RLOL…lovesickness…talking out loud to yourself! This drama makes me want to ’embrace’ it if that makes sense to anyone on this thread. Its among the BEST dramas that I’ve seen this year. Thank you…Thank you…Thank you Gugu for recommending it to me!

CEO Cha and Na Ae Ra…actually, there are simply no words to describe their excellent acting and chemistry…really…no words! Everyone’s acting in this drama is phenomenal, and I’m just on ep. 13!

  2. 302
    usa-mary Says:

Well, this we know for sure. Kim Jung Won can’t keep what he overhears to himself even if it meant his life. Forget about mentioning to him when its a secret. He’s a walking, breathing ipad, iphone, tablet, billboard, morse code, smoke signals, cirrus, tele-type, twitter, radio and any other device used to broadcast news.

  3. 303
    usa-mary Says:

AMAZING! THIS DRAMA IS SIMPLY AMAZING!

  4. 304
    Gugu Says:

@usa-mary: Weeeeee!! You managed to watched it!! Its too sweet right this drama. Its the only one that i cld watch over and over without getting bored. All the characters plays well and no one there is particularly annoying or mean. Glad you love them too.

    usa-mary Says:

@Gugu-304: Managed to watch it? Chingua, I’m on my second time around and enjoying it even more!!!

There are soooo many funny scenes in this drama. I truly agree with you about watching it over and over without getting bored. I especially like the scene when Ae Ra was talking to that tall, plastic ad figure. That was hilarious. It reminded me of an experience that I had one time when riding public transportation. A man was sitting perpendicular to me in a seat. He pulled out a small packet of trail mix or nuts and offered to someone in the seat next to him. It would have been fine if the seat was occupied. It was empty. Then, he pulled out a bottle of vodka, but didn’t offer that to his imaginary guest. LOL The stories I can tell you.

    usa-mary Says:

@Gugu-304: Managed to watch it? Chingua, I’m on my 2nd time around already. I totally agree with you. This is one drama that I can watch over and over again without getting bored. Ohhh, there’s a few characters that I could poke fun at, but since the drama has ended, I’ll pass.

I must point out that there are some hilarious scenes in this drama. I’ve found that we can only share so much on this thread now a days. It wasn’t like that 4 years ago. Of course, I wouldn’t reveal the end, but I do enjoy commenting on funny scenes.

  7. 307
    Gugu Says:

@usa-mary: 2nd time already!! Tell me about it.. I watch this drama whenever i could not zzzz. They made me all warm n fuzzy with love. Am so glad you love them. Another drama similar to this is Emergency Couple. But that drama gets a tad boring in the middle till abt epi 13. I do repeat that drama but from epi 15onwards only.

  8. 308
    usa-mary Says:

@Gugu-307: Yes…can you believe that! I actually pulled a night owl. Something I don’t practice doing often, because I need my beauty sleep. Besides that, dark under eye circles are only cute on panda bears. LOL Now, I’m watching a little each day and its even better since I’m not sleepy. When I think about the leads, the word ‘chemistry’ doesn’t even enter into my mind. The best word that comes to mind is natural. So, natural that I’m singing everyone’s praises.

  9. 309
    Gugu Says:

@usa-mary: Hahaha… I pulled an all nighter for CSL too the first round. Then went to work and when i got home, was too tired to zzz. The very next day was down with fever and all sorts of allergies dropped by. I loved this drama as they concentrate on the main cast and few selctd ones. Best is meanie characters are kept at minimal. I laugh and cry with them so much. Can’t get enough of them. This is definitely an awwwwww factor drama.

  10. 310
    usa-mary Says:

@Gugu-309: I watched it around my work schedule, too. I also felt it the next day when trying to work. That’s why I don’t do that often or from now on…at all. I agree about the focus on the main characters and not the meanies. There were a few. The office worker who stole AR’s story, Seung Hyun and Yeo Jin’s appa (an evil man). Basically, that’s about it. The Team Leader, Ji Hyun, was wishy-washy towards her…giving her assignments no other intern was given. Yet, with her own tenacity, Yeo Jin having her back, SH’s constant help and Jung Woo’s help with the hotel marriage theme proposal, she proved that team leader wrong. Other than that, I can’t think of any other meanies. Well, I’ll add her brother for stealing her money. He’s not a very bad sort, just inconsiderate (which is bad enough). I see where AR got her spunk from…her mother. That woman threw whatever vegetable that was in her hands at either her husband or son. She didn’t care if it was during business hours or not. LOL.

That pose AR’s brother struck as her roommate opened the door was hilarious! Is that supposed to be suave or what? I see Korean male actors using that pose from time to time, as if to allure. I wonder where that originated?

  11. 311
    Gugu Says:

@usa-Mary: Hahaha… I think they dramatize the pose. Must hv learned from musicals as they need extravagant movements to express their emotions n actions. But all the characters facial expressions are the best. Love Joo Sang Wook after watching him in Qualifications of Men. He is a chatty clutz in real life. Super adorable.

  12. 312
    usa-mary Says:

@Gugu-311: LOL! I know its exaggerated, its just so funny wherever I see it. I believe the first time I saw that pose was in the drama I Do I Do. I can’t recall who was daydreaming at the time, but Kim Sun Ah had a gyne doctor who liked her and in the dream he struck the same pose while trying to seduce her. I might check out Qualifications of Men. Joo Sang Wook is an excellent actor. If you don’t mind, where did you see that he’s a chatty clutz in real life. I’d like to read about that if it’s in English. Thank you.

  13. 313
    usa-mary Says:

Before I seriously comment about my re-watch, I just have to laugh about the following…PLASTIC FLOWER! LOL That’s what love sickness is called? Hopefully, it was interpreted correctly. Anyway, its still cute!

I’m going to comment on Yeo Jin’s disability. I’m somewhat aware of the cultural differences between the U.S. and S.K., yet when it comes to perfection and beauty, how its perceived and accepted is very interesting to me on both sides. Here in the U.S., a person with a disability or even divorced is not labeled used or damaged goods. People with disabilities get married have children and live very normal lives. I have seen perfectly healthy people without disabilities marry a person in a wheel chair, with or without a limb missing. Even blind couples marry. Some blind people marry seeing people. The same applies to deaf/deaf mutes. People are more apt to search for a good-hearted person to love and if that person just happens to have a disability, some will pursue a relationship with that person. Though its not for everyone, it can and is does happen here, often.

  14. 314
    usa-mary Says:

Oops…that last sentence should read, it can and does happen here, often.

  15. 315
    Gugu Says:

@usa-mary: You will hv to watch Qualifications of men to see the clutzy n chatty side of him. Totally adorable him. And whiny at times. Got teased by the senior members of the show often. Its difficult to find a good sub for that show though. KBS world youtube does not upload cancelled programs thus there is no where i can re-watched the show.

And you are lucky to be living in the States. Sadly Asian culture are totally different. If we do not get married by certain age here esp ladies, we are being labelled too. Its stressful living here. Hehehee..

I love CEO Cha love sickness too. He is so childish seeking for attention. Really love this drama. Cheers.

  16. 316
    usa-mary Says:

@Gugu-315: Awww…sweetie…Fighting! Questions and concerns from parents about getting married varies in degrees over here. Even though I’m not Asian, we actually experience the same ‘when’ questions as you do; yet, its not to the same extent of pressure as the Asian culture. After a while, the questions sort of fizzles away. The majority of women innately do want to marry early and a lot of them do compared to a few that marry late. Women here also marry their neighborhood/grade school oppa, college sweetheart or sometimes get suggestively match-maked via family or friends. That is, if the guy is a really good catch, overall.

Being single in the work place doesn’t carry the same weight or viewpoint as it does in Asian countries. Management isn’t hoping to see you get married off only to move a fresh, young, new body in your place. If you’re qualified to do the work, stay as long as you like. If a woman gets married and has a child, she can continue to work. It usually depends on what she and her husband agreed upon. Though the U.S. is still considered a patriarchal society, it has become somewhat flexible over the last 70+ years. Yet, there’s still the looming of morals/values having precedence in the home/work culture which is a very good thing. Some women do sometimes face subtle challenges in the work place’s culture after experiencing a divorce or becoming a single mom while there, but that depends on the people around her and how she weathers the storm. The CEO and execs could care less. Just do the job, be on time and don’t miss work often.

I’m going to look for Qualifications of Men.

CEO Cha became a totally different person after he found out that Se Dong had a suitor…in the form of Seung Hyun. His entire demeanor changed during his pursuit of her. I enjoyed how he went from the CEO portrayal to the wooing, I want you persona. Ready to kiss at a blink of an eye. LOL That camouflaged wink during the meeting was adorable. The pointing to the roof to meet gesture when among of other people was priceless. The holding hands in the elevator was hilarious! The Team Leader thought she was being sexually harassed! LOL at the hand spasm!

  17. 317
    usa-mary Says:

@Gugu-315: I researched Qualifications of Men and found it was a variety show, just as you stated. That’s okay, I’ll enjoy watching him in the kdramas and kmovies.

  18. 318
    Gugu Says:

@usa-mary: Thanks for cheering. its difficult to see or hear any men when i m totally engrossed with kdrama actors and the story lines. No one seems to come close to kdrama actors! My mum says my head is living in the clouds if i m hoping to settle down with someone that looks like any of those i adores! So best is to stick with work, friends and watching kdramas. I will try and see whether i manage to find link for Qualifications of men for you. Will keep you posted if any.

Cunning Single Lady supporter all the way. Hope they will win some awards this year end. Even the OSTs are to-die for. Hv made them into rings tones for all my phones and ipad! If any MBC staff is reading, my vote is for Best OST, Best Couple Award, Best supporting actor Seo Kang Jun and better as Drama of the year for MBC. Jjang!!

  19. 319
    usa-mary Says:

@Gugu-318: You’re welcome. We women have to be our own cheerleader and each others at times. The good, kind, loving single men do exist…they’re just being obscure; watching and waiting. I believe when you’re ready, you’ll receive your hearts desire…both in looks, financially-as a provider, and quality of character. Girlfriend, it pays to keep your eyes and ears open. I, too, had the thought that only the most finest, handsome men are the chosen kdrama actors…not so. A few years ago, when visiting my dad in the VA hospital, a young intern who was part of a team that checked on my dad stopped by to see him and another patient. He was Korean (I saw his name tag). Girlfriend, he was tall, built (yes, I could tell through his white lab coat-hehehe), young, and fine (BELIEVE ME). He introduced himself to me and let me know he was checking on my father. We chatted a bit, then he left. More and more I’ve been seeing young Korean men over here, and they are very handsome young men, too. So, if the few over here are equivalent to a small pond, you have an ocean to choose from where you’re at when the time is right. So, take your time and be encouraged. He’ll find you. From your lips to God’s ears.

I totally agree with you about the awards for CSL and the OSTs. The song about the elevator is good dancing music. It was so funny while listening to that song Seong Woo got the inkling to enclose the glass elevators and Ae Ra reminded him about the CCTV cameras. LOL Chingua, when Ae Ra gets drunk, she’s the funniest and best drunk woman that I’ve seen in a kdrama. Telling SW what are those big candles doing in his fireplace and not to play with fire inside. LOL

Guess what? I found Qualifications of Men on Youtube. (Posted segments of the show are allowed, but the show in its entirety can’t without permission.) People posted segments of the show and many of them have JSW in them and they’re funny, too. Check it out.

  20. 320
    Gugu Says:

@usa-mary: Good for you. My place here have non of what you describe but maybe I am not opening my eyes to really see. Hahahaha..

Let’s wait and see for the awards show as it will be in Dec if am not mistaken. Hopefully CSL wins.

As to Qualification of men, lucky you. I tried in youtube but they are clippings and it annoys me as I would like to watch the whole entire epi. I followed it religiously when it is shown over the tv back then. Misses how Joo Sang Wook is in variety show.

@Gugu-320: I hope I didn’t offend you or make you feel uncomfortable with my sharing? I sometimes share what I believe may be helpful info to others and am receptive to helpful info when given to me. I apologize if I didn’t perceive correctly.

I look forward to the awards outcome.

I watched a little of the triathlon where JSW and some of the other men from the show participated. I’ve adapted to watching clips or segments of shows where intellectual property rights are imposed. If not, we’d have to pay to watch it in its entirety. So, the segments are okay.

  22. 322
    Gugu Says:

@usa-mary: no offense taken. No worries. Places as such are for sharing. Cheersss.

  23. 323
    usa-mary Says:

Just because Mr. Gook invested money into Jung Woo’s business, he believes that he owns him and can strike him as if he’s his child. Jung Woo ‘politely’ states that he will not marry Yeo Jin and this man reacts this way?! Unbelievable. There’s a songwriter/musician that wrote and performed a song years ago with the following lyrics…”I don’t won’t nobody giving me nothing. Open up the door…I’ll get myself.” JW only was obligated according to their contractual agreement If YJ was included in that contract, it was to work at the company in her current role. I’m quite sure nowhere did it mention marriage. Only in Mr. Gook’s warped thinking would he include his daughter. Besides, that man’s selfish, childish, stubborn and has no tact.

  24. 324
    rr66 Says:

@usa-mary You can watch Qualifications of Men here, I too became a super fan of Joo Sang Wook after watching him in QOM, I guarantee that you would love him even more. http://kshowonline.com/category/29/qualifications-of-men/3, start from ep. 173 onwards.

  25. 325
    usa-mary Says:

@rr66-324: Kamsa hamida! I added it to my favorite’s bar. We JSW fans have to stick together..hehehe! He’s an excellent actor.

I finished watching the final episode of this drama on Nov. 3rd. It’s sooo good! That scene where AR wakes up in JW’s bed after being drunk and JW pretending to have a vague, fuzzy recollection of what happened. Yeah, right! His eyes and expressions tells it all…LOL What’s really hilarious is when, knowing he’s in the buff, threw off the comforter to help her up from the floor…LOL! Looking all sheepish…saying, “Oh!” LOL Shame on him.

  26. 326
    usa-mary Says:

If anyone watches this drama…please do so on Viki.com. I guarantee that you won’t regret it. Okay, I realize there’s ads, but the commenters are well worth enduring the ads.

Watched 8 episodes so far and its soooooooooooo good, portrayed the divorced couples extremely well, makes me laugh and cry. Watch a couple kdrama this year and 2 of them are on the final best kdrama of the year list. I must say though this is far more interesting than those 2 and others that I have watched this year. Stayed up all night to watch it coz its just that good.
