WINNER is composed of four members born between 1991 and 1994. Their names are: Yoon, Jinu, Hoony, and Mino. They are the winners of the reality show WIN.
All four members are Korean. The oldest member is Jinu (born Sep 26, 1991). He was 22 years old when he made his debut with WINNER. The youngest member is Yoon (born Jan 21, 1994). He was 20 years old at the time of WINNER’s debut.
The group debuted originally as a five-member group. Former member Taehyun departed from the group in 2016.

On March 20, singer and songwriter Yoon Jong Shin revealed the participation of WINNER members Seung Yoon and Mino in his monthly project titled WILD BOY.
On June 10, 2014, WINNER kicked off the beginning of its long-awaited debut by releasing a teaser called ‘The Visitor’. This was followed by a launch campaign plan officially released by YG on June 12, which spanned 3 weeks from June 16 to July 6 with the first two weeks titled ‘Test Week’, ‘New York Week’ respectively.
Mino was the leader of Team A, but, unfortunately, he injured his ankle ligament and Yang Hyun Suk decided to replace him with Seung Yoon, he stated that it was the best decision because Seung Yoon has leadership qualities that he does not possess.
One of their flagship songs is a cover of “I’m officially missing you”, they usually sing it to the fans and the fans to them.
After his album release, two videos were uploaded on his official Youtube account for his alternative rock song, ‘Color Ring’ and his mid-tempo hip hop track, ‘Empty’. With the latter he surpasses one million views in less than 24 hours.
‘Empty’ was written and composed almost entirely by iKON’s B.I, who gave it to her as a gift for her debut.
They achieved a perfect all-kill on the Melon charts (digital purchases). They also reached the number one spot on iTunes in 5 countries Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Taiwan.
It entered the Billboard World Chart albums ranking in first place for the month of August.
On September 10, the group began its Japanese promotions with the 2014 album S/S: Japan Collection and embarked on its first Japanese solo concert the following day on September 11. It ranked second on the ORICON – Japan chart within hours of its release.
A little less than 2 months after their debut, they won the Triple Crown at M! COUNTDOWN.
They are the second YG entertainment artists to perform on the Weekly Idol variety show (first was G-Dragon).
They were invited to the music program Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook by acclaimed musician Yoo Hee Yeol, demonstrating their great vocal talent with a live performance of their debut song ‘Empty’ and their cover of 2NE1’s “Missing you”; generating more interest from the public and a great response from the press.
WINNER received the ‘Men of The Year’ award in the ‘New Rising Award’ category at the ninth men’s fashion magazine ‘Arena Homme Plus’ and luxury brand ‘Mont Blanc Korea’ ninth A-Awards held on December 9, 2014. WINNER was exceptionally invited by Hunan TV to “2014-2015 Hunan Satellite TV’s New Year’s Concert”, becoming the first international rookie group to be invited to China’s most popular and biggest New Year’s Eve program. This has shown unprecedented popularity, considering that WINNER has not made an official debut as a group in this country.

Channel V Asia’s Best Kpop Songs of 2014 ranked “Empty” at #4.
On BUGS Top 10 2014 Music Albums WINNER’s debut album ‘2014 S/S’ ranked #6.
WINNER was selected “BEST NEW ARTIST” through the “M+Special Survey-Asked” survey of 144 artists (kpop idols).
Comments made by surveyed idols who selected WINNER as the best new artist of 2014 were, “They attracted a lot of attention by taking the top spots in online music charts since they debuted”, “They are all very talented”, “They have been received the award of ‘Best new artist’ in all the shows of 2014, showing an amazing debut”.
AMERICA FUSE TV selected WINNER as one of the 13 “Top Breakout Artists of 2014”, expressing great expectations for the group’s future.
They were special guests at Epik High’s ‘Parade 2014’ concert in Incheon, where they sang two songs from their debut album, ‘Empty’ and ‘Different’. Meanwhile, Mino, Seung Yoon and Seung Hoon collaborated on the special performance of the track ‘Born Hater’.
Dispatch and Starcast held their own awards for the best of 2014 ‘BEST OF 2014, giving WINNER and BTOB the ‘Not being able to stay still Award’.
They recorded the second highest ratings during the 5-hour New Year’s concert special broadcast on Hunan TV. The first place in ratings went to a musical collaboration of Chinese artists.
After his performance at “Hunan TV New Year Countdown Concert 2014-2015”, WINNER became the most searched word on Sina Weibo and Weibo SNS. Another most searched word was “MINO” making the phrase “Mino TV” the trending word of the night.
They were named in an article by MTV IGGY, “MTV IGGY: WINNER’s K-Hip-Pop Clobbers the Competition”.
WINNER was among the nominees for MTV IGGY’s “Artist of the Week” on January 3, 2015. On 09/01 MTV IGGY confirmed that *WINNER won first place with more than 50% of the votes.
Within the circle of artists and show business they have been nicknamed “Monster rookies” and “‘The Rookies Awards Collectors”.
A total of 13,500 fans attended “WWIC 2015” in China, held in the cities of Beijing (4,000 local fans), Shanghai (6,500 local fans) and Shenzhen (3,000 local fans).
On January 31, WINNER held its first fan meeting in Seoul as part of the ‘World Wide Inner Circle Conference 2015’ tours, meeting with a total of 10,000 fans who filled the ‘Olympic Gymnastic Stadium’ with their canvases and light sticks.

After their appearance in an episode of the popular show Chino Happy Camp, WINNER ranked #9 as one of the groups with the most fans.
They were greeted on their arrival in China by a huge crowd of fans who occupied a large part of the airport and chanted the group’s name as they walked to the exit. After the incidents that occurred due to the agglomeration of fans, on their second arrival for the KKBE event in China, security guards were put in place to prevent many fans from passing through, making the group’s journey through the airport more orderly.
In a March ranking, WINNER ranked 8th best-selling album with its EXIT:E series released in February.
Jinwoo, Seung Yoon and Mino attended Block B’s concert to support them. Meanwhile, P.O attended EXIT Tour’s concert.

On June 15, upon the release of their Japanese digital mini-album EXIT:E, it became #1 on iTunes in the K-Pop category.
Global-IC was upset with YG Entertainmet for changing the Facebook post where only the 4 active members appear, some saying that it should have waited for them to make comeback, and also because of the short time that had passed since they announced their departure.
On March 27, 2017, the first teaser of Fate Number For being their first comeback as a 4-member group was released.
WINNER ranks 4th and 6th among Kpop male groups with the highest number of countries with No. 1 in the TOP digital album sales on iTunes (4th:30 countries OTF /6th: 24 countries FNF).
They are the first boy group to reach 100 million streams while still inside the GAON chart, a record achieved with Really Really.
Mino, Jinwoo and Hoon have entered Kakao’s “silent” chat rooms (in which only photos should be sent as writing is forbidden) related to them, where they shared photos and messages with fans. The first time Hoony entered the chat room, he was deleted for sending a photo of JYP.
