October 14th, 2007 at 12:24 am

October 18th, 2007 at 3:15 pm
Wow, what a good casting. Looking forward to watching this series!
November 3rd, 2007 at 5:27 pm
Awww!! The picture’s so awesome, with Song Il Gook and Han Jae Suk; they definitely rocks!!!
November 6th, 2007 at 7:53 am
anyone know what is the ending like? What will happen to Song Il Gook?
November 7th, 2007 at 10:48 am
The ending is a precious surprise thing in every storyline, kiddo! But I guess it’ll similar with The Devil/Mawang, you’ll fall in love with both main male actors.
November 8th, 2007 at 10:19 am
GO JUMONG! you ROCK. Just hope they gave you more action movies like JUMONG and Emperor of the sea where the world can really see that actor quality in yours. I just saw Bae Yoon Joon or what ever that name is…the actor for Winter Sonnata…I think this Mr Bae Yoon is not fit for action movie..feminine character is not good for action film. I just wish JUMONG played his role on this new movie, and that will make Japanese theater rock… JUMONG is still the best and nothing compare to that movie…not yet… ..JUMONG FAN
November 10th, 2007 at 5:10 pm
D’you mean Bae Yong Joon’s role at Tae Wang blablabla? Well, but he looks good at Scandal.
November 19th, 2007 at 1:37 pm
i’m interested on this drama series because Mr. Song portrays a kind of different role, like to see him in a different setting and story, only that it’s not yet shown here in my country, it is of great advantage to see it on tv first because commonly, you will get to understand outrightly their conversation since it will be translated into our own language. I could hardly wait to see this highly expensive drama production… 🙂
November 20th, 2007 at 9:18 pm
I saw a whole bunch of episodes and it’s so interesting! But I liked how Maria was before. T^T But it’s so good to see Song Il Kook in this kind of drama. ^^ In this drama he’s getting all beat up and everything. I kind of eel sorry for him here. ^^*
November 27th, 2007 at 4:28 pm
I’d cry while watching the episode of Maria’s father dying..
December 17th, 2007 at 10:52 pm
can’t wait to watch this drama…
Song IL Guk you’re the best!!!
December 18th, 2007 at 1:33 pm
This is a very addictive drama. I recommend it to everyone.
December 25th, 2007 at 1:14 am
Hey dude dejavu:
We all love Song performances, and I love BYJ performance as well, he may be a pretty boy but he is an actor and all actors should try every genre to better their skills and to see what fits. Bother actor can be romantic and or action they have the skills its all down to interpretation and how they analyse and see the role. So stop being critical okay.
December 26th, 2007 at 3:19 am
i thought it would be a good drama, but it was a waste of time. its pretty dumb and its not intresting to watch.
December 30th, 2007 at 9:55 am
i think harry died in the end just by looking at the rating of the last episode..hahhahah.. what a waste of money if that’s the case..
January 3rd, 2008 at 9:43 am
i found the d-addicts site, but problem is how to download it,, i tried it before but it takes forever to download one episode… i just need someone would tell me the steps how to download the raw and the subs, how to play it, what i need and what should i download first… can someone tell me step by step??..plzzz and thank you..
January 7th, 2008 at 6:05 am
Agreed with Dejavu. BYJ is just a good actor not great.
Seen some of his other dramas, bought a few of those drama, what a waste of money. Damn boring, same style and expressions. Song is great in Jumong.
January 8th, 2008 at 1:13 am
Agreed. BYJ has a girlish and feminine look. His performance is OK. His new drama (although it did cost a lot of money) is not as good as Jumong!
January 9th, 2008 at 11:59 am
i am excited to watch ii on tv………………………………
then after that i will judge it if it is good or bad…………
if it is beautiful than jumong…………………
or if it is bad
January 16th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
January 26th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
I’ll be waiting to show the new TV series of Song IL Gook “THE LOBBYIST” here on TV in Philippines. JUmonger’s are all waiting for it. Hindi pa man eh kilig na ako…. Hope to see you here in Philippines. Good luck and more power to acting career. LUV you!
January 27th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
I want to the new TV series (Lobbyist) of Song il gook here in Myanmar.
January 30th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
Good to watch the different scene and places of this drama. I believe they consumed a lot of money in this series. Anyway my rating is 7/10. Song is good while lead actress is so cool. I like the way she performed and also other characters are very delightful too. Try to watch this.
January 30th, 2008 at 8:16 pm
A Must Watch says it all…
March 9th, 2008 at 8:50 am
this drama did not work. the script is no so good. the pieces don’t fit together. the Main Character Maria seems to be so foolish. the story is kind of far fetched. The English sucks. Song’s character is consistent, but nobodyelse is interesting.
March 26th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
It was a big budget drama but I am sorry to say, it was very average, action was excellent , I enjoyed the actors as they played their parts well. But the script was just a script,it did start off well but got to be bogged down I thought. before watching this I watched “Queen of the Game “which was much better for sure. After finishing watching Lobbyist
it was forgotten ,not like most dramas ,where you think of it the next day or so.
April 12th, 2008 at 10:27 am
awesome drama…
i love it =]
April 26th, 2008 at 6:19 pm

i hope to watch this drama cause i lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve (song ll gook ) sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much he is only best actor in world
May 22nd, 2008 at 8:41 pm
I don’t think Lobbyist is interesting drama. The female character’ (maria) so evil and the male character Harry (play by Song Il gook) is too nice and always take Maria side. Arggghhh, that ruin the whole story.
June 1st, 2008 at 10:22 am
what is the ending of this drama?
June 1st, 2008 at 8:15 pm
sorry i want to ask you to tell me download link of terms of endearment with song il kook or some other movies and tv sets of song il kook .if you can help me answer me with id “zahraeftekhar71@yahoo.com”
thank you
June 4th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
this is a serious drama. with war n politic background. i must say its not entertaining.
June 6th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
can someone tellme what is the ending of this drama? i know this is not the typical korean drama but it does have an interesting side of the storyline.
June 16th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
the story was ok to me and i luv SIG better in sageuk dramas…no offence but i don’t quite like the female lead…those who likes action packed drama you may go for this one…
June 17th, 2008 at 10:49 pm
I think this drama is interesting, its quite different and the action scenes was really good. But I dont like the female character, harry is too good for her!
What made me keep watching this drama was SIG, I love his acting, its terrific !!
I also like the one who played james, he made a great team with SIG, well done !!
June 24th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
the girl, maria does not match song il gook!dey look odd together bec i think maria is not that pretty. good series though but very serious topic.
June 26th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
i like this series and contrary to what the comments here, I think its a fine drama series. I am impressed that they made effort to reserch a lot of serious topics dicussed here like ammunitions, tanks and submarines. Its not easy to do this. Im happy I was informed. Its even very timely these days like the threat of nuclear war and the illegal selling of ammunitions,. Similar to the topis in Iron Man.
I laughed when Song Il Gook began to sing, Im in the mood for loving…but it looks lame when I think its not his voice. He is quite awkward to sing and dance in karaoke. He is very timid. I guess he is only for drama. He looks good in suit though and very lovable.
Acting wise, James is very good in his role. He and the man who is the dept of defense head were also in the drma series, All In. Very similar tough guy role. I guess they are veteran in acting.
This drama is very informative and is not actually recommended to those who looks after a romantic, simple plot kinda story.
July 8th, 2008 at 9:37 pm
Surprisingly good series for the low Korean rating. Good for western audiences (I am from Venezuela) which appreciate action, diversity, twisted stories, many locations and specially excellent actors and actresses, not just beautiful girls (she is a beauty, by the way).
Not finished yet watching the series but I already commend it.
July 9th, 2008 at 11:00 am
well the series is awesome
and I don’t care about the ratings
it’s fantastic and you should watch it guys
and I think that Maria is amazing and she does look good with SIG
don’t care about what others says, and just watch it
it really worth it
July 9th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
hi anyonghaseyo to all viewer
drop for second……song Il Gook is good in acting…Good Job…
And …
James is very good in his role to. I love him very much… I agreed with meritus gerona comment no (44). He and the man who is the dept of defense head were also in the drma series, All In. Very similar tough guy role. I guess they are veteran in acting…
also dont’t care about all the negative comment…make it happy and just watch it…
July 12th, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Hi everybody, the story is good but maybe too difficult 4 ppls who like drama story b’coz this is about selling guns, submarines etc to countries.
We hv to watch this film scene by scene so we can understand what the story is all about.
I like action movies too(good action movies),so…i can enjoy watching lobbyist ,especially Sig n the one who played james lee 🙂 !!
July 19th, 2008 at 6:10 am
Hi everybody
for anyone who wants to watch the lobbyist online, it’s available at:
http://www.aznv.tv
and for people who want to know the ending of the drama:
(beware………. major spoiler ahead)
(1) Tae hyuk is prisoned because of bribery issues concerning his father’s company (and his father is hospitalized).
(2) Madam Chae is killed by Michael.
(3) Michael is killed by James Lee’s men.
(3) Tae sung is held responsible infront of the media for Eva’s death and is prisoned due to bribery issues.
(4) we discover that James Lee is the lobbyist of a new company. this company will win the contract for producing 4000tone sub-marines over Han-Sung’s company and Se-Jung’s company.
(5) the whole dream of Harry to build a nuclear-powered submarines is blown away due to American threats.
(6) Maria knows that James Lee was the one responsible for the death of her sister (that was a shock to me too).
(7) Maria follows James to kill him, but Harry follows her and save her (as usuall). he and James Lee shot each other. James Lee died and Harry is severely wounded.
(8) in the End, we see Maria teaching little kids English in Kyngistan, and then Harry shows up and hugs her.
(yeah, happy ending everyone).
I actually enjoyed the drama sooooo much.
you’re right that there’s no chemistry between her and SIG, but she is really bretty.
July 30th, 2008 at 9:45 am

September 14th, 2008 at 2:12 am
I love this drama
but I think Harry dies in the end and the last scene (where both harry and maria are in Guinsitan) is just a dream. an imagination that harry has before he dies 🙁

A New Day Has Come

Hi Mr.Song Il Gook!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve finished “Lobbyist”. It’s a really good drama. There are good actors, patriotism, love, funny moments, action and of course you! My father and I were interested in this drama very much. Excellent job!!!!!!!! Thanks a lot to director, screenwriters and actors!!!!!!!!!
I like the end of this drama – it’s one of the best endings of korean dramas i’ve ever seen. Usually most of them end sadly, but in “Lobbyist” all end very well! When i was watching i envied to Maria and Kyrgyzstan – why didn’t you come to Kazakhstan? i wanted to be on the Maria’s place – live with u on the cost of beautiful lake like Issik-kol apart from other people….
Thank u for act in “Lobbyist”!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Girls,
I like to read all of your comments. I think one the joyful thing is to share your opinion about your favorite actor or drama. I knew Mr. Song from Emperor of the Sea, and couldn’t forget Yeom Jang because of his sorrow. Then I buy KOW DVD. The effect is better than Jumong and King Yuri is marvellous. Just like most of you, I don’t like Yeon character. Beside that, I don’t like the fact that although Muhyul love Yeon very much but actually he cheat his wife. So, I don’t want to rewatch it again (I like to rewatch the special moment of Jumong).
Then after finish KOW, I googling to find the other Mr. Song’s movie and I find Jumong. The story start slowly compared to KOW, but in the middle it getting more fun, especially after Lady Ye Soya came. Trully, I don’t like her acting, but the story between her and Jumong is marvellous.He..he..I love the story about husband that loyal to his wife (unlike Muhyul whatever the reason). I like So Seoh No too, and admire her acting. I give complement for The scriptwriter that can make such beautiful love and sacrifices story.
By the way, if you are the fans of SIG i think you should watch Term of Endearment, it is house hold drama (which i like.he..he..) and you can see his excellent acting. For the closing, I just want to ask for help. I have watched online Water Bloom (another SIG drama) from my soju. But before I could finish it

April 24th, 2010 at 4:22 am
February 25 was production press conference day for MBC’s new weekend series A Man Called God, starring Song Il-kook, and was held at Seoul’s Sogongdong Lotte Hotel.
The entire main cast was present: Song as main character Choi Kang-ta, a billionaire and spy also going by the names “Peter Pan” and “Michael King”; Han Chae-young as a reporter and his primary love interest; Han Go-eun as a sexy femme fatale; Kim Min-jong as a sharp special agent with the National Intelligence Agency; Yoo In-young as the precious daughter of the man who killed Kang-ta’s parents; and Jo Jin-woong as a villain.
At the press conference, Song was asked if he felt any pressure playing this character. He answered, “I’ve seen comments asking, ‘Are you so tired of playing kings now that you’re playing god?’” (This refers to his past record of playing kings in historical dramas.) “Rather than feeling pressure, I’m really into this project. I’m immersed more fully than I’ve been in previous dramas. It is a little stressful to be on set and worry about every little thing, but on the other hand I’m really happy.” He added, “This is a role every man has dreamt of playing. The process may be difficult, but I feel extremely happy doing it.”

Description:
This drama shows how devastating and hurtful it can be for a woman to live with a boyfriend before marriage and not end up tying a knot with him. Korea has the second highest divorce rate in the world as more and more families become ruined — mainly because one of the spouses cheats. To make things worse, the mass media continues to champion premarital cohabitation as a choice that unmarried couples are free to make. Terms of Endearment depicts today’s harsh reality and once again reminds us of the sacred meaning of marriage and the importance of family

Woo Hyuk In China + A Man Called God OST
A little info:
As today’s news reports, Korea’s Michael Jackson or Woo Hyuk took part
in a Chinese variety program. On the 17th he wrapped up filming for the
show, Be Ready Anytime. He decided to participate in the program in
part for his gratitude to fans who were awaiting his return as well as do
some PR work as part of the Asia Tour concert. During filming he danced
to songs from his previous (Korean) albums and showed off why he is
regarded as the “Korean Michael Jackson” and the “King Of Dance” among others.
He also enjoyed a game against the national team’s table tennis coach.
Before filming for the show, Woo Hyuk participated in a grand opening ceremony for the BOAO International Tourism Forum. His already packed schedule includes a video shoot for the Asia Tour Concert among other things.
Also he made he comeback with the soundtrack to drama, A Man Called

drama is based from, and once he got an offer from HowL (the music
director), he accepted.

This news has been rumored for many months already, but finally it’s confirmed by producers: Song Il-kook is on for MBC’s upcoming drama series A Man Called God [신이라 불리운 사나이]. This means he’ll be following two big historical roles (Jumong, Kingdom of the Wind) with a contemporary one in this “love story about a modern-day hero.”
The drama is adapted from Park Gong-sung’s manhwa of the same name and, beginning in mid-February, plans for location shooting in Hawaii — a first for Korean dramas. Included on the list of shoot locales are the city of Honolulu and Waikiki Beach, among other famous hot spots. The writer is Lee Hong-gu (whose online profile appears to be empty), while the director is Lee Hyung-sun (of 2007’s MBC series Be Near Me and the 2006 comedy film Moodori).
A Man Called God will follow the current weekend drama Assorted Gems and premiere on March 13.

Song Il-gook to meet Kazakhstan president today
Korean actor Song Il-gook [Asia Economic Daily]
Korean actor Song Il-gook will be attending a state dinner today held in honor of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s visit to Korea.
The actor — who rose to fame in 2006 thru MBC TV series “Jumong” — was invited to the presidential event, which will take place at the Blue House this evening.
“I heard that the viewership rating for ‘Jumong’ reached as high as 80 percent in Kazakhstan when it aired from December 2008 thru April 2009″, a source close to the actor was quoted as saying. “The Kazakhstan president was very interested in the show so naturally, Song Il-gook was invited to the dinner”.

Michael King is a top investment executive who has a secret double life as one of the world’s top assassins. In his other life, he is known as Choi Kang Ta, or codenamed as “Peter Pan.” His parents were killed when he was only a child. Because of this, he is determined to systematically destroy the ones that killed his parents. His parents’ murderers are now the top CEOs of several companies in South Korea. King, along with his friends Vivian Castle, Professor, Dennis, and Johnny, form a secret team that seeks to reveal to the world the horrible deeds done by these CEOs. But along the way, King falls in love with a reporter named Jin Bo Bae. His love for the reporter threatens to tear the team apart because Vivian also harbors a deep love for King and an increasing hatred for Jin Bo Bae.

This drama succeeds and fails in several different ways. I’ll concentrate first on where the drama succeeds. First off, the whole idea of the drama was very cool. It felt a lot like a superhero movie or a James Bond movie which I thought was quite a refreshing change from the usual dramas that I watch. The action scenes are decent, and they picked a guy who definitely fits the part. The series also captures all of the emotions necessary for an engaging series. There’s humor, there’s action, there’s melancholy, this series had it all. Another thing I really liked was that the drama was more fast-paced. There weren’t any “wasted” moments. You’re not going to be getting scene after scene of filler emotional stuff. It’s great when I know that a drama isn’t going to waste my time. One last thing. The actress who played Vivian Castle (Han Go Eun) was HOT AS HELL. Seriously why had I never seen her before. DAMN.
June 5th, 2010 at 11:34 pm
3-
Now let’s talk about where the drama fell short. The main love story between Michael King and Jin Bo Bae wasn’t all that interesting. It might have to do with the fact that Bo Bae seemed incredibly stupid in this movie. She endangers everyone, asks stupid questions, and basically is like the ditzy blonde girl that is super annoying. She also didn’t look very good in this series, and was severely overshadowed in the beauty department by Vivian Castle. Another reason is that some of the supporting characters were terrible. The main love rival, Hwang Woo Hyun, absolutely didn’t stand a chance against Michael King when it came to wooing Jin Bo Bae. The director made him super creepy and also seemingly mentally unstable (he stalks Bo Bae and also kills a horse with a gun after he loses a race against Michael King). Also I had some problem with the plotholes in the story, which you guys will discover when you watch it. Basically these plotholes say, “the detectives in this movie suck at their job. Even I could do better.”
June 5th, 2010 at 11:35 pm
4-
Michael King is played by Song Il Gook. He is a batman figure. Mysterious, charming, handsome, but also a badass fighter. Whoever casted him did a good job because he really fit the role well. Song Il Gook is very lean and muscular. One thing I would change is the hair. His hair in some parts of the movie reminded me of a bird or something because he ties it up in a sort-of man bun. Also this guy is super weird in some ways. Here is a super hot girl who wants you, and you go for the uglier, dumber one. Just goes to show that men always want what they don’t have.
June 5th, 2010 at 11:36 pm
5-
Jin Bo Bae is played by Han Chae Young. I’ve never liked Han Chae Young, but I especially disliked her in this series. For one thing she could have used a little bit more makeup as she looks incredibly plain against the stunning Han Go Eun (portraying Vivian Castle). Another is that the director routinely has her “talking to herself,” which I felt was pretty odd. Show don’t tell is usually the best plan for storytelling, and I felt the character of Jin Bo Bae sometimes insulted my intelligence. She also routinely asks stupid questions as a reporter. For example, she basically asks a company president, “Hey are you guys corrupt?” If they were, why the heck would they answer that question truthfully? Come on now.
June 5th, 2010 at 11:38 pm
6-
Vivian Castle is played by Han Go Eun. She’s my favorite character in the whole series, but I might be biased because she’s probably one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever laid eyes on. Seriously. Just watch her sequence where she shows off her bare back and tattoo and you’ll see why. Vivian also has a much deeper character arc than Jin Bo Bae, which I found weird. We are able to really feel and see Vivian’s emotions. Her love for Michael. Her regret at her decision (you’ll find out, it’s pretty major). She’s probably even more developed upon than Jin Bo Bae despite only being a secondary character. Loved her. Hated the fact though that she’s the love rival.
June 5th, 2010 at 11:39 pm
7-
Hwang Woo Hyun is played by Kim Min Jong. I hated this guy. He was a great antagonist, but he was also quite ridiculous in some senses. He did not pose a threat at all to Michael King when it came to wooing Jin Bo Bae. He stalks Jin Bo Bae at night and also lies to hide up his own corruption. He is a CIS agent (Central Intelligence Service), and he is probably one of the most corrupt CIS agents in the organization. I didn’t really like how they portrayed the CIS as such corrupt bunch of guys. Instead perhaps they could have made him into just a normal CIS agent trying to find the vigilante superhero. However, they actually made him into an evil character, which I thought was pretty unnecessary.
June 5th, 2010 at 11:41 pm
8-
There are many more characters, but they don’t really play into the main love triangles of the movie. I did like Jo Jin Woong as Jang Ho, the bumbling son of one of the CEOs in the movie. He’s hilarious in his role as Jang Ho. Also Yoo In Young as Jang Mi was not a bad character either. She’s sexy in her own way as well. As for the rest of the characters, well, you’ll see about them when you watch the series, there’s just too many to explain in here.
The series has its good and bad parts, but overall, its a good series to watch. It is a bit long, at over 20 episodes, but it’s worth it.
thank you 🙂

The model who played like a businessman in the Winstorm GM Daewoo CF is no other than Song Il Gook, the star of the popular epic serial The Book of Three Han, JuMong. He has been doing many serials in the past on his favour..He has many times been complimented on his looks and personality and indeed has a striking resemblance with according to others, chinese celebrities, Jacky Chan and Stephen Chow..
Il Gook is currently doing a new project that fans will love and according to him, he is keen on doing series…if something interesting comes his way, he certainly will do it…
He is the type of actor who is extremely not choosy about taking up work on television, and every piece of project he gets, he makes sure he gets an A+ doing it, be it cameo or lead role…
In his new series, Lobbyist, he plays a character that will add twist to the tale, whatever it is, he assumes everyone will love his character and thus makes it far different from his past dramas..
June 13th, 2010 at 1:55 pm
As MBC drama Jumong ended its limelight on TV, Song il Gook who successfully played a hero, now stars in SBS TV Drama as “G” Hero in Lobbyist, he began to reduce weight…While shooting Jumong, he had almost no time to do anything during the whole filming…now, with his role as an international quartermaster or Lobbyist, his role requires him to slim down…To this end, he has directed staff to hseng-made to give him time to prepare…
Song’s spokesman said “while he was filming Jumong, he had a lot of fats, now as needed for the new series, he has to attend to his regular gym, jog in the riverside every morning to lose weight…”

Korean actress Jang Jin-young passed away Tuesday evening after losing a battle against stomach cancer. She was 35.
Jang had been hospitalized in Seoul after her condition recently worsened and doctors had reportedly been giving her morphine and other drugs to relieve the pain.
The news of the actress’ sudden hospitalization Tuesday startled fans, as it was thought that she was recovering after resting for a month in Los Angeles.
Jang was diagnosed with stomach cancer in September last year when she paid a visit to the hospital for a regular checkup. What she thought was a stomach ulcer turned out to be cancer, and Jang has been out of the public eye ever since.
“Actress Jang Jin-young passed away today at the Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital at Catholic University of Korea. Even after she was diagnosed with cancer, she was always positive and tried to pay back the love and support her fans sent her. We will remember her passion toward films and we hope she stays in our hearts forever,” Jang’s agency, Yedang Entertainment, said through a press release.
After winning the Miss South Chungcheong Province beauty pageant in 1992, Jang started her career as a model. She made her first appearance as an actress in 1997 in the television miniseries “The Angel in Me” (KBS). She continued to appear regularly on television before making her big screen debut in the 1999 horror film “Jaguimo” starring Kim Hee-seon. Her first big hit was the movie “The Foul King” in 2000, and from then the actress was seen in numerous films such as “The Siren” (2000), “Sorum” (2001), “Over the Rainbow” (2002), “The Scent of Love” (2003) and “Singles” (2003).
In the horror film “Sorum,” Jang played a mysterious wife with a secret and won the Best Actress Award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. The hit movie “Singles,” where she played the quirky character Na-nan, also got her the same recognition at the 2003 awards. Her character in “Singles” was a big hit among young women, with many changing their hairstyles to the short and curly hairdo the actress wore in the film.
“The Scent of Love” was also one of her best known works, where Jang played a patient diagnosed with stomach cancer.
In 2006, Jang joined fellow actor Kim Seung-woo for the movie “Between Love and Hate” and won the Best Actress Award at the Korean Film Awards.
The actress returned to the television screen in 2007 in the drama “Lobbyist” with fellow actor Song Il-guk. She was diagnosed right after the drama finished.
Along with numerous films, the actress also appeared in various commercials ranging from cosmetics to electronic goods.
A ceremonial funeral hall will be set up at the ASAN Medical Center in southern Seoul.

Television and film actor Song Il-gook makes his theatrical debut in dua
l roles as independence activist Ahn Jung-geun and his son Ahn Jun-
saeng, who was said to be a traitor, in the new musical “I Am You”,
which premieres in July. Provided by Gaeksuk

Actor Song Il-gook makes his stage debut as the historical figure.
Actor Song Il-gook, who made a name for himself in television dramas and movies, is about to make his stage debut in a play that hits close to home. The play “I Am You”, commemorates the centennial of the patriot Ahn Jung-geun’s death. In it, Song is double cast as both the patriot and his son. It’s an impressive debut for an actor whose own family tree is peopled with historical figures.
Ahn Jung-geun (1879-1910) was a well-known independence activist who assassinated Ito Hirobumi, Japan’s first resident general of Korea from 1905-09. Ito was the chief instigator in Japan’s occupation of Korea in the early 1900s.
The play, directed by renowned stage actress Yoon Suk-hwa and slated to premiere at the end of July, depicts the lives of Ahn and his son Ahn Jun-saeng, who, in contrast to his father, was accused of being a traitor. Song plays both father and son.
Song gained recognition for his work in the TV dramas “Emperor of The Sea” (2005) and “Jumong” (2006), winning acting awards for his performance in both. His film credits include 2005’s “The Art of Seduction”.
He talked about his theater debut at a press conference last Wednesday at the Jungmiso Theater in Jongno District, central Seoul.
June 19th, 2010 at 11:24 am
At the press conference, Song said that he was initially not going to
accept the role because he didn’t feel ready for stage work, which he
said he has always regarded as the most legitimate work for an actor.
But Yoon convinced him to put his fears aside and take the role.
Song also said he was inspired by what Ahn Jung-geun tells his son,
who asks who and what his father is fighting for. “For you”, Ahn replies.
Song didn’t feel he could ignore the call to portray the independence
fighter, perhaps because his family is closely tied to Korea’s
independence movement.
Song is the great-grandson of Kim Jwa-jin, a well-known
independence fighter in the early 1900s. His grandfather, Kim Doo-
han, fought against the Japanese mafia, and many television dramas
and movies have been made about his life. After Korea gained
independence, Kim Doo-han became a member of National
Assembly, participated in labor movements and was part of a
movement against trusteeship.
June 19th, 2010 at 11:27 am
4-
“I’m proud because my grandfather was so honorable”, said Song.
Yoon said it was Song’s understanding of history that led her to cast
him in the musical, particularly his participation in an annual tour to
China that includes visits to places that were important to the
independence movement. Yoon said she was also impressed that
Song knew so much about Jun-saeng’s life and motivations.
“Jun-saeng is said to be part of a pro-Japanese group and is called a
traitor and, but I don’t agree with that”, Song said. “If I or anyone
else had lived during that period, we would have been like him”.

Korean name

Revised Romanization Song Il-guk
McCune–Reischauer Song Ilguk
Song Il Gook (alternately Song Il Guk) (송일국) is a popular South Korean actor. He starred in several historical Korean dramas such as Jumong and Emperor of the Sea. He graduated from the Cheongju University and majored in Performing Arts. He is the grandson of Kim Du-han, son of the famous Korean independence movement general Kim Jwa-jin during the early 1900s. He is the son of actress Kim Eul Dong.[1]
Song typically takes on physically challenging roles that require sword-fighting, martial arts and horsemanship. He is a vice-president of the Korean Triathlon Confederation[2][3] and participated in the 2008 Seoul International Triathlon Competition.[4] In April 2008, Song carried the Olympic torch through Seoul.[5][6]
Additionally, Song has talent as a sketch artist. His skill was captured during filming of Emperor of the Sea and Kingdom of the Winds.[7]
In addition to acting, Song has modeled professionally, both on the runway and in print. Recently, in 2008, he and several of his colleagues, Joo Jin Mo, Ko Soo, Jang Geun-suk, and Park Jae-jung,were the subjects of the “Kolon Christmas Photo Shoot”, [8].
On March 15 2008, Song was wed to a Busan High Court Judge, intially identified only by her family name “Jung”, in a private traditional[9] Korean wedding away from the media spotlight at the Sheraton Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul[10]. Later, Song’s bride’s full name was revealed to be Jeong Seung Yeon (정승연).[11]
In 2009, the State of Hawaii designated March 21 as Song Il-Gook day.[12]
In April of 2010, Song was invited to the Blue House to dine with heads of state, including the president of Kazakhstan because the series Jumong garnered popularity in Kazakhstan.

“I’m not too good with carrying on conversations so I don’t think I would be able to become a lobbyist in reality,” says Song Il Gook who is starring as a lobbyist in the drama series to start airing on October 10th of the same title.
At the “Lobbyist” premiere held on the 28th, Song Il Gook says, “To be a lobbyist, you have to first of all be able to carry on conversations very well, but I am nothing like that so I would not be suited to be one if someone told me to. If I try to lobby anything I would probably fail.”
“Just a while ago, I was surprised when Linda Kim and her daughter visited our set. I feel bad that I was too busy filming and couldn’t have the time to talk to her much.”
Unlike his roles full of confidence in “Jumong” or “Lobbyist,” Song Il Gook is known for his shy and careful attitude, always struggling through interviews.
Even in the interview after the premiere, he says, “I really don’t know how I became an actor,” took takes a moment to think and continues, “My grades were so bad I had to retake the college entrance exam, and when my mother went to get my fortune told, they told her I would become an actor. But she didn’t even bother to believe it. I didn’t have a hint of talent that even my mother couldn’t notice in this field. I even did not know. I used to be a very introverted person who enjoyed drawing, but that changed as well. I feel I change whenever I stand in front of the camera. I am the happiest when I am filming.”
He also says, “I am asked if overseas filming wasn’t difficult, but I seem to have more energy and enjoy harder shoots. Time goes by faster, too. I would have to feel that it was difficult to say so, but I don’t.”
In regards to the English featured in the drama, “The most stressful part about filming this drama is the English. It was very stressful.”
But the English he spoke in the premiere episode was still rather smooth.
When commented, “Your English pronunciation is good,” he says smiling, “Thank you. I went abroad to study English before along with many personal lessons.”
“Lobbyist” and “The Legend” are now going to be competing in the same time frame. He says, “As we put our maximal efforts into our series as well, I hope both dramas do well.”
However, Song Il Gook also adds, “My mother is a Bae Yong Joon fan so she is enjoying ‘The Legend’ very much. When ‘Lobbyist’ starts, I don’t know which one she will watch. But I do think she will watch ‘Lobbyist’ at least on the days I am at home.”

Song Il Gook (송일국)
South Korean actor and model Song Il Gook is most known for his work in historical dramas (saguek) namely Jumong, Emperor of the Sea and Kingdom of the Wind.
He comes from a family rich in political history. Born to actress Kim Eul Dong and her husband Mr Song (his dad seems to be unnamed) on South Korea’s National Military day, he was named “Il Gook / Il Guk”, meaning “one nation”.
Song Il Gook’s maternal side of the family contributed greatly to the independence and freedom South Korea is experiencing today! His great-grandfather General Kim Jwa-Jin (Baekya) was responsible for the first emancipation of slaves in Korea. His grandfather, Kim Du Han was Korea’s most famous gangster, right wing politician and freedom fighter.
Song Il Gook was brought up in a Christian family and attended Apgu-Jong Elementary, Gu-Jong Junior High and Hyeon-dae High School. Il Gook then went on to attend Chong-Ju University of Film and Theatre and spent a short time in the USA training in stage performances.
After completing university, Il Gook served as his mother’s chauffeur for a short time and later enrolled for (the compulsory 2-year) military service in the Korean army.
Song Il Gook married Ms Jung, a Busan High Court Judge on 15 March, 2008.

In the MBC TV drama “A Man Called God”, actor Song Il-gook
spawned the new phrase “horse thighs”, and he continuously shows
off his body with extremely low body fat. He proves the fact that he
has gone through a long time of suffering by exposing his upper
body in a beach scene and swimming pool scene, and displays the
muscles of his lower body in the drama.
June 20th, 2010 at 9:29 pm
Song Il-gook confessed, “For the past 15 years, I went on a vegetarian
diet without consuming any meat, but to build up my body for this
drama, I ate many chicken breasts, as many as I will eat for my whole
life, and also ate so much egg whites that I’m fed up with eggs. It is not
too much to say that I have sharpened the knife for this drama for one
year”. He continued to say with a laugh, “My trainer named my
thighs ‘Horse thighs’ and he suggested that they have to be exposed in
the drama”.

The storyline of Lobbyist and A Man Called God is similar, which is revenge. Harry is so common, cute, poor, sincere and lucky. Choi Kang-ta is super, macho, rich, charming but cold blooded. I love both guys.

Top actress Jang Jin-yeong, who had been struggling with stomach cancer, died on September 1 at age 37. Jang’s agency, Yedang Entertainment, said the actress passed away at 4:04 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Seoul.
Jang learned about her disease in September last year during a health checkup, and since then had undergone treatment in Seoul. Her condition improved once, and she even attended a concert of singer Kim Gun-mo in May. In July this year she received treatment in the U.S. and shortly afterward disclosed that she had a boyfriend.
The actress also received acupuncture treatment and even talked about it on TV. But she was hospitalized again because her condition deteriorated last month, and she was told that her cancer had spread all over the body and was impossible to cure.
Jang’s agency said the actress had suspended her treatment last month and had been spending time with her family to prepare for her death.
Last month, Jang was transferred from Seoul National University Hospital to St. Mary’s Hospital. She was already unconscious when she was transferred.
Born in 1972 in North Jeolla Province, Jang debuted as an entertainer in 1992 when she won the Miss South Chungcheong Province title. She appeared in many TV commercials and debuted as an actress in the 1997 TV drama “Angel In Me”. She went on to appear in “Three Guys, Three Girls”, “Good Heart”. “Soonpoong Clinic” and others. While playing only supporting roles in TV dramas, Chang made a foray onto the big screen in 1999 and since then had grown into a highly recognized movie actress.
She appeared in the movies “Ghost In Love”, “The Foul King”, “Sorum”, “The Scent of Love” and “Singles”. She was the first actor in Korea to portray the life of a woman pilot in the movie “Blue Swallow”. In “Between Love And Hate”, she perfectly portrayed a woman living on the fringes of society, gaining recognition for her outstanding talent.
Jang received the Best Actress award for her roles in “Sorum”, “Singles”, “Blue Swallow” and “Between Love And Hate” (“The Unbearable Lightness of Dating”). She also received the Best New Actress, Popular Star and Best Actress in a Miniseries awards. The movie “Sorum” earned her the Best Leading Actress award at the 2002 Portugal Fantas Porto Festival.
Jang appeared in numerous TV commercials. In the 2002 commercial for Hyundai Card, where she appeared alongside actor Jeong Joon-ho, she portrayed a working woman who was about to go away on a vacation. She also acted as a model for air conditioner and cosmetics brands thanks to her healthy and sexy charm.
Jang made a comeback to the small screen after a long absence in October 2007 through the SBS TV drama “Lobbyist”, where she played lobbyist Maria. That was her last production.
Jang’s bereaved family includes her parents and elder sister. Her altar has been set up at St. Mary’s Hospital in Seoul. The funeral is slated for September 4.

Every week, people get accustomed to the korea’s drama series Lobbyist…A car chase scene developed interest concerning the cast’s occupation as the lobbyist, an early development on the show rise a single bit…
Next episode will concentrate on tank scenes and simultaneously Mary based on the trailer at the end..
July 10th, 2010 at 2:23 pm
For the regular viewers of the SBS drama series, The Lobbyist, actor, Song il Gook is of course one among the known faces in the cast. Though he comes from a family of showbiz, he decided to take acting as his own profession and has been in acting successfully for quite a long period of time..
He has got the recognition, popularity, financial stability through his acting in Korean films and serials and he has been appreciated a lot by asian audience for his extraordinary performances, especially in Condition of love, Jumong and now, as it starts, an action genre the Lobbyist, viewers need to witness it first before they give their own judgement..
On recent interview, SIK expressed his views on different topics. His latest serial which is jampacked cast, how does he compare it to his previous serials.. “i worked in dramas before and epic missions like JuMong and Haesin, first of all the budgets are remarkably different. Epic serials are high on magnificence and extravagance when it comes to costumes and location scenes.. Once the sets and lights are ready, we shoot many scenes a day to accomplish something in a day after all the huge efforts and gears and make ups and head dresses.. The Lobbyist is risky likewise as you handle, guns and other weapons, bombs and fire.. Logic and content are still a valuable part here… But both are high on drama and camera movement.. In everything you do, you have to get identified with the role, I always do series that are not sub-standard so people will like it and I am proud to say that Lobbyist is something you cannot outright reject…” he said..
July 10th, 2010 at 2:36 pm
The Lobbyist is a great drama with a production cost of
12000000000 Won over TWSSG’s 43000000000 won …He also calculated that TWSSG is a competitive show and he knows the heavy pressure on his shoulder…But he also specified that Lobbyist has a different line of vision, male viewers can relate to the story with the usage of new weapons apart from his past project, great movement action and he knows, the story can also draw in women viewers…
July 10th, 2010 at 2:37 pm
Still there is negation where the viewers can accept the airing of the lobbyist … of course, not to mention the exposure of Song il Gook which is a strong point of an audience catch on…Another thing, Jan Jing Yeong and Han Jae Seok who both did well in this series and their performance raised confidence of SIG…
SIG and JJY had a tango scene in the pole and the admiration of the staff during the actual shooting was tremendous
July 10th, 2010 at 2:41 pm
SBS Lobbyist casts and story already is a performance masterpiece.. Finally, as it started, it will confront with MBC’s The Legend when it comes to audience rating. Before it started its shooting and its release, there were quite a number of controversies arose in this series, like the point when they got the services of Han jae-seok who was out of the limelight for quite sometime due to his military services and will he maintain the magic he had before on tv? Thus, Song il-Kook who cannot easily get rid off his heroic character in JuMong, now comes with a totally new character as Harry…
Jan Jin Yeong did a tango dance…it is somehow one of the highlights in the series, not to mention SIK on the side as her partner..But will it get attention?
It was rumoured to sweep off by TWSSG on ratings..
Moreover, the Lobbyist first broadcasting which was supposed to be on the 3rd was suddenly postponed 3 days before, on the 10th, due to the North and South Korea Summit meeting…
But the positive of it all, inspite of all the issues like these, a drama that causes a constant criticism before its telecast consequentially pulls more attention like this and gets audience attention as well.. It is not an exaggeration to say that TWSSG pulled off on rating and can however pull up the Lobbyist as well due to its curiosity and not to mention the popularity of the main actor…
We still have to find out as to whether The Lobbyist will have a sky-scraping rating on its initial telecast just like TWSSG..

South Korean top actor Song Il-gook, 39, revealed on YTN’s “Interview on the Spot 24” his belief that his “incredible” family background has been his main source of success as an actor.
Song is one of several of Korea’s greatest legends. He is the grandson of Kim Du-han, a right-wing politician and his father is the famous Korean independence army Gen. Kim Jwa-jin during the early 1900s. His mother is actress and National Assembly member Kim Eul-dong, 65.
“I believe that my family background contributed a lot to my success as an actor”, Song said. “Although I resented my mother at times, it was eventually her who put her thoughts into action and has made me what I am today”.
“Actually, I didn’t learn very much from my mother”, Song said, when asked if his mother influenced his acting career. “When I actually try to spend time with my mother, movie scripts start flying around”.
Song is currently acting in the play “I am You”.

June 3rd, 2011 at 12:23 am
I watched the beginning of the drama for a few minuite than stopped because I watched it online and it was so slow because it keeps buffering. Besides, the way it was shown at the beginning it seems that the end would be very sad. i was devastated over Jumong and KOTW’s endings so I didn’t want to continue to watch it. Later I looked at the view on Amazon.com, someone said the movie has a very good story line and the actors are excellent and their whole famity enjoy. I now have this drama in my collection but i’m too busy to watch it. i will definitely watch it on my flight to Hawaii this summer.

i’m 3/4 way to the end. i started to hate the main female character so much.
July 1st, 2011 at 9:08 am
just finished this movie. it’s not the best but it’s worth watching. the story line is good and at least thank god for the happy ending.
July 12th, 2011 at 8:57 pm
just finish watching chapter 10 now, will proceed soon. halfway with the film, i find it very interesting. it is a kind of film that exposes about arms deal, the business of armaments: to kill people and encourage war but always the advantage of those engaged and of the profit they can get. It also exposes military VIPs and generals involved/engaged in arm deals and the commission they can get and their connection to other underworld. good this kind of film is not banned because i can relate it. similar is happening in our country in reality, that is why the film interests me. thanks although what made me buy a copy because of song il guk who becomes very popular through jumong.

I love this movie, in fact it is a thriller movie and all the main casts were damn good. One should appreciate this movie, to me it was not boring and I really love the movie/ actions/traitor/love/faith n hope , it is rare to watch a Korean movie like this, though it was already some years and I missed it, so I just watched it and I enjoyed watching to movie, both Harry & Maria in this movie were real good in their acting..so I do not agree with those who mentioned it boring or they do not like actress Maria, she is real good to me.
