Abigail Alderete, born in Paraguay, is an MC, model, and actress in South Korea. She is best known for hosting the 2008 KBS’s program ‘Chitchat of Beautiful Ladies’ (a show that features foreign women, all of whom are living in Korea and fluent in Korean), appearing as a co-host on some episodes of Arirang’s ‘Traveler’s Korean’ and ‘All Together’ and for playing the role of "Chris" on the 2010 drama ‘Playful Kiss’.
Abigail is the first Hispanic actress to participate in a Korean drama. Because of being fluent in Korean and too much love for the Korean culture there had been an ongoing debate over the net, some blogs tell that she doesn’t have a drop of Korean blood in her while the rest say that her grandmother is a pure Korean, but one thing’s for sure; 3 of her aunts are all happily married to Koreans, and they now reside in Korea.
She is also fluent in speaking the Spanish, and English language and according to Arirang, she now studies at Hanseo University and has dancing as her hobby. She earned the nickname "Abi Gongju"(Princess Abi) due to her little princess like appearance and also for her bubbly and playful attitude that captures the hearts of young Korean men.
