I’m going to try and watch this for Cha Eun Woo. Let’s hope Shin Se Kyung’s acting has improved…
June 14th, 2019 at 3:49 pm
Watching for shin se kyung 🙂 I’m always looking forward to your dramas. I seriously hope those internet bullies keep their cruel and mean comments to themselves and if they don’t I hope they meet mean people like themselves in real life who put them down every step of their life. Fighting SSK

Im so excited for this drama and looking forward for a new historical for Shin Se Kyung. She is truly one of the few Korean actress who looks amazing in historical.

Hi Everyone,
I am a University student doing currently my dissertation on how Korean tv drama influences potential tourists to visit Korea. I would be glad, if you could complete my questionnaire. It takes around 5 minutes to complete. Thank you and I appreciate it in advance.

I’m really looking forward to this drama. Shin Se Kyung and Cha Eun Woo look beautiful together!
June 30th, 2019 at 11:25 am
Can’t wait for Shin Se Kyung new historical. I love her in historical. She was the best face for these traditional Korean customs. No other actress can compete with that.
July 12th, 2019 at 10:13 pm
Shin Se Kyung is an excellent actress. that’s why she gets the best leading men. love these two leads.

I get so annoyed when English translators use the word “skies” as substitute for the word “heavens”. Why don’t the use the correct word. One might think these translators are living in a Orwellian virtual reality.

@admin..There are two Jung Hwan in the character listed , I guess the other one should be Jung chan since I saw him already in the first episode ..

This drama is not being shown in Redlands, California. Instead MBC is showing Radiant Office!!!!
I was looking for to Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung!!! It’s a nice change from present to historical kdramas!!!
I didn’t even get to see the end of One Spring Night. Just got to see 16 episodes. It was taken off the air.
July 26th, 2019 at 4:04 pm
@ Diane —
Same thing is happening here in the Chicago area as I mentioned to you on the One Spring Night sight.
On top of that, when Blessing Of the Sea finished, they are now airing Special Labor Inspector Jo which just finished airing May 28. I thought that was a great drama, loved the story and cast, but who wants to see all these re-runs???
If they are going to show re-runs why don’t they show some dramas from 10 years ago that maybe people have not seen???
Wonder what is going on with MBC. It is going down hill as far as I am concerned. I am not happy about this at all.
Wonder how many people are watching Everybody Say Kungdari that is airing around 8:00 a.m. Monday – Friday???? I have not seen any of it.
I don’t have time to watch all these shows on the computer.

@Diane and @ Drama fan, I’m not sure if u have Netflix, but it’s being aired on Netflix. I watch it there. However, I do watch many other dramas at kissasian and dramafever. U can check both sites to watch the newest dramas for free.

Dramafever has been taken down!

I dont think i will continue watching this drama,, i think its too boring both the character or the storyline, not much progress…

I love this drama so much. I can’t wait for next week to see what coming next. Seriously, it’s an amazing drama. Simple yet deep. It presents very important issues that even relevant to our life’s today in a funny way, yet tell us something in issues related to class classifications and rich vers poos, lack of appreciation for women even when they put more effort than men in work place etc…. I personally love Goo Hae Ryun. She is my favorite heroine in kdrama. She is intelligent and strong but not in your face strong. She is not afraid to take risk and make mistakes and handle the consequences of her actions. That’s to me an amazing example of a woman that should be in Kdrama- not the normal silly dismal in distress crying type of girl. I hope they make a second season of the drama. I like to see female characters like that. Too bad the drama is kinda of considered average in Korea. It’s an amazing work that we won’t see like again very soon.

September 9th, 2019 at 1:50 pm
why are there no episodes for Sept 18 and 19?
September 11th, 2019 at 7:53 am
@ hermannie, it’s a korean holiday. They r not airing most dramas this week.
September 11th, 2019 at 8:37 am
@Diana, @DramaFan, I believe @Sarasa is right about Netflix, BUT it’s because its being shown on Netflix that MBC America CAN’T show it at the same time until Netflix finishes it’s showing. They have some sort of exclusive showing rights here. Bad for over-the-air viewers, good for Netflix subscribers. Expect to see these dramas OTA in the future, sometimes, maybe. Kinda sucks, but money talks……
September 11th, 2019 at 6:02 pm
@KDramaMama — thank you so much for the info on Netflix. This is the first time this has happened where I live, so could not figure out what happened.
But “One Spring Night” aired for eight (four) episodes on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 10:30 p.m., then out of the blue they changed it and started airing “Radiant Office.” Diane mentioned they did the same thing in CA. Is One Spring Night airing on Netflix also??? I don’t know why they stopped airing it in mid-stream.
Now that Radiant Office finished they are airing “Ruler: Master of the Mask.”
If they have to show re-runs I would rather see some older ones instead of dramas that have recently aired.
September 11th, 2019 at 10:47 pm
@DramaFan Yes Netflix also is showing One Spring Night. In CA it aired on MBC America for one week WITHOUT subtitles and then was pulled. BTW, you can see what KDramas Netflix is showing by browsing netflix.com.

@sirena
Thank you for the information.

this series is getting interesting, not just a humdrum romance between a prince and a historian, two people learning the fate of their fathers because of a life changing beginning those gentlemen were introducing to the country but hated by the king and his vassals who stuck that was old and familiar. this is the first historical drama i watched that featured about the catholics during the joseon era, those who feared for their lives because of their faith and equality and who no longer adhered to confucius doctrines, and thus were killed. today i learned that korea has the most christian catholic martyrs in asia (a catholic feast to honor them sept. 20) and the fourth in the world. isn’t that something?
September 25th, 2019 at 7:44 am
@tigerb, waw thanks for the info. This was on topic I really wanted to expand my knowledge about. I’m planing to read more about it. I also thought it was very interesting that the drama featured the Catholics in Korea.
I actually loved how this drama was able to be lighthearted and romantic while disgusting many important issues that is even applicable to our world today such as gender and class discrimination and other important issues regarding censorship. It’s an amazing drama and the writer really deserves an award for writing an amazing drama like this. Also, the actors are perfect choice for their role. Everyone of them compliments each other and had great chemistry with each other. It’s rare to find the whole team of actors as good as they r in this drama
September 27th, 2019 at 2:54 am
So will there be another Rookie historian? I really enjoyed this here in the USA. This was an unbelievable cast if actors and actress, they complimented each other so well. I really wanted the twist of yi rim and goo making a flower child. The only thing i wish was different was him becoming king and her majesty accepting goo as his queen. The girl was willing to have her throat slashed to protect him. Bit any way. .. Simply amazing. And i wish America had this type of history and cinematography.
September 28th, 2019 at 5:05 pm
@Sarasara #29: you enjoyed the series as much as i did. i like dramas in period settings because the stories are not as common as contemporary ones, also they give a bit of history, some factual. at first, i did not expect much except for the slight romance but the series ended up quite well. see you in other drama pages in this web site!
October 1st, 2019 at 1:36 pm
Not too bad for this Historical Drama. At least a Happy Ending kind instead of those old fashioned rules
October 14th, 2019 at 1:51 am
I am amazed I finished watching this drama…It was cute at times, but quite bland and it dragged on and on…It got more interesting towards the end, but even that felt like too little, too late…I’ve just started watching Seven Day Queen (which for some stupid reason I avoided until now) and got drawn in straight away! Now, that’s how you do a proper historical Kdrama!
