Say hello to Im Soo Jung, her first drama after 13 years since her last drama “I’m Sorry, I Love You.” and also heard her rejected two projects before taking this one (2013 SBS “All About My Romance, and 2016-2017 SBS “Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim).
Hope in a positive one for good result. Also say Hi to Go Kyung Pyo since his last year drama “Jealousy Incarnate” (2016). Hope after this, he avoid “second lead syndrome.”

Watched the first episode and I think this drama is interesting!
April 8th, 2017 at 7:26 pm
The first 10 minutes are very boring and I doubt this drama is better than RDTK.
April 9th, 2017 at 5:43 am
This drama is really interesting. Can’t wait for next week! 🙂

There’s no evidence that the guy’s music hurts the people around him. There is evidence that the politics, ambitions and greed of those around the guy, causes misery. So why would the writer resort to putting that narrative in the mouths of the characters, when it is clear to the viewers it’s a fallacy? It diminishes the credibility and appeal of the characters themseves due to their lack of intelligence and humanity towards the main character.

This is the problem; the songwriter helped his band member friends and the company earn a lot of money. He’s the creator of the product (compositions). They (Crude Play) are essentially the “sales people” and “marketing” while the management (Sole Music) takes care of administering the business. Without the product there is no revenue; no-one gets expensive apartments and drive convertibles.
Knowing this, you would think they’d feel gratitude towards the one that created the hits. Yet they blame him for their misery. In fact, it was the politics and the greed that almost always ensues where a lot of money is made and fame and prestige are commodities.
The dude with the red convertible hates. He hates how the others make him feel like he’s not a member of the band. Whoopee-doo. He should get over it. Grouping people together don’t automatically make them close. It’s life. He can always leave and do something else if bromance is his thing. But he needs them and he needs Sole Music.
He attached himself onto a newbie and made her enter a verbal contract that limits her options to grow by working with other songwriters or producers.

I’m a korean drama addict, and I know this drama is really good cause I watch it first RAW, and then with subtitle, like I did with Goblin, Jealousy Incarnate, Another Miss Oh, Moon Lovers, etc. Don’t know why rating is not picking up, even though I know it’s Pay TV. The characters are so good, especially Yoo Ah In. And he is such a fashionista! Love the clothes he wears. Wishing them the best! Fighting!
April 19th, 2017 at 10:56 am
I don’t know why but I want to know more about what happened in 1930 rather than their current story right now. Han Se Ju’s character is so not my cup of tea.
April 19th, 2017 at 9:22 pm
Hannah, I agree with you. The script is running too much in circles of the present time. Han’s character does not make audiences like him. In fact, I like Yoo Ah In a lot so it makes me frustrated watching it.
April 22nd, 2017 at 6:40 am
I love the actors especially Yoo Ah In! I hate the mediocre script that is taking baby steps to build the characters and layout the scenario. Uggh! I really wish they would stop making average dramas that try to have both past and future events, like Siamdang, and fail to present an interesting story in both the past and future scenarios. The foster brother, or is it half brother, went from envious to evil. We know because he throws a cat who wants to play with him. Is this really necessary to make him wicked when being in the shadow of the lead character is more interesting without the wickedness? At least, I had some empathy for him! Now, I can’t stand looking at him. The ghost’s character is like a wet towel, Such a waste. I hope this picks up.
April 23rd, 2017 at 8:56 pm
I watched every episode and loved it! All the actors are very good👍.
April 24th, 2017 at 5:36 am
This is just too dark for me. I guest their previous life is more frustating than the present. Even though i really curious about what was happen in their previous life, i’m afraid to know the truth.
April 25th, 2017 at 6:27 pm
Go Kyung Pyo is really promising korean actor. That’s why most of filipino who is watching korean drama loves him! Fighting!!
April 30th, 2017 at 4:08 pm
I don’t understand why they still doing time-travel style of dramas nowadays? It’s just confusing and not appealing as before using again and again. Can see viewers like me are just confused and comparing like Saimdang, Light Dairy, Tomorrow with You and Tunnel are a few examples don’t receive good ratings. They should write simple, direct understanding and mainly focus on their main points of their plots.
April 30th, 2017 at 4:29 pm
@Kool
First of all, this drama is not really time-travel style. The heroin just remembers her previous life and I think the past life is interesting because it’s set during Japanese occupation, not typical Joseon era. Tunnel is a good drama, the ratings are stable and quite similar to its precede drama, Voice.
April 30th, 2017 at 10:47 pm
This drama starts of slow, but then it catches fire! I love the way the characters bounce emotions back and forth yet continue towards building new relationships based on their past lives connections. The chemistry between the three main characters is wincingly endearing. The plot line so far has continued to add layers to the story that shed light on past events and propel the characters in the present. I think this drama has provided a good balance of mystery, surprise, angst, and humor. Totally loving it!
May 1st, 2017 at 2:13 am
I began this drama because of Yoo Ah In and Go Kyung Pyo.
The storyline is entertaining, I really like it.
It was so long to see Im Soo Jung again, but she’s always very good in acting.
We can feel the emotions between the main characters, the other cast are doing well too.
I’m waiting for what will happen now ? Which reality is behind Han Se Joo’s fathers and Jeon Seol’s fathers? Who were killed in the past? …
Good luck for all the cast and the writer…
May 1st, 2017 at 8:47 pm
The drama has a superb team of actors and actress. The story line is good. But the script is badly written and too slow. The script writer made no progress for weeks. I really love Yoo Ah In. I like all the other actors and actress. It’s a drama I expect I’ll addict to. Now I don’t know how to continue to watch it. I can’t abandon Yoo Ah In. I’ll continue to watch it. Fighting!
May 2nd, 2017 at 9:36 pm
I love this dog! He is so adorable! Even the cat is so adorable I want to Han Se Ju to adopt her.
May 4th, 2017 at 10:34 pm
It’s ridiculous how I’ve a second lead syndrome when he’s not even a human. And I love the 1930s settings, it’s so vintage and classy.
May 9th, 2017 at 5:29 am
I stopped watching this drama after the cat was injured. I cannot enjoy a drama that thinks it’s okay to abuse animals as part of the story.
May 12th, 2017 at 12:12 pm
why rating this drama so low?? is such a great drama! yo ah in is great actor. After all the story line is great we must suport this drama!! come on fighting!
May 13th, 2017 at 1:01 pm
Extremely great drama. Ignore the ratings. Just watch it. You will not regret it. Bonus point is all the three main leads are good looking. 😅…. I have a 23 year old son and yet my heart beat very fast whenever there are romantic scenes between the two main leads😘😂😅😊😍🙃🔥
May 14th, 2017 at 7:58 am
this drama really good. how the editor try to match each other story, the way screenplay, role player, not over acting, story telling. all i give 5 stars from 5 . i really love this drama….
May 14th, 2017 at 4:47 pm
The 1st & 2nd male cast is good in playing their role. The story also makes me so curious who’s kill both of them… cannot wait for the next episode…. this drama different with the others korean drama story that I ever watched
May 18th, 2017 at 1:27 am
I hope someone from TVN reads these posts because regardless of the ratings in Korea, this is the BEST drama of 2017 so far. No other drama has come close to the brilliance of this production.
May 21st, 2017 at 3:51 am
I think this drama have same thing with goblin. But Chicago Typewrite is the great drama same with Goblin. Yoo Ah In looks great with his hair style. This drama can makes the audiace think about the riddle.
Sorry for broken english.
May 21st, 2017 at 1:43 pm
I always get goosebumps watching every episodes of this drama. This is seriously the best drama I’ve ever watched. Low ratings prove that not many people understand the work of art, tsk.
May 21st, 2017 at 2:44 pm
DAEBAK!!! This drama is underrated. The synopsis didn’t do justice to the whole storyline. Me, I Love it to the bone. All the cast is great, the ost, the BGM, the storyline, the setting, the cinematography, the jokes, the quotes, the book reference and many more.
May 21st, 2017 at 3:14 pm
[…] from a challenging week, I reward myself by watching ongoing kdrama. Currently obsessed with Chicago Typewriter which is very underrated, IMHO. This drama is superb. It definitely will be one of the best drama in […]

The big question is
Why the rating is low?
Even in the pay tv channel but the rating is too low
what’s wrong with korean netizen
Don’t sleep guys this drama deserve more.
May 26th, 2017 at 7:45 am
I still haven’t finished the first the episode yet. There are far too many better dramas out there worth watching FIRST.
May 28th, 2017 at 2:51 pm
I love this drama. Brilliant scenario. Just like Tomorrow With You, how the writer connect all is superb. Great OST too.
May 30th, 2017 at 3:20 am

I knew he was the traitor.
That’s why he was punished for 80 years.
He was enclosed in the typewriter.
Instead of solving the problem, he made things worse.
Now he remembers his past, and tries to arrange the events …
This explain why he was killed by Jeon Seol, and why Jeon Seol was in pain…
June 5th, 2017 at 10:57 am
the last two episodes are so touching, i felt like crying to the bromance of Seju and Jin oh, the ending is so heartwarming and i love it, this kdrama is really worth watching for.
June 17th, 2017 at 12:53 am

I sooo love this drama! Did not expect it to be this good. It’s totally different from the typical korean dramas. Great cast and storyline. Highly recommended! 😀
June 20th, 2017 at 10:56 am
This drama is so good. It’s beautifully written. Their scripts are so deep and patriotic. I love this drama so much. Highly recommended!
June 22nd, 2017 at 11:30 pm
In fact this drama is so boring for me and I think both main actor and actress are not as well known as many other actors and actresses. I only watch till
Episode 5, took me a week to watch these 5 episodes. So I think I will give up even though I had download the whole drama with English sub. I find Ruler is a better drama and it is better for me to watch Ruler than Chicago Typewriter. Good luck to all those who like the Chicago Typewriter, it is so boring for all the 5 Chapters so I do not like t continue watching only wasting my time..LOL
June 24th, 2017 at 7:54 am
@silverswan
Everyone has their own taste and preference in drama. I agree that this drama is a lil bit slow, but it has its own meaningful messages to give to its audience. Ruler drama is good as well, but it gives the viewers the twisted plots to make us curious to know what’s gonna happen next. But if you look on the bigger side of it, Ruler has nothing to offer to us other than twisted plots to make it draggy.
And for your information, the actors and actresses here are mostly the experienced one though they may not be the “hallyu” star right now.

Daebakkk. This is a good drama. You must watch this drama. I’m so very touchable to watch this. Two thumbs up.
July 12th, 2017 at 11:31 pm
This drama is one the best Korean drama. I like the way of presenting story back and forth. People who can’t handle a dark drama might feel bore watching this drama. As most of the Korean drama fan are younger and they will like the typical romcom rather than this type of drama.
July 29th, 2017 at 1:21 am
One of few drama that i promise i’ll never forget. Good job everyone who working on this drama, you’ve gone through alot.

a very good watch! this is not a ‘run of the mill’ s.k. drama, so it’s really worth spending time to understand why three people met again at present time to settle unfinished business decades before, when the chaos of war would not allow them to be happy. there’s no point comparing this series with another that was aired at the same time, nor the actors who starred in both. everyone has his own likes/bias/prejudices/etc. etc. etc. enjoy when you can, and drop it when you can’t. also, i don’t know exactly what qualifies a ‘hallyu star’, but i consider the two male leads in this series as better actors than some guys called ‘hallyu’ stars. cheerio!

I thought Sungkyunkwan Scandal was the best Korean drama among the ones I have watched, it made me cry and laugh and entertained fully over all. It comes second now to Chicago Typewriter, it is the best, no boring episodes and I liked how it ended.
January 13th, 2018 at 10:31 pm
Second time being here, and i thought this drama was one of the most underated drama i’ve ever seen. This drama was way better than what rating says.
July 16th, 2018 at 4:15 am
Very good and catchy drama with lovely soundtrack.
I love Yoo Ah In’s acting…
A story of love and friendship..
In the end..I cried and happy at the same time.

This was a decent drama with a unique story featuring two timelines. I liked the past timeline the best which was very interesting while the modern timeline wasn’t super engaging. Still a solid drama for the most part.
March 30th, 2020 at 10:54 pm
Just finished watching the first episode while on ECQ. I’m three years late but better late than never. The storyline is very interesting and I love the actors. Can’t believe I missed this gem!
