I like the leading actress, loved her performance in the Return of Iljimae, but not sure about her short hair.

I watched all 16 episodes and I really understood the story until the end and I just couldn’t figure out the writer. I’m not going to give up the ending but very disappointed! I’m so glad there will be a season two of “I Need Romance” with Lee Jin Wook because even season two of this drama will be better than tmiy. The actors just followed the script but it was obvious the writer didn’t care if the couple’s had any real
chemistry or not? In the end I felt like I wasted my time and what a ridiculous ending!

I’ve been a fan of Yoon Jin Seo ever since I first saw her in Return of Iljimae. All of the episodes with English subs were just uploaded recently, so I can’t wait to see her as the lead in another TV drama. Because she’s mainly a movie actress, I have only seen her in RoI, so far.
I was pleased to see that this drama aired on cable because cable channels aren’t as restricted as open air channels. Because of this, I’m looking forward to seeing this subject handled in an adult manner. I also look forward to seeing Yoon Jin Seo in a romantic comedy.
So far, it’s getting good reviews, so the links should be available for a long time.

I just finished the first episode of Twelve Men in a Year and loved it. Yoon Jin Seo’s character, Na Mi Roo, is a mess. She’s quick-tempered and impulsive, so her actions will definitely drive this storylines in this drama. So far, 3 men were featured in the first episode, although Mi Roo is only personally involved with one – or at least she was personally involved with him until they broke up.
This episode reminds me of Sex and the City and I hope this theme continues throughout the drama because I love adult romantic comedies.

Episode 3
I just watched episode 3 and I continue to love where this show seems to be going. Mi Roo was getting along so well with Mr. Aquarius, the physicist, Hyun Woo, that I wondered how she was going to manage to date the rest of the men of the horoscope before the end of the show.
I really liked Mi Roo with Hyun Woo, but I’m glad their relationship wasn’t as smooth as it seemed at first. Now, I’m ready to see her get together with the next guy.
When Mi Roo drinks, she is completely unpredictable and in this episode she turned into the ex-girlfriend from hell. I alternated between cringing in embarrassment for her and her ex, Jin Oh, and laughing my ass off during that scene in the restaurant. The fact that her drunken self was humiliating Jin Oh while she was trying to help him was hilarious.
Her best friend, Tan Ya, is funny, brash and loyal. Love her!
That scene with Mi Roo’s mother was also interesting and I look forward to seeing what comes of it. Apparently, her marriage has hit a dull, rough spot and her husband may not be aware that she is not happy. Interesting.

I watched this drama while waiting for some of my regular dramas to be subbed and boy, am I pleasantly surprised!
It has the light, breezy and flirty tone in the vein of I Need Romance which I enjoyed very much too. While it may not boast of young eye candies, it certainly more than made up for it with good storyline, tight pacing and credible acting.
My only quarrel with it is the ending. It’s not that great (erh… meaning not what I wanted it to be) but I can live with it. All in all, a show that shouldn’t be missed!

I am on episode 7, liking it so far. I think all women same age could relate to this drama, much more than the traditional fairy tale KDs.
May 8th, 2012 at 9:53 pm
This drama is so much fun! I wish it never ends! Would be nice if the make more of these kind of dramas than the traditional ones!

I liked the actress a lot in R of Iljimae. But her char here is ditzy, completely unprofessional n irrational; not my fav kind of person or heroine. I find her acting over the top. In the middle of ep 1 n not liking it too much.
May 20th, 2012 at 10:40 pm
Ep 2:
She is making an ass n a fool of herself at the party. It makes me cringe. Maybe later eps r better, but here I’m In the middle of ep 2 n finding it difficult to continue.
For both eps 1 n 2, I couldn’t finish an ep in one go. It just doesn’t go down well, this char n her antics, her self-destructive ways, her lack of sense. When I saw the parents organizing a BBQ for her n her bf, I feel sorry for her them to have raised such a child, their only one.
May 20th, 2012 at 10:43 pm
jangerr says in #31 that she likes the credible acting. On the contrary, I’m finding the acting completely incredible. Or is it that the char is incredible? It boils down to the same thing: it makes for a char I can relate to, Mi Roo.

I recently completed this drama and it didn’t disappoint. It was refreshing to watch a romantic comedy and have no idea how it was going to end. The best thing about this drama were the characters. They were so lively and unpredictable that I never knew what to expect from them.
The ending was a surprise, but a pleasant one for me because I didn’t see that coming at all.
@ Micc
I share you feelings because I also wish we had more non-traditional romantic comedies like Twelve 12 to look forward to. This type of drama is a refreshing change of pace.
@KDaddict
Hi, it sounds like this is not your cup of tea and there’s nothing wrong with that. However, I think you’re confusing not liking the lead character with acting that is not credible. They are not the same thing.
The character, Na Mi Roo, is supposed to be volatile, irrational, and impulsive. If Yoon Jin Seo had not played this character this way, *that* would have been less than credible acting.
As it was, Yoon Jin Seo did a brilliant job in conveying these less than flattering traits for this extremely flawed character.
I also found Mi Roo to be a character who wanted love, but had a hard time dealing with the sometimes boring reality of love. I had a good time watching her journey throughout this drama. It was also interesting to get more insight into her parents’ marriage and to find out more about her best friend, Tan Ya, and about her ex, Jin Oh.
One of the things I loved about Mi Roo was that not only did she drive the storyline, but she also had some of the most outrageous moments during the drama. That’s very rare for a lead female character. I suppose it has something to do Korean actresses believing they need to be protective of their image because their fans may have trouble relating to their characters if they go too far outside of what is considered acceptable for lead female characters.
From what I’ve see and heard about Yoon Jin Seo, she’s one of those rare Korean actresses who is fearless in both her movie and TV roles. I remember reading that the PD for one of her projects said he chose her the that project because she’s an actress who takes chances when choosing her movie and TV roles.
I love this and I’m trying to get my hands one everything she’s ever done because she has been a pleasure to watch in all her roles. I knew there was a reason why I was so impressed with her in Return of Iljimae. She is not the typical cookie cutter Korean actress and I love her for it.
May 22nd, 2012 at 10:39 pm
Having said this, I’m not knocking other Korean TV actresses for being so cautious. I’ve seen enough of K-drama fandom to know that these actresses may have cause for concern. Some fans can’t separate reality from a TV or movie role and could cause these actresses a lot of trouble if too many gather together at once to express their displeasure.
I also recently read that some PDs refuse to consider married actresses for lead rolls in romantic comedies because of concern about how fans may react and that’s just sad.
