  • The members were selected through the PRODUCE 101 program.
  • The last chapter of PRODUCE 101; in the final election of the members achieved a 4.38 % ranking; being the highest of the survival programs.
  • Fans and even non-fans of AOA demand that I.O.I should change its group name, as IOI (aioai) is quite similar to AOA (eioei).
  • So Mi had the central position of the group, as she came first in the last chapter of PRODUCE 101.
  • Many netizens have been concerned that the group only has 3 female rappers: Nayoung, Yoojung and Mina.
  • On April 4, I.O.I had their first official activity on VLive app, but it only lasted 5 minutes. In their 5 minutes of transmission they got more than 800 000 likes; currently they have more.

  • On April 30, Korean media Ilgan Sport offered the first reports of a possible I.O.I. reunion, and CJ E&M has confirmed that a reunion of the girls is being considered for 2019, but that nothing has been decided.     • On June 12, a report came out again that reported a new detail of the possible reunion of I.O.I. This time, they announced that it would be with nine members (without Jeon So Mi and Choi Yoo Jung) and not eleven, as it was reported in April. However, CJ E&M assured that nothing has been decided yet, and everything is still under negotiation.
    • On June 28, it was reported that the group would indeed return with nine members in 2019, and that they have already selected the title song for their comeback and are preparing the choreography. Minutes later CJ E&M announced that they are working on the preparations for the comeback and it would be announced soon. On July 1, 2019, they filmed the “album jacket” of their comeback.
    • According to an exclusive report on September 6, the I.O.I group recently confirmed its return deadline for this December. Experts told the media, “I.O.I’s comeback has been confirmed for December. The decision came after taking into consideration the members’ schedules, the full quality of their comeback songs and other production preparations, etc. A specific date has not been set yet, but it will probably be in early December.”
    • Previously, I.O.I girls were expected to return as a 9-member group in October, However, according to insiders, I.O.I has persisted in contacting Jeon So Mi and Yoo Yeon Jung’s agencies even after previous news reports in hopes of a full 11-member reunion.
