Ryu Hwayoung, her scandalous real life behavior and her twin should be ignored. She is not the main lead in this excellent drama! Her performance is mediocre at best. The best parts of this great drama are the top stars and good script. It is very clear why it is No. 1 i the ratings after seeing only 4 episodes.
Most of the characters are connected by fate and karma, The writer allows the viewer to see potential issues before they arise which gives a good feel of the direction and conflicts up ahead. The viewer is not left guessing. But, their are still surprises, passionate post drunk moments, a lot of comedy (girl fight) and lots of drama for Lee Joon. His crying tears at my heart! This is a must watch.

U should watch this guys, its so light drama.. but so loveable and touching. Family should be like this at drama..
March 29th, 2017 at 6:02 pm
I can’t wait for the father to bring Lee Joon (Son) into his family. Now it’s so intriguing to see Lee Joon hating on his father. I also can’t wait to see Lee Joon romance with Jung so min! One week two episode is too less!

Ryu Hwayoung acts so well shes super cute, comic and sexy at the same time hahaha sorry haters but she’s rising above it all!!! no matter what contorversy if u are talented and hardworking like hwayoung!! you’ll get through!!

Oh dear lord, this Mi Young is so full of self inflicted doubts and angst in everything she does, to the extent that she is such a painful sight to watch.
What’s with her?
Come on girl ! You are no more a kid. Who cares about the nasty woman who seems to be your eternal ghost haunting you. Just do your thing and live your life, girl.Take your mum as an example and learn something from her – your mum does not allow a nasty landlord to trample over her.

it’s another of kbs’s family oriented dramas on weekends, a no pressure, enjoyable to watch, like those previous ones at the same time slot. kbs posted it at you tube, english subbed. doing well so far.

Lee Yoo Ri’s character is so darn entertaining, she spices up this drama which is already superb. She seem to be having fun with the part.
April 23rd, 2017 at 2:36 pm
I love this drama, The cast is amazing. i am grateful that Lee Yoo ri was caste this caracter was fated for her, i need this more than twice episode per week. I love the main cast. Waiting for Mi Young and Joong Hee story line to develop. The soccer coach must improve his acting skills, Ryu Hwa Young so so there is something in her acting that not convince me.

Speed of this drama is good, good acting by parents and the oldest daughter, while other female & male actors are so-so. Personal relationships in today’s dramas are quite disappointing. The morality of Korean society and culture is going bankrupt – where cohabiting is rationalized from economic and financial perspectives] to justify before marriage. That’s what happened in the US – save money on rent! The divorce rate in the states? 1st Marriage ends in 50% divorce; 2nd ends in divorce 75%; 3rd ends 95% of the time. Kids go through multiple step-families. Good luck following American culture. Downgrading of family values in entertainment TV & movies have lost audience in the US, and Koreans will too tune out dramas if it continues. And what image are these writers telling the world with young Korean women DRINKING constantly like uneducated classless idiots whenever life throws curve balls? It degrades Korean women, and lowers Korean culture. Read alcoholism is high in Korea, no wonder. Thank these writers and directors selling boos on TV. And where are the alpha males in Korea? Many father characters wear aprons cooking, and busy trying to be nurturing women, and women trying to be the men. Ain’t gonna work, like trying to put square into peg. Men are different, women are different. Respect it. Embrace it. Love it. Writers, don’t tell me about a trashy drunken society that’s Korea. Write drama stories of descent, honest and respectable citizens of Korea; how they live and love and fight wrongs. Tell me the truth, but skip the moral trash.
April 24th, 2017 at 8:41 pm
@USA: well said! and some u.s. viewers comment that they prefer to watch s.k. dramas than their local soap operas. they’d be in for a surprise sooner or later. what i really can’t understand, but it’s probably a very common practice, is the drinking – like in almost all s.k. dramas i’ve watched. i guess cirrhosis is not prevalent yet.
April 25th, 2017 at 1:21 am
@tigerb – thank you. Americans are turning to Korean dramas because of trash TV, lying media and culturally/spiritually corrupt Hollywood. Soon, Korean writers will turn off Koreans & Americans too with trashy dramas. Do these crazy nutjob writers really think by having women boozing up – the way Korean men used to – will change the very nature of women? Putting men in aprons cooking to make them women? Korean audience isn’t stupid. Been watching 5-7 dramas lately, and have more women drinking – it’s really disgusting. And these are the mothers of this country for the next generation? Scary. And yes, liver cirrhosis is high in Korea. Soon Korea will be known as the Alcoholic Drunken country with crazy neighbor Kim. Unfortunately Californians will be living ‘high’ in drugs. Korean youth doesn’t have the money to do drugs, yet. I’m certain Korean writers will be the first to introduce it as they’re doing a fine job promoting alcohol, and creating the country’s image of drunks cohabiting with no moral compass! Oh I stopped watching all dramas except Golden Pouch (no drinking, no trash) Hope you find good dramas to enjoy.
April 29th, 2017 at 10:08 pm
Yup…i agree with the new comments…they should stop alcoholic scene…that drinking behavior are too much…
Btw i love to see love line between ra young n that coach…the director should put an extra scenes for them after this…
May 3rd, 2017 at 2:52 pm
@USA: just read your response. i was enjoying s.k. dramas to an extent but found that some plots are more or less the same. the writers are probably running out of original korean drama ideas that they resort to basing plots from western movies and dramas, and i’ve proven that so far (one was ‘bel ami’). has the s.k. culture really changed, or, is their media, through dramas and movies, influencing it? the world is getting smaller with nothing new to learn! i’ll look for ‘golden pouch’. when i get tired of dramas, i watch documentaries, and scanning synopses of oncoming dramas to decide if i should watch them or not.
@Jessy: with you, USA, and my comment, and hopefully some others, i wish the writers would tone down the alcohol part in future dramas.
May 8th, 2017 at 12:03 pm
@USA: “The morality of Korean society and culture is going bankrupt . . . Good luck following American culture.” Agreed. But I think it isn’t the core American culture so much rather the effect of Marxism foisted on education and the media that’s leading America and South Korea down a path of moral abandon. Just my observation as an outsider.
I think when young minds are indoctrinated by an ideology hostile to their Judeo-Christian values then the rot sets in and the society is fucked in every way — economically, socially and individual happiness.
May 11th, 2017 at 1:54 am
Jung so min ssi you look good with short hair style
May 14th, 2017 at 9:30 am
@Gaebong – agreed. US has been leading the way to remove God from families, kids, and all level of governments.
*1963 – the US Supreme Court ruled to end School Prayers in classrooms.
*1973 – the Supreme Court legalized the killing of unborn allowing the abortion industry to thrive by selling aborted baby parts at price for research.
*2005 – the Supreme Court ok’d to remove the Ten Commandments from the govt (federal, state, cities) buildings & public areas.
US education system fell under the Liberal Socialists and Feminizes. More American college kids today are Socialists and Atheists thanks to such teachers & professors, media, Hollywood – that abandon God. Groups that once fought courageously for justice for minorities, are now suing small towns & schools throughout US instead to remove the Christmas Tree and Nativity Scene during the Christmas season. Active Left Socialists and Atheists in the US want to kick God out, and they’re coming just like they brought abortion to S.K. It’s hard to believe America was founded on Judeo-Christian values.
May 16th, 2017 at 5:41 pm
@USA Well said.
May 19th, 2017 at 1:37 pm
It’s great to see Lee Joon with a new drama. Add this drama to the watchlist. “Joong Hee is an actor who used to be a member of an idol group” feel like this character is written for Lee Joon, I also really like national mother Kim Hae Sook >.<
May 21st, 2017 at 8:22 am
I enjoy this drama. I always looking forward the first daughter scene.
June 3rd, 2017 at 9:43 pm
USA @ 17 I posed this question on the Soompi thread several years ago and no one has been able to provide me with legitimate response. Name one Korean drama, adult drama–not kids, where one of the primary characters don’t get drunk. No one has been able to provide me with the name of one drama. It is extremely sad that Korean dramas encourage young women getting falling down drunk is something very normal. US television has turned into rated R tv at times and someone mentioned the “lying media” (not as much as the bald face lying coming out of the Whitehouse), is one of the reasons I like watching Korean dramas; but the drunks turn me off.
June 5th, 2017 at 1:04 pm
Please tell me the singer/s and title/s from this series.
June 6th, 2017 at 3:54 pm
Love this drama. OMG so in love with the elder sisters character Byun Hye Young. Every family needs a girl like that 😀
June 6th, 2017 at 4:44 pm
i dont like Joong Hee cos he is so full of himself & kinda of annoying…. same goes for Mi Young… she is over-reacting always! she is always LOUD & ANNOYING… no wonder they are a MATCH.. hahahaha! i hope they can change them into something more lovable.
the only best part is Hye Young & Jung Hwan… their romance is more interesting..
June 10th, 2017 at 7:37 am
love this drama 😊
June 15th, 2017 at 8:57 pm
I watch with my roommate and we have different couple the most shock is one of my friend said that he love father and mother couple she said that couple is have a pure love
June 18th, 2017 at 6:16 pm
@Yura 33: if you mean han soo and young shil, i agree with your friend’s comment that they have pure love, considering what they went through. young shil loved him for what he was and is, they don’t have any secrets from each other, and have always supported each other. i think that will be proven in the future when the truth comes out how han soo assumed his dead friend’s name, and that would be a shocker to all members of his family, including the in laws.
June 23rd, 2017 at 12:05 am
Lee Yoo Ri is perfect for the character Hye Young.
June 26th, 2017 at 4:31 pm
i like this drama i just got disappointed when i watch about min ha who is bright kid i don’t get it why he can’t get to study to the school that he wants coz most students who are intelligent can get scholarships where they can still study whiteout paying anything or just paying a small amount. the writer of this drama sucks. maybe they don’t know about scholarships grant for intelligent students
June 26th, 2017 at 5:05 pm
@czarinah: i think the writer wants to involve the other members of the cast (to fill sub-plots and lengthen series), maybe he/she wants the grandmother join the tv show and she would win and the money prize can for the grandchild’s tuition fee??
June 28th, 2017 at 12:12 pm
Who is paired here with the lead actor lee joon? Anyone knows? Thanks
July 3rd, 2017 at 3:33 pm
@Maja: Jung So Min who’s playing Mi-Young is paired up with Lee Joon 🙂
July 3rd, 2017 at 5:21 pm
i like this drama but i don’t like what their mom says on ep 35 where she doesn’t want to tell the truth where the dad wants to be free. its best to tell d truth now like its better late than never besides their kids r all grown ups now and they have a lawyer daughters she can defend them.
July 3rd, 2017 at 10:28 pm

Really love to watch this drama very much. I have finished watching episode 22 and found that, the family consist of all different characters of all the family members. They can quarrel, yet, very united and loving.
Almost every episode, I can have a very good laugh. Very funny, comedy, touching and sometimes a lot of funny nonsense.

This is one of the best family drama that I have seen, the storyline development and each character is so well portrayed that it give the drama its own character. I normally would wait till a drama complete before attempting to watch it, but now that I started I can’t wait to stop for the next episode and how the family would resolve their problem. It is a heart warming drama and hoping that the writer would do justice to the ending.

I don’t like the two mothers here… Hye young’smother was the evil one because she did not want to divulge the truth about the identity switching…..the husband is feeling guilty already but she is so evil and selfish … The second mother I hate is Jung hwan’s mother…. Another evil one.. She looks down on the poor I just hate her character here… The husband has reasons to divorce her…. And she deserves that…. It’s not like the mother became like that because of her husband’s shortcomings……. The ending I like? Jung hwan’s parents get divorced!!! Hye young’smother mother gets to pay for her crime because I think she is the cause of it all…

For me that is the justice I want towards the end .., one mother really committed a crime no excuses…. The other mother really has a bad character she deserves to be divorced…. I hate the two mothers … Very bad

this series portrays couples, partnerships, and different situations, etc. and how these people handle/confront the issues at hand. may not be real, but one can learn a lesson from them.

Lee Yoo Ri did very well in this drama. I like her acting. Keep it up! Fighting!

I really don’t find it entertaining watching joong her and mi young love story. Miyoung is over acting. their love team is a not amusing and convincing. when its they act together with their liking with each other i skip their part.

August 7th, 2017 at 4:28 pm
up to ep. 46: hye young’s in laws provide hilarity while one family is torn in many directions in this time of crisis. but one thing sure, the solid foundation of love this family is built up brings them through.

I really hate miyoung she sided with the guy instead of her parents. i don’t even watch het part with joong her i don’t like her acting. i jus happened to see her part with her sisters and what??? she’s defending joong hee??? hello!!! i don’t like the way u act or ur not even natural
August 8th, 2017 at 2:51 pm
all miyoung care about is joong hee joong hee and nothing but joong hee. i hate her. ur such a flirt!!
August 10th, 2017 at 8:39 am
It’s true at the first miyoung care about Ahn joong hee because she love him..and she feel betrayed by her father cause she love him too…so I think it was the usual thing happens…
August 15th, 2017 at 11:15 am
I don’t know why ppl. hate Miyoung acting and her reaction and what they hate her because she sided with Joonhee. I feel her reaction was most realistic first she loves him so much and second her parents have done him wrong they should have at least told him from the beginning. Last, they treated him so good and he loved them so much and it is the worst to get hurt from the ppl. who were good to u.
Miyoung, Joonhee and the rest of the cast Fighting!!
Thank U a lot for your hard work

The best Kdrama 2017 so far! All casts doing their parts really well. Such a nice experience to watch drama with great heartwarming story, great acting of the leads. Making people laugh and cry in each episode. Two thumbs up for director, screen writer, all casts especially Lee Yu Ri and Lee Joon. I love Ahn Jong hee and Mi Young story, its all naturall and not in rush. I love all characters in the Byun Family and supporting roles. This is a High Quality KDrama. Hope it will win much awards!

Miyoung the character grew up as a victim of bullying so she suffers from a lack of confidence in herself and she is naive about boy and girl relationships. I thought Jung So Min’s portrayal of the character is just right. I don’t see any over acting. She has obviously become a really fine actress.

I literally cried bcoz this drama will end real soon, but then I just saw that the episodes are 52 instead of 50 and YESSSS!!!! but seriously cant get enough of this drama. This is just too good to finish😭 Love every single thing about this drama, hope they win a lot of awards!❤❤❤

@#68 Nonuts
I agree with that. She grew up with no self-confidence, but her character grew.
In the lasts 2 ep, she was confident enough, to make those first moves, when usually it was always Ahn Joong Hee initiating all skinships.

ep. 46, the drama writers are making Korean look very violent. the Koreans I know they aren’t like that.
August 29th, 2017 at 11:45 pm
everything went well in the last two episodes, as expected. while i can understand the retrial of the falsely accused crime, i didn’t quite get the resolution of the identity theft. he’s found guilty, to be imprisoned for six months, but on probation for two years. would the punishment have been worse if the ex-wife, or the son of the deceased sued? i was more interested in the legal aspects on that case, but,oh well, this is just a drama after all. it’s still a good watch.

Lee Yoo Ri is AMAZING! She played this role flawlessly! Also, Lee Joon is so talented… singing, dancing, acting. I can’t wait to see him in his next role. He is so versatile. Loved this family drama. Really, everyone was great but the two mentioned above are phenomenal.

The characters got on my nerves at time and the writer made a mountain out of a molehill, it was still a good drama. I enjoyed it.
