Choi Baek Ho

Choi Baek Ho is a South Korean singer and songwriter. He was born as the youngest of two children to his father, Choi Won-bong, who was an independence activist and a member of the National Assembly, and his mother, who was an elementary school teacher. He was discharged from the military due to tuberculosis while serving in the Republic of Korea Army. After being discharged from the military, he made his debut as a singer by moving to Seoul and in 1978, he had a series of hits with his unique singing method, rising to the top singer ranks after about a year of his official debut. In 1979, when the music festival was in full swing, he became very popular in college towns by playing alongside popular folk rock groups like Sanulrim. In 1989, he emigrated to the United States and briefly worked on Korean Broadcasting Radio in Los Angeles as a DJ. He returned to South Korea in 1990 and resumed his performance-related activities.
