After watching the first 2 episodes, I feel that the plot is not draggy as compared to most Korean dramas. The details were revealed very fast and by the end of episode 2, viewers will have a pretty good idea on what is happening and what the plot will be for the remainder of the series.
As the title goes, the focus will be on the 2 actress Kim Ji Soo and Lee Ha Na. Both of them acted very well especially Kim Ji Soo. But for some reason i just like Lee Ha Na’s character better. She seemed so cheerful even though she grew up as an orphan without knowing where her parents were. In contrast, both the actors Han Jae Suk and Jung Gyu Woon seems to receive less attention in the story, at least this is the feeling I got from the first 2 episodes. Hope to see more of them in the future episodes.

Thanks for the reply from mikky & chikasso. I knew that im able to watch it through KBS Cable but i always couldn’t reach home on time to watch & was hoping that this site provide the english subtitle. So in the end i decided to watch it with chinese subtitle (eventhough i don’t understand at all but i managed to watched it till the end). It was a very nice drama, good storyline with best casts. One of my best drama. SO well till i couldn’t wait anymore to watch till ending. Still hoping the english subtitle to be upload soon in this site so that i can rewatch from the beginning. Highy recommend. Oh ya message to HELEN…..the title of the opening song is THANK YOU.

Ji Soo’s character is fairly well written. Instinct for self preservation is always behind any successful career especially one constantly in the public eye. But her street instincts from living in an orphanage validates the almost evil decisions she makes. Together with the mother tormenting her by favoring the natural born sister, makes her actions in the drama plausible. She does all of this gracefully and with sutle facial expressions with slow pleasant movements. In contrast, despite also coming from an orpanage, Ha Na, is pure and simple, quick, appealing with a bubbling personality steals the show and works well with Han, Jae Sook’s quiet, honest, warm, and deliberate personality. The plot, romance, contrasting personalities, good acting, good storytelling makes this drama pleasant. Not too many wasteful over-crying scenes. Just some soft ones. Not many cliche scenes like the heart attacks at the critical moment (maybe one, the mother falls down the stairs). The drama moves at a good pace. Beautiful actresses in nice wardrobes that can act subtle… the look, wince, drop of the eyes…. nice filming in fairly glamourous settings with a daily fashion show. Very enjoyable.

Highly recomend to watch those whom want to revenge on someone or forget and forgive. Personaly oppinion FORGIVE its really difficult, but the elder sister spoke her heart out with sincerity.

This drama was not really good at all, hate it. The movie was very dragging, I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
August 31st, 2008 at 6:47 pm
The story is ok, but not innovative. The plot is a standard one. Pretty girl has ugly secret. Ugly secret is catching up with pretty girl. Audience sees it coming, but pretty girl does not, so there is suspense. Wham! Pretty girl suffers and must show contrition because ugly secret is now revealed. This is an old standard that still serves good duty for film, if the acting is superior. I have not yet seen “Women in the Sun,” but I suspect that the brouhaha is a bit overblown: the result of successful advertising campaign. It is probably a reasonably good film, at least compared with most Korean fare.
September 1st, 2008 at 6:07 pm
The story revolves round the 2 sisters.. the male actor are just side dishes. Both the girls acted well, however for the 2 actors; one is quite emotionless and the other display almost the same expressions for all scenes.
I like the dilema scenes of the 2 sisters though… the younger sister… to forgive or to hate? Elder sister… to tell the truth or not? The hatred of women is scary (including the mum).
Anyway I liked the story. Overall, I give it at 4/5

September 8th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
Hi, just watched the ending. Quite confused whether Do Young lived in the end. Did she just fell asleep while at the beach with her sister? very good drama though, highly recommended.
September 12th, 2008 at 1:00 am
THE DRAMA IS VERY INTERESTING THE FIRST TIME THAT I SAW IT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION!!!!!:)
September 12th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
I wonder DO YOuNg still alive or she died in the last episode..(wid a box of tissue beside me)..this drama is so touching….
September 12th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
I was so curious..
did do young die? GOsh,
she is pity..
September 16th, 2008 at 7:02 am
unfortunate yet fitting, for do-young to die…do-young dies at the end, victim of our sometimes cruel world…burdened with the irreparable mistake…
October 2nd, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Actually Do Young is a victim of her own actions… When she first made the terrible act of abandoning her sister, she was young so it wasn’t unforgiveable. But as an adult, when she later met her sister & knowing who she is, she still carried on lying, pretending & acting innocent – that was too much! And lastly, she died because she chose too… It’s a cowardly & irresponsible act. Fortunately, she was given a chance to seek forgiveness…
October 9th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
so catchy. what touched me more on the scene when her biological mum at her deathbed told her that she was all the time moved surrounding her, gave her the umbrella when she caught up with rain, sent milk to her door everyday, followed her everywhere and she also followed her and the sister on the day she left her younger sister at the train station. It was a very touched moment how her own mother felt sorry for her for acted that way. In order to avoid for her to be blame on her sister’s MIA, the mother sent a fake ransom letter to the parents….. it’s so dramatic. hmmm i kind of like this drama coz not so much of the love story. Honestly it’s a bit of relate to my life too. When I was 15 yrs old, my mum gave birth to my little sister and they really put 100% attention to her, I was jelouse and often get blame for whatever happened to her when she cried but day by day goes by, I love my sister so much. I am so protective over her. Every festival, I will buy presents and clothing for her first, my parents then only for me…….. I never put myself first then her….
October 15th, 2008 at 10:59 am
I have watched almost 10 different korean drama, but nothing can be compared with this. It has a different story. It is about a person seeking for love and ending up doing something she regrets all her lyf. This korean drama made me cried in the last 4 episodes… I consider this one of the best korean drama i have watched.. I defenitely recommend this..
October 17th, 2008 at 5:03 am
Could anyone tell me if the younger sister ended up with the older sister’s fiance in the end? Thanks!
October 27th, 2008 at 12:12 pm
This story had many meanings. The desire for love at all cost, jeolousy, driven revenge, and the sadness of regret. It was well made. The actors were fantastic. I have to give them an A-plus for their performance. Good work!
November 7th, 2008 at 10:47 am
this story is sad! I really feel sad for doyoung she always feels that she lost because of her mom.

I’m watching this drama and on eps 12 now. I heard of this but didn’t take time to watch until I found out several actors in this drama won KSB awards. I’m most impressed with Lee Ha Na. I’m not too thrilled seeing Jung Gyu Woon with Kim Ji Soo, he’s way too young for mateur and successful woman. I’m so touched with the love Lee Ha Na for Han Jae Suk. I don’t know the ending, but wish for them to be together.

This drama. It has haunted me for years. I watched it and I kept wanting to recommend it but I was never able to remember the title. I don’t know a lick of Korean nor the actors or anything so I would look up key phrases. Four years later and after watching many other dramas, this one is still one that I think about and is one of the best I’ve seen.

I AM AT EPI 18, AS EXPECTED DO YOUNG DID NOT END UP WITH JOON SAE. THOUGH DONG WOO IS A VERY SWEET GUY. THE THREE CHARACTERS DO YOUNG, JOON SAE AND DONG WOO DID VERY WELL. I HATE YOON SA WOL! VERY BAD ACTING. NICE OR BITCHING NOT GOOD FOR YOU. YOU SHOULD GET MORE CREDIBLE ACTRESS TO PLAY THE ROLE, LEE HA NA LOOKS FUNNY WHEN SHE ACTS AND FACIAL REACTIONS – – AAHH NOT REALLY GOOD. I HAVE WATCH HUNDRED OF KDRAMA BUT THIS THE ONLY THING THAT THE ACTRESS I DID NOT LIKE SO FOR THAT IM NOT GOING TO FINISH. SORRY LEE HA NA.
