  21. 21 : CoolBeans Says:

The leads and their respective families are killing it in this drama. The ratings should be higher. You will love the provocative Secret Love Affair by the same writer, then, you will love this drama. Same mood: family secrets and true love.

    Hello fellow drama lovers,

i have a blog dedicated to translating comments of Korean netizens on drama articles. Come stop by if you have time. Thanks! 🙂

  23. 23 : The truth Says:

I love this drama. It is a different style of comedy. Admist the injustice, anger, sadness you can see the humor which makes you laugh. Lee Joon and Go Ah Sung have solid acting skills. Another great show after Kill Me, Heal Me is over for me to watch. Love the young couple characters in this drama. They are adorable when they show how much they love each other despite the disapproval and obstacles from In Sang’s parents. Love this drama!

  24. 24 : lol Says:

Wonderful drama. Satire is at its best when it comes to In Sang’s parents. They are too traditional and trying to up hold their customs. They make every conscious decision to thwart the situation but somehow they end up finding themselves in silly scenarios. You never know what In Sang’s father plans will be but he always loses out. The casting members are great. Lee Joon and Go Ah Sung get along so well. I am totally convinced by Lee Joon’s acting skills. First time I watch Go Ah Sung’s performance and I am also fond of her. Watch this drama, it it a great one!

  25. 25 : Dee dee Says:

Oh my gosh I love this show….I’m loving im crying Lol I’m angry Lol all emotions in one ep hahahahah …..hurry up Tue and wed

  26. 26 : Carmarie Says:

This drama is great. I cannot wait until the next episode. The last scene where In San made his father, Han Jung Ho lose his composure and everything else, was so funny. What made it even funnier, is that Jung Ho needed help to jump over the railing. This drama deals with serious issues, but it has a light side and; therefore, not to preachy. Love it.

  27. 27 : the truth Says:

This is an amazing drama! Very unique in cinematography for a Korean drama and the music is so effective when it comes to the comedy scenes. Lee Joon and Go Ah Sung are so great in their role. They are so cute together. The satire never ends, making me laugh out loud. In Sang’s parents are taking over the situation but always end up being silly.

  28. 28 : the truth Says:

I am so eager to watch each episode.

  29. 29 : Jyenie Says:

The highlight of this drama is the music and the posh house 🙂

  30. 30 : jane Says:

ugly girl. why her. come on, I dont like her from “god of study”. ew. the plot is good. but the girl is a big no. i stop watching thie because of her

  31. 31 : Carmarie Says:

I would be nice if you can overlook the superficial and enjoy the story. Truly, the most insignificant part of humans is their outward appearance. Go Ah Sung is a good actress and is doing a great job with this role. Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Therefore, it would be nice to be able to overlook her features and watch the drama based on how good the storyline is, how well the drama is directed, and the actors ability to portray their roles.

  32. 32 : Jyenie Says:

Now the nobel in-laws are worried that their daughter in-law is going to be better than their son.

  33. 33 : Jyenie Says:

They portray this drama like a play. I like how the people are whispering with each other, the way they are tiptoeing and then suddenly the music comes on at the right moment. It’s really enjoyable when all the actors are acting so well and kudos to the production team for producing such a fine drama:)

  34. 34 : Adeul Says:

I have heard good things about this drama. The comments are interesting. They say more on how good the production is but less about the impact of the story.

  35. 35 : Adeul Says:

Go Ah Sung — talented actress.

  36. 36 : bitbit Says:

i love the story and the casting…..

  37. 37 : Viki Says:

A lovely charming funny drama. The whole casting members is great. Lee Joon and Go Ah Sung are perfect in their roles. The storyline is interesting. 5 star drama.

  38. 38 : Tira Says:

This is AWESOME DRAMA!. Very interesting drama and look forward to………

I like all the actors and actresses. The two main teenager are acting pretty to speak their mind…………

  39. 39 : CoolBeans Says:

An excellent drama! A good balance of the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots!” In Sang and Seo Bom make a great couple that will upgrade the culture in both houses!

  40. 40 : beautifulunik Says:

I’m surprised someone will even comment about the actress’s looks. To me she is doing an awesome job. She is beautiful and can easily pass too as the girl next door. Her part of going through the delivery was one of the best acting anyone can pull up.
this drama is very interesting and not like your everyday drama ( rich kid, controlling mom, angst, love triangle, amnesia etc) maybe I speak too soon but I’m loving it.
I’m surprised at the ratings though. I guess people prefer dramas where they have to suspend their disbelief. This is as real as it gets. I like that the lead actress,Bom is very intelligent and smart. It gets tiring watching the lead girl being naive and making dumb decisions.
Mr. And Mrs Han are hilarious. I like the way the music comes up as soon as they are around. I guess only a few can appreciate the subtle humor in the drama. Their antics…oh my. They always lose out to the younger generation without even realizing it.
    Let’s see how it goes.

  41. 41 : Carmarie Says:

I agree with your comments 100%. Therefore, I will not repeat what you’ve written. All of the actors are superb. As you stated the lead actress is intelligent and wise. I love the fact that Bom and In Sang are a team. He respects her and she is his anchor. The two have great chemistry and I am glad to see the writers and directors allowed them to be touchy-feely as newly married couples should be. I too get tired of lead actresses that are so naïve, until you wonder how they made it to adulthood. This show is one of the most realistic modern K-dramas that I have watched in a long time and it is refreshing. The parents on both sides keep me laughing, and the house staff reminds me of the staff of Upstairs, Downstairs or Downton Abby. Great Drama! Writers please do not spoil it, please stay on track.
I am looking forward to the next episode.

  42. 42 : Carmen Says:

I do agree with your comments, beautifulunik and Carmarie, seen Boom so strong, it is really amazing, I do like this comment “I love the fact that Bom and In Sang are a team. He respects her and she is his anchor.”yes this is so true , becuase most of Korean drama the mother in law, is really mean to her DIL, in this drama she respect them, but at the same time she is really smart. I have a question if you can respond, What is the problem between the younger secretary with Boom’s uncle?

  43. 43 : Carmarie Says:

I have not figured out the relationship between the young secretary and Bom’s uncle yet.

  44. 44 : Sinopsis Heard It Through The Grapevine Episode 1 - 32 « Kdramastory Says:

[…] Pemeran lengkap lainnya lihat di sini. […]

  45. 45 : Carmen Says:

I can not believe how can a smart lawyer be so domdom pavo, on trying to pay durty to his wife she already know something is going on with them….OH Boy, he will get it from the wife….

  46. 46 : Ding ding Says:

I love this drama very much. Excellent storyline, good casting and filming. All actors and actresses are doing their best especially the two couples. Its so different from the other Korean dramas. Its a pity that I can only watch the translated version. I think I miss some subtle parts.

Plz keep up the good job..👍👍👍

  47. 47 : Carmarie Says:

This drama is frantastic. I am enjoying it so much and look forward to seeing it each week. I loved the mother in episodes 17 & 18. The father, Han Jung Ho, to be so brillant, is so dumb when it comes to relationships. He is not match for his wife.
I am going to miss this drama when it is over. It is well written and well directed. The entire cast are phenomenal and the cheminstry is great between all the actors.

  48. 48 : Jams24 Says:

What did her sister do? I think I missed this part.

  49. 49 : Carmarie Says:

Seo Bam’s sister was trying to latch onto a rich guy; therefore, she was labeled a gold digger. HJH, actually his secretary, pulled some strings/blackmailed him and the rich guy, acted as if he was the one chasing after Seo Noo Ri and it saved her reputation.

  50. 50 : mely Says:

Another Excellent Drama from Ahn Pan Seok-Jung Soon Joo Duo. After hit drama “Secret Love Affair”, this drama makes me want to know more about the story. Most Nominated Drama at Baeksang Arts Awards 2015, it’s an achievement. Even this duo won last year, hope to gain another success for this drama. Believe this duo to make this drama just not an ordinary story. Make it interesting !!

  51. 51 : CoolBeans Says:

I will explain the link between Secretary Min Joo Young and Seo Bom’s uncle, Seo Chul Sik – Joo Young’s brother and Uncle Chul Sik use to work together when they were both injured in the Daeson company factory accident (explosion?) . Joo Young’s brother was critically injured and is still hospitalized with severe burns. Uncle Chul Sik has major burn scares on his upper body. Seo Bom stated she was sad because her uncle must wear long sleeves in the summer because the scars are ugly. The injured workers received no monetary compensation from the company Daeson because The Hansong Law Firm helped to change the dates to show the accident occurred after the workers were fired. So, the company was not liable. The secretary, her brother and Uncle Chul Sik are from the same town. The secretary approached the uncle to convince him to sue Daesan. She has all the documents that show the falsification of documents and complicity that she took from the law firm.

    More info:
    – Actor Kim Kwon plays the boy friend of Seo Bom’s sister. He is the newbie lawyer and law school valedictorian of Hansong law firm. He is the lawyer for Uncle Chul Sik even though he works for Hangson.
    – The money reserved for Daeson’s workers compensation was syphoned off into offshore slush fund accounts over the years with the help of Hansong lawyers.
    – The CEO of Daeson is the husband going through the divorce with the girl friend of In Sang’s father , Ji Young Ra. He is also the father of Seo Bom’s rival, Jang Hyun Soo.

  52. 52 : Carmen Says:

Thank you CoolBeans for that explanation, now I see more of the story, now, why the father and the mother blaim Boom for everiting and mistreat her that way now???It is true that he is a monster(the father)and then the mother “I hate her”, but why why why???the husband was the one try to sheat on her….I did love what all the servant in the house did-they put rules.that was good…but why Boom husband is behaving like his father is right????I did cry when Boom told him that they make her like a pupet, she is smart I hope she can end up been a good Lawyer and teach them.

  53. 53 : hankk Says:

I am rather hooked on historical Kdrama for a while now, but for the balance I like to watch a modern one too once in a while.
Not flowerboy-drama’s or a regular chaebol-family versus poor family.

I hesitated with this one, but as usual, within the first 10 minutes you know if the drama is the one you want to watch.
Well, Heard It Through The Grapevine is my favorite modern drama for now !

Seo Bom is the perfect timid girl, that knows all the good manners, but will nevertheless have the last, whispered word after a long tirade from her in-law parents.

    The whole cast is perfect.
I like the fact that there is a main story, and there are main couples, but in fact all the things that happen in the staff-circles are as important.
    And as funny !

  54. 54 : Carmarie Says:

Thanks CoolBeans, I did not know all of the background. It makes me like this drama all the more.

  55. 55 : dood Says:

    Seo Bom is annoying…

  56. 56 : Carmen Says:

I did not knew this was cut to 30 episode….OMG….Good End….love it

  57. 57 : Pedro Azinhais Mendes - Brasil Says:

I agree with Carmen…..very good and interesting end

  58. 58 : Amor Says:

Why in the world it ended at episode 30? It is supposed to be 32 episodes. I feel cheated.

  59. 59 : Carmarie Says:

I loved this drama, and I do not know why they cut it down to 30 episodes.
I have two K-drama lists, one for historical dramas and one for modern dramas. I Heard It Through the Grapevine is now number one on my modern K-drama list. This drama was refreshing, funny and realistic. I loved the last scene where the father ended up coming home to an empty house. His righteous attitude, cheating, and underhanded practices ran everyone way.

I hope other K-dramas take a cue from this drama and stop with the women who are used and abused by the mother-in-law and have husbands who condone it; or, just because someone tells them to, leave their partner, never thinking about how much it hurts the one they left. If there is no other take-away from this drama, I hope that other writers will pick-up on the fact that couples do have obstacles in their relationships, but they don’t run off, but work through them. Writers please allow your characters to grow up and behave as adults. You can produce a good show without the mindless woman scenario.

Thank you Heard it Through the Grapevine for an well written adult drama…way to go! The actors, writers and director all did a fantastic job.

  60. 60 : choopatiu Says:

This drama was good, the actors played their characters really well,no over acting or unnecessary cuteness and comedy spills.Seo Bom character was believable, she’s not your “typical” korean beauty but she fits the character really well.In sang was amazing too,ive watched lee joon on Gap dong n his character as In sang was a totally different,it only proves that he is versatile as an actor. And the rest of the cast were good too.
I jut wished they ended this drama showing us what happened to the characters after while,2 more episodes would have been perfect.Anyways,i loved it still.

  61. 61 : Navi Says:

Does anybody know the name of the theme song? It’s not on the soundtrack… desperately trying to find it!!

  62. 62 : Fullheart5 Says:

Thoroughly enjoyed this drama. Like the fact that the young couple stayed pretty much solid on their relationship. Thought Lee Joon did a good job.

  63. 63 : drisris Says:

I found the info for the theme song and tracks here: http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Heard_It_Through_the_Grapevine_OST

  64. 64 : drisris Says:

  65. 65 : Fullheart5 Says:

Absolutely loved this drama. Have watched it three times. It’s different but hilarious and so so interesting. Glad I have watched it several times because I was able to pick up on things I did not understand the first time. Every actor/actress did a fabulous job. No complains here, hope to find more like this drama. Oh………Lee Joon was definitely a plus in his role.

  66. 66 : renna Says:

I hate the two lovey dovey.. they really stone head and dont understand whay they did was wrong. How ever they are children who always ask everything to their parents.. and dissapointing their parents. What a shame… but this is only a drama.. i hope my children dont have the same mistake LOL

  67. 67 : MVPM Says:

This is an excellent satire but I think many missed the point of this drama; the servants, the children, the teachers and the in laws are just as bad -or worse in my opinion than the self righteous aristocrats. Even by western standards, the frog-like pregnant and latter teenage mother seems slimy, manipulative, calculating and dishonest while fueling the discord between her husband and his parents. The young lawyer and the teacher use very base and underhanded tactics and arguments to manage and confuse the apparently mentally challenged rich boy into betraying his father. Their real motives directed at placating their pinup envy and ambition for control while formally appealing at the half-baked idealism and sense of shame of the boy and others. The band of conspirators appears cowardly and opportunistic and the girl family, ignorant, lazy and dirty. All the personages reveal at some point their unscrupulous and hypocritical nature -that’s how we human are!.
In short, this is a great but disturbing portray of human society from left to right, rich to poor and clever to dummy. The dry humor alone makes it worth watching.
Anybody know other titles by this director? Hi is a genius.
