Synopsis
Jejoongwon is the first modern hospital in Korea established in the Joseon era in 1885. Yeon Jung Hoon plays a nobleman who gives up his status to enter its ranks. Park Yong-woo plays a butcher’s son who becomes a physician, while Han Hye-jin enters Jejoongwon as an interpreter but takes on medical training to become a doctor.

this is super great.two-thumbs up for jejungwon cast and staff.
i can’t help but cry when hwang jung proposed to yu seok ran, very romantic especially when hwang jung cried while proposing, very sincere….i admire the main actor, actress and their character too….very realistic.keep it up korean, i have a lot of korean dramas dvd collection.i’m planning of visiting korea in the future……thanks everyone.sarang hamnida:-)

This is a very inspiring drama. I have still 10 episodes to go but I am thoroughly hooked on the nobility and courage of Hwang Jung to save lives even if he puts his own at risk. The emotions showed by the actors are so authentic.
The proposal scene between Hwang Jung and Seok Ran is hands-down for me the most beautiful and moving love scene I have ever witnessed in movies or dramas, and the minimal dialogue was just perfect. I have found myself weeping during several scenes, including this one. And I have cheered during every victory of Hwang Jung.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this drama. HHJ proves that she is really an exquisite actress. The role of Baek Do Yang must be difficult to act. I couldn’t decipher whether he was a sympathetic character or not. Just when you want to hate him, he does something good.

I’M CURRENTLY ON EPISODE 10 AND SO FAR FOR ME, THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING DRAMA. ITS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER EACH EPISODES AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS DRAMA TO THOSE WHO ENJOY KOREAN HISTORICAL DRAMA.
THE ACTORS ARE BRILLIANT AND THERE’S NO DRAGGING PARTS LIKE MOST OF HISTORICAL DRAMAS. THIS IS A STORY WHICH U’LL ENJOY EVERY SCENES AND DIALOGUES AND I HOPE I WILL BE THIS OR MORE ENTERTAIN TILL THE END OF THE STORY. AND ALSO HOPING THIS WILL END BEAUTIFULLY UNLIKE MOST KOREAN DRAMA WHICH QUITE DISAPPOINTING BY THE END,
ANYWAY, CREDIT TO THE EVERYBODY INVOLVE IN THIS DRAMA ESPECIALLY THE ACTORS AND WRITER.

This is an unique drama that based on korean great medical history. This story is mainly based on previous caste during Joseon era where low-born were being humilitated by noble. The interesting part is that how a low-born class man (a butcher) struggling to death to become a great doctor while no one knew he is not one from noble class. And this man ( Hwang Jung) compete to his rival (baek Do Yang) in medical studies under guidance from west. Romance between Hwang Jung and sweet Seok Ran ( she is the 1st gynecologist in Korea). I would like to recommend this to everyone… Cheer!!
