She majored in Broadcasting and Imaging at Ewha Womans University and graduated from the Korean Academy of Film Arts. She directed the short Pillow Talk (2006) and won the 10th Seoul International Women’s Film Festival Asian Short Competition Grand Prize with I’m a High School Girl (2008). The Day I Die won the Best Screenplay Award at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards.
