Kang Jin

Kang Ok Won, known professionally as Kang Jin, is a South Korean trot singer. He made his debut as a singer at an underground live club in 1975 but after years of not being successful he decided to switch to trot music. He made his official trot singer debut with the song "Traffic Light of Farewell" in 1986. As a trot singer he also spent 8 years in relative obscurity until he released "Man is a Hero" and "Love Triangle" in 1994 and became huge hits, raising his popularity. He has remained active ever since releasing his own songs as well as remakes. In 2007, he became the first ever trot singer to win in "Music Bank" with a remake of Na Hoon Ah’s "Bumble Bee". With the latest resurgence of trot music he has collaborated with younger trot singers such as Park Young Tak or Im Young Woong keeping himself active in the industry.
