Bum Soo is a traffic control officer who dreams of becoming a baseball umpire. By chance, he meets Hyun Ju, a theatre major who aspires to become an actress. When her car crashes into a tree, instead of fining her, he teaches her how to drive. Gradually the two fall in love with each other. Bum Soo proposes to Hyun Ju, only to be rejected as she is scheduled to leave Koreato study overseas. Several years later, the two are living out each of their dreams: Bum Soo as an umpire and Hyun Ju as Yoo Ha Rin, an up-and-coming starlet. One day, Bum Soo discovers Hyun Ju is too far out of reach from him but he takes a shot at a rendez-vous on the baseball field.
