  • All members of 2PM joined JYP Entertainment through auditions except for Nichkhun who was scouted by a talent agent.

  • Several of the members came from or lived in the United States. Taecyeon lived in Massachusetts, USA. Jay Park lived in Seattle, USA. Nichkhun lived in California, USA.

Facts

  • They are nicknamed as the “Beast Idols” of Korea, for their energetic and powerful live performances. The first to give them this name were their own fans. For them, the strength with which they perform makes them look aggressive, like “a beast”.
  • They participated in the Idol Army program, making that season the highest ranking season along with Super Junior.
  • They are recognized by TVCF, the largest entity for the designation of advertising commercials in Korea, as the “Kings of Advertising” due to the fact that the group has more than 14 commercials annually nationwide and, although Girls’ Generation exceeds that number, they rank first in average ratings, number of views and downloads.
  • Thailand is one of the countries in Asia where the group has achieved greater fame. The main reason is that one of its members, Nichkhun, is a native of there, for this reason they often refer to the country as their second home.
  • Their first concert tour was called “Don’t Stop Can’t Stop”, giving the first recital in a luxury stage at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul. Their opening acts were their agency partners 2AM and Miss A, in addition well-known artists such as Tiger JK, Tiffany were in attendance, Yuri, Jessica and Hyoyeonde Girls’ Generation, Tasha, BEAST among others.

  • “Beautiful” was released on June 6 in Japan, achieving the record of being the best-selling single regardless of genre. 2PM visited the Shibuya store on November 22, where they received the certificate of recognition.
  • They released a special album “2PM Clothes Album” in Korea, which sold out in just one day.
  • “Masquerade” was composed by NA.ZU.NA and M.I, who have previously worked with artists such as Arashi, Koda Kumi and SMAP. The single also includes the track “Forever”, composed by Junho.
  • They surpassed their own record in Japanese sales, where “Beautiful” sold 73,529 in one day, while “Masquerade” sold a total of 88,166 in the same time.

  •  MBC aired a special program called “2PM Returns Come Back Special” where for the first time they performed live their two promotional singles “Comeback When You Hear This Song” and “A.D.T.O.Y”. In this same program, they showed an interview in which the members comment on the process of preparing the album and on the personal problems they went through during the last 2 years.
  • The group’s Japanese single “Give me Love” had held the top spot on Tower Records, when on May 3 “Grown,” their Korean album, managed to position itself at the top of the chart, making 2PM beat itself in Japan and proving its great popularity in the country.
