  9. 9 : Chris Lim Says:

This storylines of this drama looks so convincing plus most of the actors are well-known and popular, definitely better than “Wang Family”. Both of the main leading actors, Lee Seo-jin and Kim Hee-seon are my favourite Korean actors, I can’t wait for them.

  15. 15 : kuxi Says:

@Chris Lim We can’t judge this drama is better than Wang Family since it hasn’t started. From the poster I feel like it’s different than another KBS’s weekend drama like Ojakgyo, Unexpected You, My daughter Seyoung, Leesoonshin is the best, Wang Family which story more centered family. I don’t know it’s better or not, maybe it’s more mello since it’s Lee kyunghe’s style

  16. 16 : Shinee Says:

I want to watch this drama so badly, why any download link to this drama already post? I have been browse everywhere but still can’t find it.
    Please help.

  17. 17 : Carmen Woon Says:

Viki website is not available in my country, Malaysia. Are there any website download it already? Very curious to watch the first episode of this drama.

  18. 18 : Monica Yee Says:

Try it on: hhtp://koreanontv.com/140222-wonderful-season-episode-1/ (still raw) no yet have Eng.sub.

  19. 19 : WSW Says:

I agree with you, this writer is the one who wrote Innocent Man and Sorry I Love you, A Love to Kill etc so this drama might be very mello. This drama might not be the usual happy ending weekend drama for KBS

  20. 20 : maknaee Says:

    I love your username kkk

  21. 21 : Monica Yee Says:

Did you see what I see? I know it, unexpected that this drama is the highest rating in 1st episode. Many more to come…..Fighting!

  22. 22 : Logan1707 Says:

Wow…only with 2 episodes they could reach over 30% rating for weekends drama….superb. I am liking this drama and this is the weekends drama that I ever watch it. I never liked any weekends drama from KBS until this now. Love to see couple Kim Hee Sun and Leo Seo Jin.

  23. 23 : okcat Says:

    Taecyeon fighting!!!

  24. 24 : tigerb Says:

sometime last year, i heard that this time slot has no competing drama that’s why at kbs their drama comes out first in ratings. i’m outside korea, so i don’t know if that is still true. i’d like to watch this, just waiting when kbs world will air it where i am.

  25. 25 : Jyenie Says:

After watching ep 1 & 2, it’s quite tiring to watch this drama.

  26. 26 : liona Says:

Wow, already 30 % in just two episodes !!!
Hopefully get more better result than before. Even mellow, I still expecting for more romance, comedy, and also happy ending. 48 episodes to go, fighting !!!

  27. 27 : djeter Says:

will somebody pls inform me where i could download the english subtitle for this series

  28. 28 : Bellatrix Says:

This is gonna be interesting drama even after watching 1st and 2nd episode without eng sub but I still could understand the story as I don’t know Korean language…. don’t usually like the very long drama like 50 eps like this but this one is awesome. Happy to watch the couple Lee seo Jin and Kim Hee Sun….can’t wait for Saturday and Sunday again.

  29. 29 : Ana Says:

djeter, you can download the subtitles from here http://www.darksmurfsub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/8188-wonderful-season-2014/
These subtitles are not the best, but they are better than nothing..

  30. 30 : Essah Says:

Thanks you so much, @Ana. Yes, better than nothing and I had been waiting for it since Sat.

  31. 31 : Jojo Says:

See what I said before, “Very Good Times” is better family drama than “Wang Family”.
The actors are famous, the screen writer is popular, the director is skilled and the plots is nice.
“Wang Family” is nothing different than any other Korean family dramas before.

  32. 32 : Rosemary Says:

I love this drama b’cos of Kim Hee-seon and I didn’t know that drama is so well received by Koreans? But how about “Faith”? I felt that drama is much better, from the starting until the end, it ‘s so exciting make me glued to it.

  33. 33 : juliaNE04 Says:

where can i watch this with eng sub?seems interesting to me bcoz of the highest rating

  34. 34 : juliaNE04 Says:

where can i watch this with eng sub?seems interesting

  35. 35 : MingKong Says:

I am looking forward to it too with eng sub.
    Wow! That’s rating!
    Wow! My idol!

  36. 36 : IBAyan Says:

Admired Korean family, had seen many Korean family dramas and realised that many family members are still stay together as a big family and close boundaries.
Look like Kang Dong Suk has a very big family members.
He had elder brother, elder sister and younger brother.
Now, let me analysis it : elder brother, Dong Tak had one son and younger brother, Dong Hee had one son and one daughter but his kids didn’t know Dong Hee is their father.
But…..where all their wife? Even their 2 old uncles also live in with them and no wife. Maybe bachelor or divorces?
Found out that they had 2 moms (mean their father had 2 wifes) No father.
So far that all I know about Kang’s family members, hope someone give the insights about this drama more details.

  37. 37 : Lady Says:

This drama has 50 episode, right? Dear admin, please correct it

  38. 38 : emerald Says:

Daebak!!!! KBS2 always on the lead in their Saturday & Sunday 19:55 time slot… ive been watching this time slot since Ojakgyo Brothers…

  39. 39 : Maddie Says:

I don’t know why they’d have comedy in the genre classification. The attempt at humour didn’t alter the overall sombre mood, not one bit.

  40. 40 : Maddie Says:

JoJo, I really like “The Wang Family” drama. It’s hilarious at times, and at times heart wrenching.

But this drama isn’t really in the same category I don’t think. Unless the writer changes direction later on, this one seems to be heading towards a melodrama than semi-light entertainment. I could be wrong.

  41. 41 : Maddie Says:

Judging from previous works by this writer, she tends to run out of steam on the last stretch leaving us wanting for a better ending.

One of my favourites is “Thank You” though there were scenes that were confusing as if the writer got foggy-brained. I dismissed the ending, pretended the story went elsewhere. To this day I can’t fully recall the ending.

Then came “Nice Guy”, a powerful, engaging melodrama I really loved except for the ending, which didn’t quite make it for me. Foggy-brained again?.

“Will It Snow at Christmas” was the same. Awesome mood, great characters, and wonderful performance by Jo Min Soo as Kang Jin’s (Go Soo) mother. But there was too much uncertainty with the direction of the story. The ending was pfft..just fizzed out. The ending was like one of those early 70’s finding oneself crappy TV movies. It might make sense if you’re one of those who’d smoke weed as you zone out in front of the box.

Which raises the question; Is our dear writer a hippie per chance? LoL!!

  42. 42 : aznative Says:

I read on Viki’s site today that they did not get the license.

  43. 43 : Kinki Says:

@aznative : What’s nonsense? You mean, they don’t want or can’t get the license? If there isn’t any eng.sub. how they want our international viewers rates and supports? I am barely understand their languages.

  44. 44 : Sofie TTM Says:

Want to know the secrets behind Kang Dong Hee, why he is very rude and likes to make troubles? Maybe next episode, disclose who is his wife and why she run away?

  45. 45 : Tina Says:

I don’t care whether it’s a melodrama or a family drama but the title is very convinces me to wa tch it because I want relaxing and happy drama to watch during weekend.

  46. 46 : Amber Chia Says:

Episode 3 started today with more exciting, I love all of them especially prosecutor Kang Dong Suk (Lee Seo-jin) he don’t talk much but once he talk, he looks damn cool.
He speak so fluent English, the way he looks at Cha Hae Won (Kim Hee Sun), Oooooo….I can’t wait for tomorrow.

  47. 47 : Rosemary Says:

Hate Dong-hee ‘s angers and rude characters but somehow it’s shows his opposite sides of him, caring and loving his sister and his kids, gives some warmth feeling about him.
I love Dong-suk ‘s characters carried so well by Lee Seo-jin. I want to see how he and Hae-won development?

  48. 48 : Wendy Says:

I thought the ep. 3 is better than the previous 2 ep. but why rates drops so much?

  49. 49 : Kinki Says:

Wendy, it’s still substance in the position as number 1 after all. But why no eng. sub until now?

  50. 50 : Reea Says:

Where I can see the drama with eng sub? help

  51. 51 : wonna Says:

Where I can watch this drama with eng sub??? I already check some of the websites, but they still raw, or even not in there. I Hope they put this drama in the websites. Thdy have same time slot as “Wang’s Family” and ” Unexpected You” , right? So, what’s the difference ? I just can’t think.
Hope this drama get above 50 or 60% ratings in korea. Long way togo, fighting !!

  52. 52 : Yeni Says:

@ wonna : I also try to find this drama with eng sub, but it’s hard…
Dramafever doesn’t have it. Just can wait only. I love the casts of this drama.

  79. 79 : E. Hern Says:

I started to like to watch this drama now, seem like a very nice drama.

  80. 80 : Yuk-wei Says:

Mmmph….. seem the viewers rating has not rise so much as before. I know why because they haven’t touch the family values yet and keep flash back the memories and so many actors at once showing their sides of stories make me confused. Koreandrama.com, can you quick upload the Eng.subtitles for us, int’l viewers?
    Thanks in advance.

  81. 81 : Jessy Ng Says:

I had watch some family dramas but this one is a bit special. It is not straight-forward family drama that you can guess the ending, so be patient, sure it will be hit drama once it get along.

  82. 82 : Ellen Says:

Well, when I watch preview ep.8, just a little bit confused how the continue of
KDS and CHW’s relationship. I hope this drama will make some “bang” for the
story. I know the story is all about family and love, but I hope for the love between
The main coupl3. Why the ratings drop? I hope this drama’s rating rise up more and more, maybe above 55%? Hope so….fighting !!!

  83. 83 : meiji_era Says:

@phenix, It’s called Good Times sung by Seo Young Eun.

    Have mercy on me !

I’ve barely just recovered from Wang Family’s chaos, stumbled onto this drama hoping to settle my nerves. and what do you know?

I’m as dumbfounded as ever. What’s with the characters here? Who’s who? What, who, where, why, etc etc etc ugh?

Must definitely be me. Looks like I haven’t recovered from Wang Familysitis yet.

Gotta get out of here fast.

Will visit this drama again when I’m out of the woods.

    Bye !

  89. 89 : mml Says:

Don’t like this drama and as i haven’t recovered from the hurt from the silly stupid drama from the wang’s family.

I will not even want to try watching this drama.

  90. 90 : Monica Yee Says:

@mml, if you don’t even want to try watching this drama, how come you drop by here and give nonsense comments. I don’t know what silly drama that you have watched, there are so many good k-dramas available. You just unlucky picked up one rotten apple and expect the whole box of apples is rotten.
“Wonderful Day” is aired on weekend is not a kind of family drama only, it’s filled with suspects and revenge plus family values. I like this drama, it not about love story between OTP only.

  91. 91 : reindeer song Says:

Korean family such as this one put a strain on the one that is successful. They contribute nothing but the expect a “mother load” they look for hand outs and never trying to better themselves just hanging on ones coattail. In episode one you can see he wanted better, but his background prevented him, so he left, his mum cannot forgve him , but had he stayed and become like all the others, marry with children and no future or prospect.
Seriously, I would not of returned. Live my life my way without any choke hold, and that’s korean family the strangle you they want, want, want,.. and call it family love.
This drama for me will be confirmation, understanding, and yes I know what I’m talking about. My perspective!!!

  92. 92 : Joobjoo Says:

Ok Taecyon, Why are you always mad? Your face gonna get stuck like that. This drama is addicting. Will both brothers go after the same girl? Will the 2 kids find out who their real father is? Will the sister die in the middle of the drama? Just speculating dont know the answers to any of my questions. =)

  93. 93 : Kim-joo Says:

I get into this drama after watched “Happy Together”. They introduced this drama should be the good one since I quite like Kim Hee Sun’s dramas because she is always co-star with all those famous and handsome actors. And this one is also not bad too, Lee Seo-jin is a moderate famous Korean actor.
Great to know that TeaCyeon is acting good among veteran actors and actresses. Hope this story getting better and better understandings among all the casts because at the beginning episode, too many casts show up their roles, that’s a bit of confusing.

  94. 94 : JJYOO Says:

Can’t wait for 1 more day to pass and I can watch this wonderful drama. Kissing scene. (0=0) + (*@*)

  95. 95 : Silv Says:

I love Lee Seojin. He (and of course Taec Yeon) is the reason I watch this series. However his character is annoying that I nearly lose interest to watch this drama. I’ll definitely will stop watching once it’s obvious that he’s going to be back with Haewon. Hope not though, otherwise the story will be so lame…

  96. 96 : reindeer song Says:

People let talk about the drama not the actors. OH! OH! This drama is bloody annoying me, a bunch of loser dysfunctional family who is dragging the one good thing down the cess pool of their quagmire. The grampa let his ass die, he is a neck choke, the mother the old fart is old why give a rat ass, her husband a useless BUM why bother with his family? Throw them out on there derelect ass. Why is Mr. Prosecutor entering back into that cesspool of a family? I know there is some family value crap I should he looking at, but when you build your life a certain way, why should you be dragged down by useless and mindless bunch of dead weights? Seriously, I have no love for people like that.Drama, I know in the end everyone willbe happy as PIGS!

  97. 97 : Maddie Says:

It’s as if the writer wrapped the story and the characters in plastic-wrap. We see them but we never quite get immersed in their lives — not quite. It is the writer’s style.

We have one pooping gramps in diapers who’d let only male members of the family change his poopie diaper. Though his strong voice suggest he should be strong enough to roll off the bed onto a pottie.

Some strange sibling bonds, without the duelling banjo moment. Tacyeon’s character is a human explosive device with a hair trigger that goes off whenever the slightest injustice is directed at his family.

And our classic star-crossed lovers, don’t seem to get a break, yet we pray and hope they do.

    Very enjoyable drama.

  98. 98 : LPO Says:

This drama is just simply a copycat of the Wang family.

Viewers who have watched Wang family will know what I mean.

  99. 99 : Gumpyasu Says:

No way as Wang family, a bunch of useless daughters, after married off still comeback to parent begging for foods. Actually, Korean family drama is dull as shit

  100. 100 : Gillian Huang Says:

If you don’t like to watch family dramas on the weekend, you can always watch weekday dramas where the all the stories are more or less the same minus the family values.

Seem reindeer song is so stresses out about this drama, I advise you better stop watching it, get you value watch other dramas that make you happy like pig than seeing them happy like pig.

Come on, people want to give good comments about this drama and yet, you bull-shit here for what?

  101. 101 : Viva 1212 Says:

I love this drama, “Wonderful Day” very much, can’t wait to see how it’s ending? Long times, haven’t watch any family drama because I don’t like long episodes and family members personal problems arise among them.
But this drama has different story and it make me move on after knowing both main-leading actors, Lee Seo-jin and Kim Hee-sun are my favourite stars. Both of them are great dramas stars.

  102. 102 : Dede N88g Says:

Nice drama to watch, I am waiting for another one more day to air. This drama make me addicted to all the roles of the casts. I love how they blended together and oh, boy! so many males without partner living together in the same root. See how they manage their family life?

  103. 103 : Jumpstreet Says:

    100 Gillian Huang

Never realised that pigs are happy. How can pigs be happy when the next day they would only end up on somebody’s table as pork chops?

Are you calling those viewers who enjoy a laugh or two when watching a kdrama, pigs? How did you end up having this pig idea? Be careful what you post. Only a pig will say such thing. It would not be tasteful if you should end up pork chop on somebody’s plate.

And, who is bullshitting about this drama? Those viewers who expressed that this drama is not for them were just expressing how they feel about this drama. How did your bird brain conclude that they are bullshitting? Not everyone has the same taste even in the type of kdramas.

The next time you’re hoping for a winner, study the script first before taking up the drama. The script makes the drama.

Do you like pork chops? Oink, oink!

  104. 104 : Jumpstreet Says:

    99 Gumpyasu

Don’t agree with you that Korean family drama is as dull as shit. You are generalising, though I do agree that there are some that are dull as shit but there are also some that are good ones, where the story telling is good.

Example of the good ones I recently know of are Soyoung My Daughter, the Wang Family,

Example of the recent bad ones are Sincerity Moves Heaven, Love My Love.

  105. 105 : KChinYuan Says:

Episode 11 in “Wonderful Day” is going to air today and there will be a kissing scene. Yaa-hooo!

I just like seeing lee seojin. His acting is so unique and make him be in charge. Great job so far. But he should not walk like a robot,be more natural and relaxe.

  107. 107 : reindeer song Says:

Response to Gillian Huang: “Happy as pigs” is a colloquial expression, please do not get your nickers in a twist, it a drama. I stated one leave to educate and better themselves to come back to the same old crap, no one has moved on to better their environment. Why should you be a part of the quagmire. The old fart grandpop threatening he will starve himself let him, he perpetuated his son with his debauchery, he was not a good parent. Now the burden of taking care of him has fallen on that poor tired mother and his stupid antics. Not eating for a day won’t kill him.Yes, in Kdrama term its all about family and its nuicance and frailty , we get it but we do not have to like the process.

This is an international forum for international viewers. Many of us do not under your colloquail expression. We happen to understand only plain simple English.

And by the way, it’s great to know that it must be common for knickers to get twisted or in a bind from where you are. From where I am, our knickers are always well in place.

Since pigs seem to mean a lot to you, here’s one for your collection :
    “If only pigs could fly”.

Great cultural exchange we have here!

  113. 113 : Ans66yer Says:

Am I come into a right forum, I just want to comment this drama but not into the fighting zone. Some netrizens ‘s comment are out of sense. I love to eat pork, I don’t eat steak because I am Buddhism, all right.
This drama is quite a good story drama but why the ratings is going down? Hope they get to the main point and don’t keep bringing the past scenes and inserted unnecessary members affairs. Too many affairs can’t take it.

  114. 114 : reindeer song Says:

Are we all happy now, then lets enjoy this drama. Discussion ends! Jumpstreet and others have fun enjoy. Cheers!!!!

  115. 115 : gomawoyo Says:

#107 _”“Happy as pigs” is a colloquial expression”

    Want it universal?

It is: “As happy as a pig in mud”, which owes its etymology to an ancient story of a King from heaven visits Earth, and begged his dear friend who had incarnated as a pig to return with him to his former opulent life. To which the pig replied: “What? And leave my wife and children and all this glorious mud?”

It’s often used to underline the condition we’re all engrossed in.

  116. 116 : gomawoyo Says:

    This drama is great!!

  117. 117 : reindeer song Says:

Oye!Oye! I thought this was over and done with GOMAWOYA are you from Western Australia that’s a favorite saying “Happy as a pig in mud”. UK says “Happy as a pig in Sh*t”, people in the South US says “She is as happy as a dead pig in sunshine” so why not let our colloquial education rest now. I do not eat port so have fun and enjoy.

Are you having fun watching this drama? GREAT!!! LETS!!!!

  118. 118 : gomawoyo Says:

Ewwww… pfft! I’m not a child @reindeer. Didn’t like my post? Another reader might benefit from the additional info.

Are we having fun watching this drama? OH GOODIE!!!

  119. 119 : reindeer song Says:

Come on GOMAWOYO! I love the post, just trying to educate, I am not a child either. Certainly our readers will benefit greatly. Travelling is such fun, you learn how to relate and tolerate others of different culture.

Yes, having lots and lot of fun watching. Are you? CHARMING!!!!!!

    ENJOY!!! Cheers,

  120. 120 : Jumpstreet Says:

    @reindeer song

You do not educate by address such uncouth terms as “getting the knickers in a bind” to another person. This is gutter talk. Your purpose was to insult.

A self respecting person would not accept or tolerate such an insult, much less engage in gutter talk. This applies too to any self respecting experienced traveler, no matter how much he’s traveled.

As for this drama, I can’t say it is a good one. In my personal opinion, it is trying too hard to grab viewers attention by being too extreme in dramatics and script.

Take for example, Taecyeon’s character. The character, storyline and acting are too far fetched and over the top. Just too artificial.

  121. 121 : reindeer song Says:

JUMPSTREET! Now you are calling me uneducated and uncouth, seriously who give you the right to insult me. Gomawoyo started this useless bantering in which I conceeded but she persisted, check the trails. “Chicka! “Gutter Talk” when is getting your knickers in a twist gutter talk? It’s an Idiom which means getting upset over something that’s not important. Is that gutter talk? In future please check your verbage.

I would agree with you regarding this drama, everything seems so far fetched. I cannot feel sympathy for any of the characters, oh, except DS, he walked into a quagmire.Seeing this drama is in it early stages, lets give a hoot/cheer for better script writing. Regards!

  122. 122 : gomawoyo Says:

Hey, hey, watch it. My single post on the topic of pigs a useless banter? 🙂

In all seriousness though @reindeer you’re choice of words might be okay with friends, but it can be inappropriate with strangers as they don’t know you well enough to decide if you’re being nice to them or facetious.

If I may suggest; if you mean to attack someone, make your intent clear and provide your reason/argument. I think that is better than closing with “Are we happy now? or “Cheers”, just after you chided the person. They are likely to interpret your “cheer” the wrong way.

  123. 123 : Nudge Says:

106 Lalo — “But he should not walk like a robot..”

You noticed that too? Actually I thought he walked like a gay male prostitute on Mondays.
He’s putting it on for the character… surely (???).

  124. 124 : reindeer song Says:

If I wanted to attack someone I will address my response as such. I made a comment and everyone jumped on the band wagon. Please check the trails. Example: #100 #103 #112 continuing on #115 #118 #120. You all inflamed the situation. Cheers,

  125. 125 : Nudge Says:

What a mood this drama generates. So moving.

  126. 126 : Nudge Says:

I just love the stills they present of rural life with each episode. It provides an unsophisticated setting for the story. Tastily chosen visuals are in themselves woven intricately into the story.

Some talent these guys have. And the script make the actors really shine.

  127. 127 : Maddie Woo Says:

This from KBS World sums it up well Nudge.

Dong Suk is on his way home.

A poor 18-year-old boy who left his home, becomes a prosecutor, a fairly successful job and returns to his old home after 14 years. It was not that easy to be back home. When he thought of his family, he was embarrassed, ashamed, angry and he wanted to get away from them.

However, for the first time in his life, he would say “Thank you.”, “Sorry.”, “You made me heart-broken.”, “I love you.” and he would hold his mother’s rough hands, have soju with his siblings, take a walk with his sister, and buy presents for his nephews. Finally, he would realize the days that he spent with them was of the most beautiful and memorable days in his life.

Let’s meet the value of your family, love, neighbours, warmth, the things that you have forgotten for a moment because of your busy daily life.

I just saw episode 1 and stop there, I will try

  132. 132 : Jyenie Says:

No wonder you like this drama, it’s getting interesting from ep 9 onward, the love line between DS and HW has developed especially in ep 11. The twin sister’s love encounter with the new guy is very cute :). However, I am yet to warm up with Taecyeon, he looks pissed off all the time and not likeable, he was one of the reasons why I dropped the drama before.

  133. 133 : Nudge Says:

Background info: Actor Ryu Seung Soo who plays Dong Suk’s thespian older brother is in real life an acting coach. Among some of his students are Jo In Sung and Song Ji Hyo.

  134. 134 : SooLin P00H Says:

At the beginning episode, I thought it is just another boring family affairs drama but now the story started to picking up, I so hooked into this drama and the whole story of Kang’s family and cool man prosecutor to get back his first lover, Chae-won.

    I have watched ep1-3(dropped this drama after ep3 not ep 1)and ep9-ep14.

  139. 139 : fan Says:

Usually, I’m not keen to watch family drama, but this one is really good. I like each character and I find each one well elaborated, they’re not just some decor to the main characters. The dialogue is well written and I enjoy every moment of it, the uncles, the kids, the granpa and the 2 moms, it’s just refreshing and add to that it’s not about some chaebol falling for poor girl or the opposite.

Honestly I wasn’t interested in it but I gave it a try because of Lee Seo Jin after finishing Freeze, and I don’t regret it. I’m starting ep. 4 now 🙂

  140. 140 : Faith Says:

I restarted watching Korean drama since Faith after long break. Actually I do not prefer family dramas which are so long and slow, but I felt in love in this show, especially love line of OTP. Really love dimples of LSJ, beautiful smile of KHS. Look forward to seeing the development of loveliness of the couple.

  141. 141 : Sharon Says:

    @fan & Jyenie
I am on ep 5, love how they highlight the town in the beginning of the drama.
Like the characters the flashbacks, so far. My favorite character is the brother who want to become an actor, Dong Tak. I think he will end up with HW’s sister Hae Joo.

  142. 142 : J. Kirk Says:

This is not a drama. I call this a poetic experience.

Kim Hee Sun is adorable. There’s real depth in her Cha Hae Won that’s got me glued to the screen. And Seo Jin has always been an engaging actor.

As cynical as I am, I found myself wondering, in this age of the so-called liberated woman, how much of Hae Won’s responses to Dong Suk are from her heart and how much, if any, were rehearsed.

Hae Won seemed unreserved, honest in her submissions to Dong Suk, feeling herself undeserving of reciprocal romantic relations with him. And seemingly devoid of any other judgements towards him save that she was once deeply hurt when he abandoned her.

I suspect, Hae Won never had any other man in her life. Her heart was always with Dong Suk and somehow its in her genetic makeup she can’t be with just any man, much as she would try. Ah there its is.

Her’s is a love that is rare. Her existence so tightly connected to her environment they are inseparable. With every breath she feels, she remembers and she hopes.

  143. 143 : fan Says:

Yes, their mother will die ! hahaha !

And the kids, what will Mul do when he discover that his uncle and aunt are actually his cousins 😀

  144. 144 : Sharon Says:

    Thank for the spoiler!!🙊

  145. 145 : fan Says:

hahahaha ! But if you’re watching ep. 5, it means that you already know that they’re Donghui children.

    I’m at ep. 7, halfway 🙂

  146. 146 : Sharon Says:

Yeah I know about the kids been DH’s , but the mother will die part did not know!
HW sister is dumber than DK. HW mother is a trip, still keeping up appearances know she is broker than a church mouse.
Love the family!! I think DH and the teacher will be an item. SH is such a punk! HW you are better off without him, he can’t even stand up to his father like a man. SH is a little slow too; I guess there is one in every family. Now at ep 7.

  147. 147 : Lady Says:

I love this drama and episode 15 is daebaakk! The storyline get more better…WD team fighting!

  148. 148 : Anastasia Says:

Just watched ep 16 with Eng subs and it’s so great. I like this family drama and this could be one of my favourite weekends drama beside Hotel King. This family drama is good and there are good lessons learned to watch this. The story is good and so with the actors and actresses who acted in ths drama so alive and real. And next episodes are getting very exciting. Can’t wait for that.

  149. 149 : LKJO66 Says:

I almost miss this drama and now, I never regret to watch such a long episode drama. It’s so good drama. Love it.

  150. 150 : Ivy Icey Says:

Now until episode 16, and the story is getting interesting and addicted. I love the chemistry between DS and HW, they are longing for their long and true love for each other is so real. Keep it up! Hi, what wrong with stupid ratings given Korean viewers?

  151. 151 : Isabellla Says:

It is always funny, when we love this plot of the drama, the Korean standard is not. There many factors in it.
The best, they shouldn’t give this type of rating to judge on the dramas, this is kinda insulting the talents of the people involved.

It is always sad to see so many cases, Korean entertainment industry crews commit suicide by this type of unfair ratings.

  152. 152 : Mabel88Honey1 Says:

I agreed with you. Now, Korean dramas are not make to show to Korean viewers only but also international viewers. Without international viewers, they won’t be that great as now. So be fair, or abolish it for the good of everyone.

  153. 153 : Sharon Says:

That would be nice, but they don’t give a hoot about how the international audience feels. They will continue with the ratings, I guess it a way to get good script and excellent actors.

  154. 154 : tigerb Says:

i don’t think the ratings are intended for international viewers, but for the korean viewers, after all, these dramas are primarily made for them. the ratings mean much to the production and the advertisers, and to the cast in their future projects. as an international viewer, the ratings don’t mean anything to me, although sometimes i express my opinions on it.

  155. 155 : Vanilla White Says:

Wooo….the English sub. is already up-to-date. I love this story of this drama so much.
Sometimes, I wonder is this drama is a family drama or a melo-drama? Their confession is so damn sweet, hope my boyfriend say it to me like this.

Nothing like FAMILY!! Love the kids scene. HW need makeup, Why she dresses like a construction worker? Will DO find love?

  158. 158 : Mandy Says:

DH keen to marry SH??? Who’s SH? Seung Hoon who is DH’s boss??

  159. 159 : Sharon Says:

I think she means HW keen to marry SH.

  160. 160 : Lady Says:

I’ll say I want to hold your hands when I want to. I’ll say I want to hug you when I can. I don’t care if you took revenge on me or played me and I don’t care if you’ve changed and now you have feelings for Seung Hoon. If you turn away from me, I’ll go on, looking at your back. And that’s how I’ll continue to date you. I’ll continue to see u. I could feel lonely and sad as you did before because of me but this is what I’ve decided.”

I made a mistake I meant HW like Sharon said.

  164. 164 : Hoo-jin Says:

I am waiting for today to come and hope episode 17 will air today despite effect by the ship sank ill-tragedy. Please, please answer my pray!

  165. 165 : Vanilla White Says:

Episode 17 tonite seems like disclosures : DH tell the truth who is their twins ‘s father is? DT finally shows to HJ that he cares for her and gives her a hug, DS shows that he knows what is HW’s intensions and brought HW home to his family to shows them, she is a woman he cares, uncle’s girlfriend found out by DT and OCS been informed by DS that he is going to investigate OCS. Hope more excitements to come.

  166. 166 : Curious Says:

Episode 17 is awesome, lot of happiness to see many pairing couples in this episode but confusing about HW and DS relationship? Wish some explains for that. Hope faster subbed with English.

  167. 167 : jewles Says:

In high school, HW followed DS around to go steady. He finally agreed to go steady with her but then asked her to run away with him when he was so fed up with his life. At the train station, however, DS told HW that he was only playing with her because of her family and his family’s dynamic. (his mother worked as HW’s housekeeper for many years and HW’s mother treats DS’s mother like a slave) The truth was her mother found out and came to plead with him to not take her away. So he left alone leaving her behind for her sake.

When he came back to his home town some 15 years later, the encounter brought up the old feelings in each other. He really did like her back then and wants her back. HW is too caught up on revenging her father’s death, she is willing to marry the son of her father’s murderer. Now HW is finding out how DS really feels about her and drawn toward him also. She is contemplating between revenge and love……

  168. 168 : reindeer song Says:

Mabel88Honey1, per your comment I agree and they are not doing a good job. I’ve been a fan of Korean Drama for about 11 years, and the same old tired plots keep reinventing themselves, amny of my friends just totally gave up because all the scenarios are the same just the characters names are different.
Very few dramas attracts my attention now, first episode of a drama and you can tell which way the wind blows. When the plotlines look promising, you are left hanging, the writers does the same old same old, no punishment for ones crime, the evil chacter takes over the drama and the other character has a few seconds of face time, no punishment for any crimes.

As a international viewer, we are becoming bored of Kdramas.

  169. 169 : Lady Says:

I’m impatient of waiting teacher Ma Ri n Dong He meet properly 🙁 Hope it can be happen on next episode
Ah, DS your dimples is really cute, i like the way you proposed HW in the end of ep.18
I love the scene lunch dating between DO n the cute doc 🙂

  170. 170 : gomawoyo Says:

Ep.18, Dong Hee’s belated beating from the mother who raised him, halts and chides her for the way she was doing it. Then hands her a roller pin to continue with the beating.

  171. 171 : kichee Says:

50 episodes won’t be enough to quench me for this k-drama so please confirm more eps, LKH the screenwriter makes me more greedy every latest episode for doing such a good job, tears and laughs take turns in me- making me crazy addict always. episode19 now!!! chaebaleo,,,,

  172. 172 : gomawoyo Says:

In the middle of his investigation, Dong Suk says to Hae Won; “Will you marry me?”
This writer’s got the spontaneous thing working here. I love it. Those moments are refreshing and the drama keeps getting better.

  173. 173 : S biscoglia Says:

Have I got the ages wrong. Is Don Suk 35 and his uncles (twins) 40? If that is right then how old was the father who left and the mother when they got married?

  174. 174 : Curious Says:

Thanks you for your explanations. This OTP in this drama is awesome, I love their background stories.

  175. 175 : Yennis Says:

    @S biscoglia,

Did they mentioned DS ages is 35? Talking about their ages is mess, the kids had mentioned that DS mom is over menopause ages. In 1 episode, female twins said DS mom is 56 yrs old, how come can gives birth to them? Now, the twin kids are already 8 yrs old, that means DS mom is 64’s, then twins uncles are over 50’s, DS’s elder brother, DT is 40’s plus. Hahaha! that’s my guessing.

  176. 176 : Carmen Says:

I am just in episode 10 and live this drama song….and by the way can you tell me why they talk like in questionmark? The one that play the figter brother Dong Hui, he is doing a great job in his role.

  177. 177 : luhan Says:

    omo!!!!taecyeon oppo is so handsome

  178. 178 : reindeer song Says:

Yennis! DS 35 Korean age, ha!ha!

The twins is DH mum grandchildren DH is their father with that orphan girl who ran away and left the kids on his doorstep. For DH to marry a good girl mum claim the children as hers. We all know she is past menopause, she look like a grandmother.

No wonder Koreans with last name the same cannot marry, they may be marrying their relative. Tooo many secrets in a family about birth of families, their children should at least pretend to be virginal when considering marriage. FRAUD comes to mind.

Now husbands are suing wives for giving them UGLY babies. OFF TOPIC!!!

  179. 179 : Kongyu Says:

I love this drama. It is such a wonderful story drama. Hope the ratings get higher in each episode from now onward.

  180. 180 : Wonder girl Says:

Sorry fans, I love to watch this drama so much because of DS’s characters only, no one else.

  181. 181 : Yennis Says:

    @reindeer song,

35’s for guy or ladies are not young anymore. They shld. know how to be independent and DS had rights to choose his own partner without parents interfere.

  182. 182 : reindeer song Says:

Yennis, not in Korea, male children are emasculated by their parents, they are raised to feel guilty, they were brought into the world no choice of theirs but have to pay back to there parents for raising them. The ladies are pimped out to richer and successful families.
For example the ekder speak they listen. Please forgive me for making this analogy, look at the Sewol tradegy, who in their right mind will tell children to go below when a boat is capsizing? The elders told them to, so they walked themselves to their own death on an DUMB ASS elder request. In Maritime Law you never go below, you go topside with all the necessary equipment and wait for rescue.

They cannot make decisions on their own, or the are not allowed. The younger generation are trying to change this willy nilly advice. This is the 21 century, these elders are not out into the world what the heck do the know.?ANCIENT!!!

So, to your question they are not allowed!!!

  183. 183 : Jewles Says:

You have been watching too many of these K-melo dramas. 80% of baby boomers, X, Y gens do not behave this way in Korea. Reminder: These are DRAMAS!!

They sleep with each other while they are dating, they kiss in public places, they talk back to their parents, they drink and smoke in high school, they marry because they want to marry whether they are rich or not, arranged or otherwise.

In any society, the elders will try to dictate their children’s lives, and control their destiny especially if they are well off – trying to safe keep their wealth, I guess. People who want to marry usually do go to each other’s parents and ask their hand in marriage. If they say no, then they usually ignore what the parents say and get married anyway. This is a universal behavior. Koreans are taught to respect elders, not to be castrated by the elders.

For the disaster mentioned, whoever you are, you will probably listen to the “captain” of the boat instructing you what to do during a trouble time. If you remember, not just kids went below, but also the teachers and other adults did, too.

Contrary to what you see in the K-drama land, the Koreans are not all morons, you know.

  184. 184 : Anastasia Says:

Have watched ep 19 with Eng subs and ep 20 Raw (waiting for the Eng subs). I absolutely loved in the last episodes. At ep 19 some secret are revealing and also ep 20. Relationship between DS and HW is now getting more serious and I love to see them hugging each other at ep 20. I hope both famiy will give them approval to let them getting married. Can’t wait for Saturday and Sunday for next episodes.

  185. 185 : reindeer song Says:

Thanks Jewles, I’m only 27, yes I know thing has changed drasticallly, I lived in Korea in 2005 and has visted Korea each time I go to Japan my gfriend and I, so I’m aware. But, it still exist.
Common sense, I have sailed and have been on travelling vessels. Travelling on any vessel, these are the instructions, they give you before leaving any port, you are directed to where all emergency exist are and life vest and all aide helping you to escape disaster. Never once have I been told when a vessel is capsizing to go below, it is encouraged to go topside and wait next to the lowering dingys for a professional rescue. Did you not see the captain fleeing down the ladder while CHILDREN are left behind to die? Did you not listen to the student who said he wanted to live that was why he left below to escape?
Never once thought of them as morons. just have different perspectives.

  186. 186 : Melody Says:

I love you, agreed 100% with Jewles’s perspectives.

Every drama has to make good examples to teach the new generations about the cultures and family values.

  187. 187 : Jewles Says:

Sorry for harping on you, so to speak.

I’ve been watching k-dramas and they portrait the lives of Koreans as so archaic it is so frustrating. I guess that’s what sells the drama – the old inscrutable Asians.

I just watched Can we Love in dramafire.com and it’s more to true lives of 30 somethings.

  188. 188 : reindeer song Says:

Jewless, thanks for understanding from my point of view. These dramas are protraying an ideal of what they want the international views as realistic. In respect to their archaic or draconian ways. Korea is a very, very beautiful country. Jeju devinely beautiful, but sadly most of the people do not go along with the beauty.

Some of the modern drama depict a flicker of how things are now. I will continue to vist because my family likes going there, that it.

  189. 189 : wong Says:

  202. 202 : Nicole Says:

I started to watch it and now, I can’t stop my desire to watch it until finish.
I love the romance between Dong Suk and Hae Won. Their stories are so beautiful.

  203. 203 : Li Dan Says:

I couldn’t understand why Hae Won rejected Dong Suk’s proposal just because of her father guilty. Hey, this long-times ago happened. Doesn’t her father pays back his debts by supporting the Kang’s children educations and medical treatments?
Who know? Maybe Chi Soo puts the blames on Hae Won’s father.

I like this drama too, this drama n big man is the one i really love eventhough i watch Hotel king n You’re surrounded too
    I like KHS n LSJ

  210. 210 : molly Says:

I Love this drama since from the first episode. LSJ and KHS , also the writer are the
reason why I watch this drama. Even unfortunately, this drama is still around 20-27 % ratings since ep.2 , even place in first. I hope this drama ratings goes up more and more.

  211. 211 : Lady Says:

@Shie #204, @Rhoda #205 and @Philly #208 : word of warning, after ep 20, there will be a two week delay with eng subs. we’ll have to wait for subs from kbs world on youtube. so for eps 21 until 24 i relied on Soompi forum there’s someone have a great recap 🙂

  212. 212 : Saniah Y. Says:

Talking about how K-dramas rate their viewer ratings? I don’t reliance on it to watch my favourite dramas.

  213. 213 : Mirei Says:

    @Saniah Y,
Problems nowadays is people like to judge the ratings to watch the dramas. Always good ratings, the drama will become hit and a lot of people talking about it.
This drama is good among the past family-dramas, “My daughter Seo Young” and “Wang family”. But from Korean viewers, weekend dramas is about family values and cultures and mostly elderly viewers watching, so “Wonderful Days” is touched on romantic and suspense only, lacks of family value as it’s stated, that why the rates halts to half? Only some liked it but majority don’t liked it.

  214. 214 : eny Says:

I think this drama also touch about family value, DS will feel the warmth in his family, it still in the process, i think that is the main story of this drama not only romance n suspense

  215. 215 : Muri Says:

I really, really like the natural look of the women in this drama. Both Ji Ho and Hee Sun are awesome beauties. Kim Ji Ho I have not seen before is radiant.

The effort the actors are putting into their characters; that alone is moving. What to speak of these wonderful characters in a rural backdrop meticulously painted by this writer.

  216. 216 : reindeer song Says:

Muri, you can purchase the makeup, but it will be too heavy for a day to day wear.Though they look natual they are still made up.

  217. 217 : reindeer song Says:

So the vagabond father showed up eh! I would just show him the door , but that’s me they will welcome the skank with open arms. But, who will he be sleeping with? His wife or his mistress, or maybe both.
I have friends who have fathers’ who abandoned them, but their Mum gave them such good lves, good education tho smart, world travel, they have no desire to be reunited with their father. Men like them should not be parent, they are just sperm donars, then on top of it all sends home another bastard to his wife eey! Not good. In all the dramas I’ve watch, why do the writers attached so much importance to having both parents? Some of them deserved to be drowned or hung by thier scrotum. (Sorry, I digressed!)
I can see why DS is sooo cold to his family, they had nothing to teach him, they hid their children’s wrongdoings, never making them take responsibilities, look what happen to DS, the Mother stole his money for his tuition,to pay for troublemaker fire starter, then proceeded to tell him he is mean and should not go to University because he will put all bad people in jail. What parent says those thing? They just had nothing to teach him as a young man, no one Grampa and his Mr. Peanut, he should of been put out to pasture, wasted space

  218. 218 : Muri Says:

LoL! You are so mean reindeer but your facts are undeniable.

  219. 219 : reindeer song Says:

FYI! Oh Muri the makeup all those actors use is call “high definition makeup” for television, what you are seeing is a natural look as possible creating the perfect skin. No long piling on the heavy makeup to hide flaws which was quite noticable. Estee lauder make HD make up.

  220. 220 : reindeer song Says:

  221. 221 : Baby Bean Says:

I am getting exciting for episode 27, tonite. What is the role of papa Kang suddenly appears?

  222. 222 : Crystal YY Says:

Are you sure that Estee Lauder HD make-up is so effectives. I try it on. It makes me look like a porcelain doll instead natural look, so what is that means? Hahaha!

DS is cool, I want him to be that cool. No hope to be kind to his one-sided mom, only reason now to win back his girl-friend heart. His family just give him shit and mess and no supports of anything for him. Angst to his damn uneducated family.

  223. 223 : reindeer song Says:

Crystal, okay I did say for television. But if you like looking like a porcelain doll that is sooo cute! My girlfriend who is biracial wers it only when she is taking photos. You can use it very sparingly, that is why its called/says “HD” High Definition Makeup. Hers says Estee lauder or try MAC.

  224. 224 : icegirl Says:

my limit has always been 20 eps per drama(preferably 16)…anything more is too long for me…when i first saw the no. of episodes in the synopsis…i passed…no thank you, not interested…but when i saw the rating! wow! that blew me away… i just had to see for myself why this drama is consistently no. 1…and i wasn’t disappointed! at first i felt there were too many characters, too many sub-plots and too much going on…but when you get to watch it week after week…you’ll be hooked…and you cant wait to watch the next episode! simple heartwarming story about family (however dysfunctional)about love, about people/characters that are part of your life…and an awesome soundtrack makes up this great drama!

  225. 225 : say Says:

at the beginning this drama was slow, but since the prosecutor appear things start heating up,I can say my interest in this drama has grown more than i even thought,no too much exaggeration , simple day to day of ordinal people life, nice work.
the drama between the twins and their father is very funny and entertaining,i love the twins especially the little girl, she doesn’t give in at all,the boy talks very good.
the doctor too i love the romance between him and Dong Suk sister is great,i am just hoping the writer speed things up with their wedding and how her is going to handle it since she has no experience of any relationship,i hope her mother talk to her before wedding so that she will not be shock and run away but take good care of her husband very well.

Dong Suk father i don’t know what to say about him,the children seem to prefer if he was to remain dead, instead of coming back, but his coming back spake things up and also their neighbor who want to write all Dong Suk family life history by intruding in everybody business even when they didn’t call her in,she is so funny i love her acting too.
about Dong Suk and his girl friend i am tired of promising and failing begging and apologizing enough already, thing have start getting boring between them, let them start their relationship and see were it lead them to,and stop demanding family prover
over all this drama is cool, interesting, entertaining, good work.

  226. 226 : Waving not Drowning Says:

Simply brilliant. The music is so very appropriate. Nice to hear old style ballads. All unplugged acoustic instrumentation like the rest of this drama — earthy.

Kim Young Chul plays the estranged father who’s been away so long he doesn’t recognise his own children, isn’t credited in the cast list above. I expect he’ll be gone soon.

  227. 227 : Waving not Drowning Says:

@say I noticed too the oscillations in Dongsuk and Haewon’s relationship. It seems when one decides to go it alone in one direction, something happens which prompts their re-acquaintance. I think their courtship is one of purging a whole lot of obstacles, mainly to do with reconciling their objective with those around them. However each time they give it ago an obstacle falls away.

  228. 228 : reindeer song Says:

@226 & 227! Dongsuk and Haewon’s relationship, I see their relationship like a seesaw, with a series of “give” and “take” moments. For their relationships to be mutually enjoyable, both parties have to play fair. Whether it’s business or personal, some of us refuse to play fair and instead take more than they give, leaving the other person stranded in stupid. I am getting so annoyed it’s always a misunderstanding, its time the writers officially make them a couple working together to solve crimes.

  229. 229 : reindeer song Says:

Is this drama the Ok Taecyeon show, there are other cast members, why on every link I look at it’s Taecyeon, have we gotten any photos of him pooping? Or one of him on the porceline potty. You have everything else why not that!

  230. 230 : CW Says:

So many secrets have come out and it’s only half way. Anyone want to guess the hit & run mystery. I say Mr. Oh did it & the recording that Haewon threw out was her dad wanting him to “take responsibility” for hitting grandpa & the kids.

  231. 231 : reindeer song Says:

CW I agree, HW was to quick to throw away the recording. Well, she has her Dad’s friend who will testify, maybe he can account for the accident, and what happened.

  232. 232 : say Says:

@CW very good insight, she was too quick to threw away the her dad recording then the bad guy I don’t think we have seen the last of him,I do thinl he will come back again try to destroy Kang Dong Suk and Cha Hae Won relationship, maybe that is when every secret including the one we don’t know yet will come out, there must be a reason why the writer brought back their father, all this is why I wanted the writer to speed up Dong Suk’s Older sister

  233. 233 : say Says:

@CW very good insight, she was too quick to threw away the her dad recording also the bad guy I don’t think we have seen the last of him,I do think he will come back again try to destroy Kang Dong Suk and Cha Hae Won relationship, maybe this time all the family secret including the one we don’t know yet will come out, there must be a reason why the writer brought back their father, all this is why I wanted the writer to speed up Dong Suk’s Older sister wedding with the doctor friend,so that the family will not be against Dong Suk’s relationship too much. The older sister wedding will enable them to see the bright side of the accident it has been a long time now no need to punish two people whose fault was not their, accident is an accident Hae Won dad also did not plan to hit them or someone else did,who knows I will continue to watch nice story.

  234. 234 : jmac Says:

I’AM FALLING IN LOVE WITH KANG MA RI. ♥♥♥ she looks like Eun Yun Hye

  235. 235 : Lady Says:

@jmac, maybe her name is Kim Ma Ri.. I love her too
I love every screen of Dong Hee n Ma Ri 🙂

  236. 236 : jmac Says:

She will be a Kang… SOON. she’ll get married to Kang Dong Hee.. Too bad it wasn’t me.. BUT I STILL LOVE HER 🙂

  237. 237 : Fanny Says:

Beginning, I really like this story how Dongsuk got backo his hometown and met back his first lover, Haewon. Both of them are very wonderful couple but until disclosed all the guilt that Chisoo done and now started to talk about all Kang members getting their own partner and Dongsuk and Haewon still hanging, I really started boring to watch it. I am not interested all the uncles and brother’s lover. Too many nonsense pairings.

  238. 238 : Eugenies Says:

This is a family drama, it is not a melo-drama. Might-be you don’t know how to different the drama? Melo-drama, focus only the main actors but family dramas are all sharing and related to each others, that’s means more actors are concerned.
This drama is not boring at all, every episode is full of excitements. I can’t wait for the next new episode until I must who is the culprit behind DS/DO accident?
    Please do enjoy yourself……

  239. 239 : Ivory 3434eh Says:

Just login to say, ‘Hi’. I love this drama very much, the story is nice and is really one of the best family drama regardless of the ratings judgement.
All the veteran actors in this drama are mostly A-list actors and I never feel they are boring at all, just the story is too slow to reveal the trues and lack of communications related to the issues that we wanted to know.

  240. 240 : Biri-biri Says:

Episode 27 already subbed and this episode is so awesome. One of the best. Donsukie is hot guy, he claimed to Haewon that he can’t sleep well because so many things bothering him and finally he takes a nap in Haewon’s café. Even with the eyes closed, he can senses Haewon hand and hold on it to his chest. I want to watch it 20 x.
    Bye! random talks.

  241. 241 : Waving not Drowning Says:

I especially loved the first meeting between Dongok and her father. Although the dude has little in the way of redeeming qualities, in Dongok’s eyes he is dad.

Kim Ji Ho’s portrayal of Dongok is simply sublime.

  242. 242 : say Says:

Dong SUk father suppose to go back to where he is coming from,my guess today’s episode he tells the wife he abandon the secret of Haewon father,he was the one that is responsible for the accident, but unfortunately the way it goes, Dong Suk grandfather forgive and give them his blessings to marry. which is good for all the problems been taken care of in one episode because it is taking too long in their relationship. The person I really feel sorry for in today’s episode is Dong Suk’s Older sister, her boyfriend took her to see his mother,as usual one must pay a high prize including sweat and blood to marry any male child in Korean society, this is just too much the way Koreans writers portray women to be a slave because she is marrying him,I don’t know what is really wrong with Korean mother that they never say to any woman that come to the family to marry their sons, too much of shame if it really happens that way in really life.

I for one didn’t want the writer to give Dong Suk’s Older sister trouble in marrying the doctor, she has already had troubles of her own in her disability why add more dear writer, don’t make it boring please, her smile light up the screen every time she appeared. The doctor mother look like a snake yet she is rejecting a beautiful woman, ugly shit, please writer don’t bring her back again in my screen I almost threw up when i saw her ugly face, don’t bring her back again please.

The twins and the teacher, look so much alike, they lighten up the screen also, the teacher is so pretty, combined the teacher, twins, and their father together, wow, one good of beautiful family, nice I love them.

please dear writer please, please do me a favor, limit the air time given to the uncles and their old girlfriends,I am too tired of seeing them taking too much of air time in this drama, they put me to sleep when I am watching them,in fact they are boring to watch, enough already, instead bring back the other lady that interferes in everybody business, she is not boring at all to watch please.

  243. 243 : Hsu Myat Pan Says:

I like the actor and actress. They are old service.

  244. 244 : reindeer song Says:

Say Say, You marry into a korean family, you will become the slave girl, working from sun up to sun down. One of by friend left korea to go to school, decided to stay, fell in love and marry a lovely man. Her reasoning was she refuse to marry into any korean family, for the sole purpose, she will be cook, slave and bottle washer for everyone and the kitchen sink. As stated, she could not in good conscience abandon her family for that kind of life.

  245. 245 : say Says:

@reindeer song,so it true, what the writers are saying, when a woman marry a man into a Korean family, she become a slave,no wander,I was thinking it is just the writers imagination, and because people become addicted to watching evil mother in laws that is why this writers continue to portray Korean women like that, wow that is so sad, then again the woman should wake up and know that it is not right the way they are treated, and give it back to the mother in laws, this is not dark ages anymore, those days are gone the daughter in-laws has to move forward and free themselves from been maltreated,if it means avoiding living with your in-laws when you marry then do that take your husband away from been force to chose between wife or mother, only come to visit when necessary, then again only those do not have money to buy or rent apartment will suffer greatly, this is a shame for lost of conscience of mother in-laws to repeat what happen to them to their own daughter in-laws too.

now this writer is insane, dragging this despicable story line is disgusting, what is going on,the grandfather is dead and Kang Dong Suk mother keep crying for what reason I don’t know, common, why is she making a big deal out of this, even when this girl come to your house beg for forgiveness, clean your house,go to your restaurant help out both serving clean yet Kang Dong Suk mother till can’t get pass what has happen a long time now,she is punishing a woman like her whose no fault of her own,the person who did it is already dead and loses his fortune before he died, why all this hate to wards her, this is why I like watching a drama when all the episode are complete so that I can skip uninteresting episodes, this is becoming too boring to watch.

  246. 246 : reindeer song Says:

Say Say, now I am just relaying what has been told too me by my friend. I have been to Korea many times and lived for several months, my experience is that most of the younger generation are moving to change, a lot of new marriage do not live with in laws it is slowly dwindling, but some of the mama’s boys choose to put their wives thru that torment. Why? They want someone to take care of their mother’and his family, that is why many korean are opting to have daughter over sons, many none at all, the men are hopelessly voided. You an tell the difference from live in wives and wives that live on their own, they look older.

What we see in drama does happen it just escaleted more for dramatic effects. If you notice a korean man will never marry a foreign person , very rarely, but korean women will in a heart beat. The only ones who does that are the older country bumpkin men who need wives and korean women will
not marry, then they complain about the gene pool, hello failure to see you all are not pure bred. Korean parent like docile women to marry their sons, women who will not talk but adhere to the family.

  247. 247 : wbd Says:

When a kdrama depicts a daughter-in-law being treated like a slave, or a betchy mother-in-law whining and nagging, or the parents choosing the wife or husband for their children, please believe it is so. In the korean society, for whatever era we are in, such conservative practices still exist.

  248. 248 : wbd Says:

Now this reminds me of one unnerving incident that happened to me one day when I was the hair salon having my hair done. Came face to face with a scrawny whinny middle age woman, also a client. She looked me up and down as if I was there for a husband hunting interview, while overworking her facial expessions, she finally ended her unfriendly assault by reaching out to the necklaces I had and asked in a haughty tone, “where did you get your gold necklaces. Good color, solid gold!” As if …!!!

My conclusion is, this is the type of “betchy” mother-in-law material. Can you imagine a poor long suffering daughter-in-law living with her!

    Shivers my liver!

  249. 249 : PS Says:

Dongsuk’s mother is not a slave driver. For those who have not watch the show from the begining. Dongsuk’s mother was a maid for Haewon’s family for many years. They ill treat her and her daughter. They even call the police that her daughter had steal from the family. Dongsuk’s mother had to go on her knees many times to ask for forgiveness. So when she knew that Haewon’s father is the one to cause the accident that caused the grandfather to be bedridden and her daughter who does not act normally after the accident. She felt anger and bitterness as they should asked for forgiveness but instead they gave her money for operations as if they were her saviour and treated her badly for 15 years. Haewon is now trying to ask for forgiveness so that she can marry Dongsuk by acting like a maid just as Dongsuk’s mother was.

  250. 250 : reindeer song Says:

PS, no one said DG Mum was a slave, the conversation was on MIL’s and the treatment of DIL’s and if it is stil a common practice or just dramatic effect. Yes, in many Asian and Pan Asian countries this practice still goes on. Yes, it’s scary. If you are of such a conservative country, where is compassion, helping the less fortunate. I can go on and on but decline.

  251. 251 : Waving not Drowning Says:

I think everywhere, mothers do the house work because they are better than men in nurturing children and keeping house. The modern view seeks to destroy that natural order and frames such a beautiful service to loved ones as slavery. Yet if one bothered to take the extra step in their reasoning process, one would find that both the man and the woman are so to speak, slaving away to maintain their family. However, depending on their reason for enduring it, they can find great happiness in such an enterprise.

Dongsuk’s family is not the ideal. His father shows strong narcissistic tendency and no redeeming qualities to invoke our sympathy, what to speak from his own family.

  252. 252 : S biscoglia Says:

Anyone else think that the father who just returned could have something to do with the accident? He has made comments about not being able to return, so I’m wondering the reason for that. It could be he is just a bum!

  253. 253 : Waving not Drowning Says:

There doesn’t seem to be a reason to support the notion @S biscoglia. In episode 30 he tells Haewon he was given compensation money by the drunk driver who caused the accident, but that he had lost it all to the last woman he was with.

The guy is no straight-shooter. We can’t be sure when he’s not putting a spin on his accounts of the events.

  254. 254 : say Says:

@PS Says:,I do follow the drama, though I do not understand the language been spoken but with the English translation, can I am able to follow what is going on.

now, no one is doubting how much Dongsuk’s mom suffered, what she went though was horrible, abandon by her husband, bedridden grandfather, daughter with some disabilities plus a baby that her husband had outside his marriage been brought to her door step to take care of,that is amazing strength and unimaginable burden to deal with. also watch Hae Won’s mother abuse her and her daughter, is a very painful thing when one think of it,Why I think Dongsuk’s mom take too much time in given her blessing to her son marriage was her suffering has kept her family stronger and together, she is longer a maid of any body, her son success become a prosecutor, her raised children and grandchildren is a reward of her hardworking, that is why she could have welcome Hae Won as a daughter in law with an open hands, no one should repeat what happen to them to other person,Hae Won is not a messy girl, she grew up in Dongsuk’s mom eyes, she has seen how good hearted she is,she begged Dongsuk’s mother day and night, she came cook ,clean, kneel down, till Dongsuk’s mother cried that her son is marrying into that family, the nagging was too much, she could have use herself as an example that no matter how hard things are for you one can till over come it.it is not that Hae Won’s father set out to say he is going to kill Dongsuk’s and his sister also grandfather,it is an accident, meanwhile Hae Won father lost everything he dead not as a happy man and once a maid become much more successful than they could had ever imagine.if I where to be her I will not hesitate to make her my daughter in law, because my tears has become tears of joy.

@reindeer song, thank you for your view on this topic about bad mother in laws,I am getting sick of Korean writers always writing about bad mother in laws almost in every drama, this writer should make a change not glorifying it with their writing.I for one see Koreans culture so much more too extreme than Chinese culture,I wander if any other culture can be welcome into marrying in any Korean family, which is so unfortunate.

  259. 259 : Waving not Drowning Says:

@reindeer song, It’s the same in most countries with an entertainment industry. They follow a business model which identifies where to expect the highest yield. Contents are shaped accordingly. Because they are driven by money, there is no reason to change the model if it is working for them. So we, the audience suffer.

We might blame it on academia for churning out business heads who have more regard for the dollar and less for people.

It is the very same mentality in the food industry where we pay top dollar for foodstuffs that have lost 80% of its nutritional value due to a business model geared towards money not people.

Or we might take the problem further and examine the values we’ve adopted that makes us stupid when it comes to assigning responsibility to politicians who manage/mismanage our resources…. and so on.

  260. 260 : Waving not Drowning Says:

I don’t have a problem with this drama in particular. So far it’s been a sublime journey. It has for me at least, a graceful atmosphere in spite of the turmoil the family goes through. They hold to and value the family structure as if sacred. That takes a special kind of vision even if in part, drummed into them. I chose to believe there are people in that country still, who have been blessed with such a vision of what a family is.

  261. 261 : Waving not Drowning Says:

What is exemplary is Dongsuk’s mother. She endured much hardship and kept home intact. Took care of her husband’s bedridden father till he passed. Raised her husband’s child from a one-week-stand as her own.

  262. 262 : CW Says:

I’m back. I’m more a mystery person, so does anyone else wonder why H is willing to accept a well know lying criminal that her dad was the driver. Where’s the proof. Romance in this drama not too bad. I like the children’s interaction. Sometimes the younger ones seem to be a back drop and not much story-line. Also, the broken home situations are not seen as “end of world”, never to be forgiven attitudes…

    Peace, love & respect,

  263. 263 : amel Says:

nice dramaa!! the plot is very good and getting more interesting in every episode!

  264. 264 : reindeer song Says:

CW, why because he is an elder and what they say is goes. That’s hierarchy for you. No wonder Asian can be a bit dumb down on common sense.

  265. 265 : Waving not Drowning Says:

@reindeer, my dear, whatever is your problem with “hierarchy”? Nature is steeped in hierarchy. Our numbering system is hierarchical. I don’t think it is even possible to organise society without utilising hierarchy. If it’s not too difficult, would you kindly explain what you mean?

  266. 266 : reindeer song Says:

Yes, I do not think people should listen to other “willy nilly” older or not, you have a brain in your head think, research question. I only have a problem with the Asian system of hierarachy, you have to do as your told that’s it with no room for voicing your opinion. Okay should I say egalitarian beliefs instead? I guess I’ve gaged everyone by the standards I was raised with. To think for yourself, if by chance you need help in sorting out your problem then you can go and have a sit down with your parents and ask for guidance. Simple! I do not have a problem with the whole system of hierarchy that will be looney for me to oppose.

  267. 267 : Waving not Drowning Says:

Mmm.. At the heart of an aversion for the type of hierarchical order you’ve described might be a fear of the unfair distribution of power. And I guess, the perceived injudiciousness of such an endowment to those whom we decided are untrustworthy.

    Thank you dear @reindeer.

  268. 268 : reindeer song Says:

Waving not Drowning, Yes I have a strong aversion of that type of HIERARCHICAL. This was handed down thru generation without thinking respect should be earned, not to be stuffed down your throat because you are an elder. I do not like to be called noona, I have a given name, please use it.That was my big hangup about korea, I wil not call you oppa, I will not call you other than your given name. Sorry! So sorry!

  269. 269 : Waving not Drowning Says:

    @reindeer song
And as you lay there on the couch; “Tell me; How long have you had these feelings?” (He-he-he… joking)

Actually respect for elders is earned. You might note Taeseop is given zero respect though technically he is next in line after his father who died. Instead So Sim became the matriarch and head of the household by dint of her devotion to the family.

I see the benefit of hierarchy in this instance, in the transmission of wisdom garnered from the life experience of an elder to the remaining members of the family. Without a hierarchical structure the process would not occur, perhaps leaving the family somewhat bereft and the elder’s own life somewhat meaningless.

While I admire their social protocols, like you, or possibly for different reasons, I myself could not function in their society.

  270. 270 : wbd Says:

It is respected that hierarchy is one of the pillar of the law of nature and which guides us all, humans and animals. But as thinking Humans, we must learn to use our discretion too when at times we are faced with the decision to whether to abide or not, to this law.

In my opinion, following strictly and blindly to the law of hierarchy is meant for only those who do not fully apply their capability, for a simple reason, which is “just because” .

How many of us have been doing a certain thing in a ritualistic way not knowing why we are doing it for, “just because” our grandmom/mom had taught us this way, and “just because” it’s been done for generations?

Can’t we just break away from the heirarchy (grandmom/mom’s instructions), and finish doing something achieving the same result in a shorter time? Or trying to break out and swim to safety and not putting on a hard-hat and hide underneath a table in a tsunami “just because” we have been instructed by the voice of authority (heirarchy) that this was what we have to do in an emergency?

Like Reindeer Song, without disrespecting the voice of heirarchy, I am an advocate of self reasoning when necessary, not be a blind lemming.

  271. 271 : reindeer song Says:

Waving, my first trip to Korea astounded me, then my second trip really threw me, so that was around 19 thru 23. It’s a slippery slope, yes, I understand becoming the head of a household due to an absent member or a death , but as such you should guide accordingly, not take a dominant stance as the one who has all the answers and you MUST listen and OBEY.By the trail of our emails, “lets agree to disagree”. Thanks for the chatter.

  272. 272 : Waving not Drowning Says:

“Blind following” is a pejorative term. It makes little sense since everyone thinks for themselves and those who appear to have surrendered to another had made a concious decision through some concious process. And on their own volition, decided to surrender themselves to another person.

Who are we to question their decision or to call it “blind following”. We ourselves are doing the same thing only in our case we choose not to see it as “blind following”. It’s arrogance really..which amounts to a type of bigotry. (This isn’t a personal attack on your good-self dear @wbd… please don’t be offended.)

Of course none of it has to do with the hierarchical ordering of society. The two are separate things. One is about human behaviour the other is about a system of structuring. There’s NO empirical evidence to support the assertion that a hierarchical ordering of society denies or discourages autonomy of thinking. The notion is simply preposterous.

We do find however in totalitarian societies the liberties of individuals such as free-speech, freedom of expression, freedom of religion etc. are strongly regulated and constrained.

  273. 273 : say Says:

this drama has become senseless, who go to work on wedding night or spend his first wedding night in the office, come on,dear writer what a senseless thing to portray this adults like a child, this really ridiculous writing,I drop this drama it has become a waste of time to watch it,i never thought i will drop this drama, because in the beginning the pictures photo was very intriguing very nice pictures of ordinal people be taken as how they live their free life every day but those photographs are not enough for me to continue watching this rubbish the writer is presenting to the viewers. Almost every part of this drama is so childish, adults acting like a children,I am done wasting my time.

  274. 274 : reindeer song Says:

Waving not Drowning! I love your way of phrasing your response. also, that word “DEAR” seems a bit condescending. When I greet other I am so accustom of saying “Hi Love” for me it a term of endearment, for others it’s uncomfortable. Well our chatter continues. Lets continue to delve into the foibles of KDrama. Tattaaar!!

  275. 275 : reindeer song Says:

Another comment SaySay! Is the writer protraying them as innocent love? They both have been around the block. It is very child like as said, maybe these writer have never been in love or in that kind of situation, or they are still virginal (Sure) in that respect. I do not like the way they are protraying the two leads in this drama its dull with the back and forth, I am at that marriage stage where they chose to give up each other due to the suffering, hello! Why! When is the block head father will make his departure, he is giving me agita, though well acted mind you, but its time he departs so the storyline can develop.

  276. 276 : Nudge Says:

@reindeer ““DEAR” seems a bit condescending”.

Not at all. I don’t use the term generally, but to be sure my meaning is NOT condescending or disrespectful where it’s called for, I use it as it was used in classical literature to signal my sincerity. Once that is established, we need not use it again.

It is interesting now you raised it, unlike the societies of 100 or so years ago, we use less and less terms of respect.

  277. 277 : reindeer song Says:

To Nudge and others, I am not making an issue, its just an observation. As I stated I use the term”Hello Love” when I meet others or friends, guys especially have a slight astonishment of uncomfortability. Again, I stated it a “Term of Endearment” The word dear was not only attached to me that is why I said something. SORRY! When I use that word, I annunciate it differently. Lets not give power to the thought!

Its a free world. We all make our own choice, may it be heirachial or of our own volition.

At the end of the day, whether we sink or swim boils down to whatever choice we make. Don’t you think so?

Life is all about choices, a good and wise choice or a bad one is all up to each of us.

Bigotry has nothing to do with it. Free will, does!! (Go slap your own head. What were you trying to say? )

  283. 283 : John Says:

It started good. But as soon as “father” came back after decades of abandoning his family and whoever writing the story trying to make sorry for him, this drama turned to a piece of shit. I never heard such unrealistic and stupid story. I left Korea about 40 years ago and hope that korean do not still fall for this kind of 3rd rated shitty work.

  284. 284 : reindeer song Says:

John I totally agree, with father segment has ruined the integrity of the show. By the way when is he leaving?

  285. 285 : cradrama Says:

@John & reindeer song. I am super surprised that this drama is the top of the chart. that show how people are. I can’t stand the father and have to give up this drama. The stupid story plot is what made of those hallucinate writers in Kdramas, some of them make you wanted to pull your hairs out. They are not realistic just delusion.

  286. 286 : reindeer song Says:

Oh Cradrama spear me. The writing and storyline went downhill when the father entered the picture. Making the male & female lead wishy washy, how many times has HY changed her mind about marrying DS? They are not decisive, you see in one episode that DS tries to be decisive and take a stand then the next episode he is wishy washy, they keep seesawing. It is truly frustrating. My question again “WHEN IS THE FATHER LEAVING”?

  287. 287 : kingtez64 Says:

  288. 288 : Farah Khan Says:

I am so eager wanted this drama to be ending faster. First, I am so fascinating about the wonderful story about Dongsuk returned to his hometown met back his first lover and his family after 15 years departed. But now, approaching to the end, I only knew how dysfunctional family that Dongsuk had and so many illogical elements between his family members. Now, I just want to know when can Dongsuk just leaves his family and lives with his wife in Seoul? Hope they will have wonderful life in Seoul in the end. (^=^)

  289. 289 : Piqueek Says:

That’s an interesting take Farah. Dongsuk and Haewon going off on their own. But this is a drama all about family.

I’ve always thought they’d work things out and live together harmoniously with So Sim and the others. I think one of the Confucius aphorisms that is underpinning the drama is: seeking balance against difficult odds. The concept relates to the symbol on the South Korean flag.

The drama focuses on the dynamics between the individuals of what someone here termed rightly as a “dysfunctional” family. Though I think every family is dysfunctional to one degree or other. It is because we as individuals are developing new desires constantly. Many of those desires tend to conflict with those held by other family members. But deciding what is most important: one’s love for family or the pursuit one’s own desires is the (philosophical) question.

Tae Sub is the embodiment of the latter. He placed his own desires over and above everyone else’s, and lived it. But on returning he didn’t get the welcome he expected. It is noteworthy that “family” by dint of their adherence to family values is already affecting him, correcting and setting him on the right path.

Tae Sub as the antithesis to those values the writer seeks to expose, therefore he is a necessary character. Although the character is somewhat exaggerated he’s someone we’re all familiar with if not living with.

  290. 290 : CW Says:

I’ve heard in Korea there’s a lot of censorship in music, could it be the same for dramas. After trying to catch up to comments, I wonder if the writers are pressured into writing what the “perfect” situations should be, i.e., hierarchy, marriage, divorce, abortion, adultery (only on the part of the woman), etc.

There are some realty programs (Love in Asia to mention one) that show Koreans in a better light, men that don’t cheat, mothers-in-law are kind, children respect elders…..Again, is this what they want outsiders to believe it’s like all the time.

I sometimes watch reporter Luke Cleary (English speaking) and it seems as if they mostly give him “fluff” to report. When I watch the untranslated news, it looks like there is more not so good news being reported.

  291. 291 : reindeer song Says:

CW Korea has always censored anything new going out into the world. They want the world to think they are an inviting nation and all is welcomed. NOT!
All the English news you see are all censored, there is always more to the stories, if you cannot speak or understand korean well you have to just accept what is being said, Koreans living abroad will not enlighten you. That is the facade they want you to see and know. Go to Korea, it a very beautiful country, but the people not very welcoming to tourist.RUDE!!!!!

  292. 292 : reindeer song Says:

After every episode I ask myself, “When are they going to get to the Wonderful Days?” Forty-seven eps later, & I’m still asking that question. The characters have had a few “happy” moments here & there, but they’ve been so sporadic as to be nonexistent. I’m on the Mother’s side. She needs a rest from this family that loves her, but are still so very dependent on her. Gosh.

  294. 294 : aznative Says:

You hit the nail on the head. Thank you for so succinctly stating the premise of the drama.

  295. 295 : Piqueek Says:

Done watching episode 50. To me Wonderful Days story is too slow, not enough comedy and the leads is kind of boring. Jang Bo Ri. It started with no 1 rating all the time and becomes 2nd in the last 4 episodes. Anyway I’m done with this. I’m currently addicted to It’s Okay That’s Love and Come! Jang Bo Ri.

Wang’s family was a master piece. The days cannot be wonderful to a family falling apart when it should be getting closer.

    must watch film…. it’s really drama of the year….. don’t miss it, guys….. 🙂

  302. 302 : CW Says:

Ok, all you doubters of “wonderful days” meaning. It’s true, sometimes we think what now is happening to us is unbearable, but later we realize it wasn’t all that bad.

I’m glad that they inferred that the mother was not going back to her ex. Writers continually try to preach that divorce is “evil” and contra-country ethics and/or morality.

  303. 303 : Piqueek Says:

A great drama. But I felt at episode #48 Soshim’s talk with her husband was disingenuous and especially because it was at a crucial point in the story. Making out that stepping away from the family was for Taesop’s sake.

That reasoning if maintained to the end of the drama exposes the build-up of Soshim’s character as a fraud. Which in itself undermines her enormous sacrifice, her tenacity. A feeble and tiny woman overcoming insurmountable obstacles to keep home intact.

It would have been better — if the writer meant for her to be a little selfish — that Soshim wait out the years with family basking in the glory of her achievement. Reflecting on the true meaning of sacrifice and of family. As someone once said: A strong nation is forged on the moral strength of its mothers. Gratitude is yet to be expressed. Honour is yet to be officiated what to speak of the love and respect and adoration of the grand children and great grand children.

But to truly appreciate that truth is yet another struggle. And all of our life’s struggles are not to resolve with bitterness for that would mean there’s still lessons to be learned. Soshim spoke then with concealed bitterness.
