They couldn’t have cast a better actress to play the young Lee Hwi than the cute Choi Myung Bin who is also currently in “Young Lady and Gentleman” as the daughter Lee Jae Ni.

And… I agreed she is a perfect forte for the role. Both romantic male roles are also a vision of masculinity but handsomeness. I have noticed on a lots of interchanging roles coming from South Korea; and sometimes innuendos on sexuality issues on drama
series. Hopefully one day, South Korea society will come to terms in the matters of gay and lesbian issues rather than cover up with pretenses. Love the series overall.

“Hopefully one day, South Korea society come to terms in the matters of gay and lesbian issues rather than cover up with pretenses.”
I think they have come to terms with it and I don’t think it is ‘pretense’, rather a conscious choice based on their values and traditions. You’re framing it as if they are denying the existence of same sex. Have you not noticed there are no overt acts of sexual intercourse in their dramas? It isn’t that they’re denying it exists rather they are promoting the importance of relationship and family over sex. The nuclear family is necessary for a good economy.
FWIW, I think the influence of western liberal/progressives values will probably win out. Meantime, let us enjoy kdramas without the liberal/progressives agenda for however long it lasts.

Bro they never mentioned sex ever they were talking about how the two leads are male ik the prince is a girl in hiding but she’s acting as if she’s a man and jung ji woon fall in love with her when she was pretending to be a guy and yet the fact that he probably likes guys but Ppl in SK won’t admit it cuz they’ll say stuff like “well he is a girl in reality so he doesn’t like guys”
There is no “liberal” agenda or nothing ur just a homophobic

@Jisoo Kim — Of course there is an ideological agenda; liberalism is an ideology. The Joseon courts were divided in part by ideology and in part by clan/tribe. Liberalism today is essentially cultural marxism. During the Joseon era the equivalent to liberalism were the factions that opposed those that held to traditional values. That isn’t always obvious in these period dramas, but it is there if you drill down and examine the ideology of the political factions.
‘Homophobic’ is one of those words liberals use as a cudgel to bludgeon others who hold to a different point of view. Nothing I have said would suggest I fear homosexuals, nor do I hate them. What I object to is the politicisation of sexuality—homo or otherwise. Take your ad hominem crap and shove it.

Oh my God. The male lead just admitted he loved the prince even though the prince is a man. So romantic
