To end his life without regrets, he points a gun at corrupt Public Prosecutor General Lee Tae Joon (Jo Jae Hyun).

  3. 3 : KDCraze Says:

Is this the same story as Punch in 2003 ? Not sure whether to watch this or not. I’m not a fan of Kim Rae Won.

  4. 4 : Jinci Says:

    . . . H.E.A.L.E.R. . .

  5. 5 : adi Says:

i just finished A THOUSAND DAYS PROMISE and KIM RAE WON was incredible!! excelent!! lovable!! on his role on this drama LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

  6. 6 : anonymous Says:

Kim Rae Won, Kim Rae Won, Kim Rae Won…

    Saranghae 🙂

  7. 7 : JY Says:

Solid casts…hope the story is as solid

  8. 8 : Amayar Daewi Says:

I’ll watch this drama and Gangnam Blues Movie because of Kim Rae Won .. Kim Rae Won !! Fighting !! .. I’m always your fan … 🙂 🙂 🙂

  9. 9 : da fan Says:

Yup, Kim Rae Won is definitely one of my favorite actors. Most of his dramas are intense and he has done a great job. Keep it up! First episode manage to hold my attention.

  10. 10 : rairamegumi Says:

wait…brain tumor?…so he will die in the end?…
I’ll wait until the drama finish then before I start to watch…if it’s a happy ending then I’ll watch but if it’s sad ending I definitely not to watch…lol

  11. 11 : Birddybuddy Says:

    Same here lol 😂

  12. 12 : usa-mary Says:

I’m a HUGE Kim Rae Won fan with his fine self, but after reading the synopsis, I have to forego the tear jerking dramas. Been there, done that. What a bummer!

  13. 13 : Adeul Says:

I think this is a little like “Shark” (without the vengence) which didn’t leave me in a good or a bad space. Just nothing.

The main here is a bad guy too. To the injured bus driver and family, this guy did a nasty thing without batting an eyelid. It tells us a lot about the type of person he is.

The ex-wife will no doubt guide this lost soul on the path to redemption as he exits this life. Like “Shark”. I think I might give this a miss. “Healer” seems more up beat.

  14. 14 : Michelle Says:

What is the website I can watch with English subtitles….

  15. 15 : usa-mary Says:

Kim Ah Joong is one of my favorite actresses. I remember her well from 2 of my favorites, That Fool (kidrama) and 200 Pound Beauty (movie).

I know, I know what I stated earlier, yet I just can’t help peeking in on my 2 favorite actors. At least for now.

  16. 16 : eny Says:

the first 2 ep is good is good, so far i like it, the writer is the one who write the chaser n empire of gold, i watch because of the writer
this is completely different story than punch 2003, punch 2003 about bocing player to overcome his trauma n guilty feeling after his opponent die but punch 2014 is about lawyer who fight for power vs justice

  17. 17 : aznative Says:

    @ Michelle

USA viewers can watch on Dramafever, Soompi TV and Viki.

  18. 18 : @odds Says:

I like this drama, but I don’t think I will like the ending. . . it seems the main character will die in the end. Again, another tear jerker, leaving his ex-wife who he still loves and his daughter.

  19. 19 : james Says:

    Kim Ah Joong amazing!!!
I surprise the rating very low 🙁

  20. 20 : shh Says:

keep climbing rating!! This drama deserves so much love!

  21. 21 : usa-mary Says:

@Michelle-14: I watch it on dramacool.com here in the U.S.

  22. 22 : usa-mary Says:

Admin, the cast member listed under ‘others’ has Jang Hyun Sung as Prosecutor Jang Ming Suk. According to this drama in episode 2, he’s Dr. Jang Min Seok, Director of Neurosurgery at Jinsung Medical Hospital. Thank you.

    (@usa-mary from admin: Thanks.)

  23. 23 : tigerb Says:

ep 1: like in ‘pride and prejudice’, i can understand office/organization politics, but really manipulating facts to the prosecutors advantage to get what they want is deplorable. ha kyung should have chosen to testify against the nominee prosecutor general, after all she already learned that her ex-husband has 6 months to live, and she as the mother will eventually have guardianship to her daughter. interesting!!!
    will follow through!

  24. 24 : semar Says:

    no ep today

  25. 25 : tigerb Says:

this is what real dramas are made of: dirty politics, creating dirt, covering it up, creating another dirt, covering it up, repetition makes the pile go up and wide. since nothing goes up without coming down, splash! am still on ep. 4.

  26. 26 : gie Says:

I am very happy to see Kim Rae Won act again. He is truly a great actor! I hope that it will top the rank file.

I am impressed with the little girl who acts as his daughter in this story.

The story is great . . . . . . . If you have less than 3 months to live, what will you do just to see your daughter happy and leave without regrets? This will be a great story like the story of “A thousand days’ promises”. Sad story but the essence of it will remain into your heart. I hope every viewer will see the heart of it.

    God bless!

  27. 27 : tigerb Says:

park jung hwan has nothing to lose except his life in three months. no stopping of pulling tricks he has to save his daughter. krw is very good in this role. first time i’ve watched him, should see his past work.

  28. 28 : usa-mary Says:

@tigerb-27: I’ve seen some of KRW’s earlier works, and he’s never disappointed me ever! He’s an excellent actor. By all means, checking out his earlier works is well worth doing.

I tried to stay away from this drama, but with such phenomenal actors makes it difficult. KRW and KAJ’s delivery is EXCELLENT and the chemistry among all the actors is extraordinary. I’ve never witnessed a bad child actress or actor, yet regardless of the role and age. This little girl brings here top notch abilities to the table every time.

I like how JW relays to the Minister and Prosecutor Jung how the game is ‘really’ being played among those in the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office. Its not roses and daffodils as they would like to think. Its more like out fox the sliest of foxes at every turn.

Even though I get the gist of this drama, I still hate the conditions of his illness. Its hard watching his effort of coming to terms when the final curtain comes down in 3 months and he takes his last bow. That’s what I’m dreading. But, for now, I’m enjoying this drama immensely.

  29. 29 : usa-mary Says:

Ye Rin inherited the prosecutor charisma and persuasive characteristics without a doubt from both parents. She already demonstrates leadership abilities. First, she’s always dressed; Second always prepared; and Third, ready to go! LOL So cute!

  30. 30 : tigerb Says:

@usa-mary: thank for confirming that i should watch krw past work. that’s what i usually do: like an actor’s work, so would look for their past projects. have been happy so far.
as to this series, you probably have watched a lot of tear-jerkers. i don’t like those either specially involving family affairs, but this one i’d follow through. there’s always an end to everything, and pjh had done a lot of bad manipulations so i’d like to see a 180 degree turn of events, if ever, although ep. 5 showed the same of his past doings in order to release his ex-wife, thus protecting his daughter.
they got a good cast for ye rin as the couple’s child.

  31. 31 : usa-mary Says:

    @tigerb-30: You’re welcome. I find him a fascinating actor.

Yes, I have watched more tear-jerkers than I care to even think about. Even when I try to avoid them after diligently reading the synopsis, the writer manages to sneak in a scene or two that unbelievably rips at us viewers emotions. Yet, this one is very intriguing to me. I like the storyline and the acting. The plot’s momentum of staying ahead of the fox by outwitting him is very clever and off the charts. The family aspect is full of love, warmth, filial piety, and protection; combined with across the board manipulation of justice; seasoned with just a bit of suspense.

I believe he’ll eventually do a 180, but not too soon. Which is why he said to the Minister of Justice Yoon and Prosecutor Jung to keep the good prosecutors away from him while he turns situations around his way.

  32. 32 : Carmen Says:

This drama is getting better and better each episode…OMG those Prosecutor are so corrupt, some of them…it is unbelievable…I hope that Park Jung Hwan, tell his ex-wife how he field, and maybe he can help her geting those mean people, do you hate the guy that is working and making fun of him????how can they play with his life?????Park Jung Hwan will die, and they should be more nice to him, but NO NO NO…they preffered to manipulate him and make him die sooner……they are really mean people…..

  33. 33 : usa-mary Says:

These people are rather vicious in the world they create. They walk around and act as if they’ve done nothing wrong…until they are about to be exposed. Then, they fight for the right to have their dealings concealed and to remain sinister. Crazy!

  34. 34 : tigerb Says:

whatever happened to ‘checks and balances’? the department to do the checking needs a lot of checking itself!

  35. 35 : usa-mary Says:

@tigerb-34: The checks and balances are in place. Yet, its among the non-management, the workers who work hard to show that the tax payers money is being spent well; keeping the bureaucrats looking good to the public. While the bureaucrats create their own sub-cultured, non-ethical set of checks and balances for themselves. We saw how that one prosecutor had a flow chart with photographs of who was the head of what post and who was going to fill vacant positions. He decided, not the voters. Its sad, but a true fact that the only way a bureaucratic head is exposed is either by a fellow colleague like Jung Hwan or someone else close to him that knows his business dealings. Its rare to find people willing to put their life on the line for normal, daily ethics, not to mention business ethics dealings involving power and wealth.

  36. 36 : tigerb Says:

@usa-mary: that’s why i don’t want to work for the govern-ment. one never knows what exactly is the agenda of the people above you. on the other hand, those things happen in private companies too. i like what jung hwan suggested to that lady who worked under him (she has a big crush on him, i think, that’s why she stuck!) to calculate which side she should be on since he would not be around for long. dang, can you imagine if one should keep on calculating which way to go? it’s always easier to do one’s job honestly and earnestly, and if one can’t stand the atmosphere, quit! (if that’s an easy way out!)

  37. 37 : usa-mary Says:

@tigerb-36: Girl, in this drama, a person can’t pick at a boil on their behind without somebody knowing about it and holding it against you. Did you notice how that sleazy, turncoat doctor turned the tables on Jang Hwan by holding his meds hostage, using it as a bartering tool? Just so he can be assured that he will repeal every past conviction, not just the most recent one which he did. Even after Jang Hwan kept that sleazy, no account from going to prison; he turns around and illegally divulges his patient information and gave his meds to that prosecutor. He told them everything. Whoever holds the fiddle is who that white coat donned fool dances for. Its horrible how Prosecutors Tae Joon and Kang Jae are taunting him about his illness and needed medicine? Its pass being cruel. Its appalling. Karma baby, KARMA! Jang Hwan risked everything to help Lee Tae Seop escape from 300+ police, and that ingrate LTJ turned on him anyway. Its not his fault that his brother took his own life right before his eyes. He’s now targeting everybody. He needs that Kudza root taken away from him until he knows how to treat people. After finding dirt on Minister Yoon regarding her draft dodging son, I wonder what he’s going to do to Prosecutor Ha Kyung? Her record is clean, so its obvious from his conversation with Jang Hwan that he’s going to try and hurt her physically in some way. I just don’t see how Lee Tae Joon could openly threaten Minister Yoon or any prosecutor for that fact and its overlooked as if child’s play. A threat is a threat and needs to be taken seriously, regardless of the source. I wonder if LTJ is going to use Jang Hwan’s delirium period of forgetfulness against him by setting him up with a murder? Dang that sleazy doctor. He needs his license revoked, reneged, eradicated, withdrawn, discarded, expulsed and more. I wouldn’t even trust him as a car mechanic, like unnie doctor’s boyfriend. He’s more like a used car dealer…selling 4 wheel drive lemons.

I really admired how ex-MIL still cares about Ha Kyung well being and thinks highly of her, but that changed quickly after she upset Jang Hwan. It was like get out and take your child with you! AND…no gifts for you either! LOL She had good reasons IMHO for why she did that and I concur. Ha Kyung didn’t give thought to him being recently released from the hospital and who got her out of prison. She’s locked into tunnel vision arrest mode. Ex MIL obviously wasn’t the typical hovering, meddling and demanding MIL.
(The majority of the MIL’s in kdramas make me think that the women should seriously seek out orphaned men.)

Jang Hwan finally revealed what point he would like to go back to if he could start over and it wasn’t with his ex-wife and child. It was with Prosecutor Lee Tae Joon. I suppose he’s like a mentor/father-figure to him; one he obviously never wanted as an enemy.

Jang Hwan is trying to wrap up as much as he can while still agonizing over his fate. Its amazing how the writer has him go against the criminals and help them at the same time. Jang Hwan is the first kdramaland character I’ve witnessed who can successfully operate in the gray zone.

I’m awaiting for the time when Ha Kyung is going to start helping him.

  38. 38 : tigerb Says:

@usa-mary: i thought jh was semi-delirious when he said he wanted to start over with pros.ltj, but maybe getting close to ltj again can make his revenge easier, if that what he has in mind, or, an easier way to get his pain killers from him. the synopsis says jh points a gun at ltj, that’s probably when his ex-wife would start helping him. i watch ‘pride and prejudice’ and it’s about prosecutors and their wrong doings too, and it’s ending tonight. i wonder what ‘prosecutor’ drama series will be next.

  39. 39 : usa-mary Says:

@tigerb: The more frequent pain will probably make him resort to pulling a gun on LTJ. I hope its soon that KH helps JH. I actually hate the way those two are treating him regarding his meds. I believe he still loves his wife, since he told that young woman who is interested in him, the decision he made and kept since divorcing KH.

I wonder how they’re going to soothe their child’s broken heart from missing her graduation performance? The little sweetie cried the whole time and couldn’t be consoled by her teacher. What a shame. As parents, they have a lot of making up to do.

  40. 40 : usa-mary Says:

P.S. Though earlier on in the drama JH portrayed his dislike for the prosecutor who invited HK and his daughter to I suppose his family farm. He knows this guy likes her. Since coming to terms with his fate, I noticed that he’s softening a little in that area. As if, wanting to assure that she has someone in her life that cares about her and his child in the future.

  41. 41 : usa-mary Says:

Minister of Justice Yoon should have known better than to side with Prosecutor LTJ. The payback ratios for matching his taste will only be in his favor. With a 10:1 ratio of LTJ’s (demands), to Yoon’s 1 agreement. She soon found out that he will continually hold over her head her son’s military draft dodging until she agrees with his demands.

Why eat only the raw fish when you can eat the smelly fermented skate

I like the Assistant Ministry Prosecutor. That older man has integrity and is fearless. He didn’t care who sent the order from the Blue House. He’s going to uphold the law.

  42. 42 : da fan Says:

Anybody who watched ep.8 care to explain why Ha kyung was so upset when she saw some documents from the safe deposit? Can’t read korean so don’t get it. It’s the same documents that Ha kyung showed the Min of Justice shortly after.

  43. 43 : usa-mary Says:

@da fa-42: She cried because it wasn’t the Chairman’s confession, but JH’s personal papers preparing for his departure. It was either close to the end of episode 6 and 7’s beginning (after Ha Kyung was released from prison) when JH was on the top porch, making and sailing paper airplanes with his daughter of the actual confession. He didn’t retain a copy. For some reason, Ha Kyung doesn’t recall the one sailed by her daughter that landed at her feet. She picked it up, and looking at it, yet I suppose thought nothing of it. It actually was the last page that had the Chairman’s signature (fingerprint) on it.

  44. 44 : usa-mary Says:

These prosecutors are SCANDALOS! If they worked as hard for all their constituents like they do trying to stay ahead by outwitting each other and keeping others from knowing their dirty deed, everyone would enjoy life. But, that’s too much like being right for those people.

  45. 45 : usa-mary Says:

What…no romance or ongoing romance in this drama?! I know Jung Hwan still loves Ha Kyung and accepts their distance. Yet, there’s still no romantic love in her heart for him? Only sympathy?

The closes example of ongoing romantic love in this drama is when the detective that works with HK talks about he and his wife. Maybe and it’s a big maybe to add a smidgen of shots with JH and HK early on before their marriage and with the baby. But, other than that, there’s zilch. I miss seeing endearing, romantic moments.

  46. 46 : da fan Says:

TQ ‘usa-mary’. I was wondering why Ha Kyung cried so fervently when she couldn’t find the confession. She wasn’t that upset when she found that he was really ill. Anyway for such an intelligent girl she wasn’t even aware that the Minister was a double headed snake?? Ever so trusting and doesn’t seem too enthusiastic about what happened 7 years ago…

to me this is the best show on air right now its so good i feel like am wasting my time watching anything else , cant wait for next week wish he did not have a month to die but then again that factor alone is what makes the show more fun because he has no time yet so much he wants to do

Episode 11 is great! Kim Rae won………… You are indeed a great actor. Writer and Director are commendable.

  50. 50 : tigerb Says:

so, the writer for ’empire of gold’ also wrote this series. while i enjoyed that drama immensely, this series is far more interesting, what ‘the birds of the same feather flocking together’ but fighting each other. i like krw’s face silently seething when he loses a strategy – that simple act alone is tremendous!

  51. 51 : tigerb Says:

    ….what with ‘the birds of……

  52. 52 : da fan Says:

couldn’t agree more with “torri”. This drama keeps me watching without feeling bored. There’s always something going on. On the melo-drama side I follow “the legendary witch” and perhaps “healer”. Most of the other dramas are quite “slow”and perhaps I am bit bias on who’s acting.

  53. 53 : usa-mary Says:

The screenwriter of this drama and the actors are phenomenal.

Its like watching a timed-clock chess game tournament (centered around Jung Hwan’s life expectancy). Its interesting how everyone is trying to intellectually outwit the other by either trying to stay with in the parameters of the law to apprehend the internal offenders of it or either ridiculously bending it to suit their motive of greed. Each ones agenda has merits and/or sever consequences.

  54. 54 : usa-mary Says:

The prosecutors in this drama must live on antacids and alcohol given the stress they encounter.

  55. 55 : usa-mary Says:

@53: Oops! That should read severe not sever. LOL

The Prosecutor (de)Genera(te)l and the Minister of no-Justice are vipers. I look forward to watching those two anacondas squeezing the life out of each other, politically.

Okay Jung Hwan, what else do you have to fight those two with?

  56. 56 : lady hope Says:

Wow.. Kim Rae Won sshi is really a great actor… and the other casts are great..

Its an eye opener to everyone on whats going on politically.. The story is fast and no dull moment for me.. I hope the writers will continue make the story interesting.

  57. 57 : torri Says:

JISSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! the show is incredible its like wow wow wow i mean the writer is gooooood i cant discribe how i feel in words about this drama but one thing i can say is a must watch show

I don’t want the actor to die at the end

  59. 59 : lila Says:

Excellent drama, kim rae won is the best actor <3 <3 <3

  60. 60 : tigerb Says:

i know this is just a drama, and plot wise it’s extra-ordinary. compared to the writer’s previous work ’empire of gold’ whatever was happening was okay because it was about a private corporation so the greed of all those people was fun to watch as to who wins. but this drama is different as it is set in a government agency, and sometimes i am so riled up, yeah, for nothing as it is just a drama. guess that’s how excellent the production is! needless to say, i’ll follow through.

  61. 61 : tigerb Says:

okay, part of ep. 13 made me laugh so hard, it eased up my anger in how things went the last episodes.

  62. 62 : Carmen Says:

The drama is about prosecutors high-up in the supreme court. Is it realy a lot of corruption, in those prosecutors office?????OMG it is unbeliavable…is Park Jung Hwan really getting skinee…OMG …he is daying but still working like nothing….I hope that his ex- now really do something with those carruptors….

  63. 63 : gie Says:

Episode 13 was one of my favorite episodes in this drama…….. Why? Well, I like the scene when JH daughter discovered that her father had brain tumor and will stay in this world for only 3 months. The girl who acted as his daughter was suitable in her role and her acting was great. Father and daughter relationship was impressive. Another scene that I like is when JH hold the hand of his ex-wife. Holding the hand of his ex-wife makes me happy because it makes me feel that there will be a very good ending, even if the lead actor will die. I think the ending will give hope and happiness to the people around JH. The last PUNCH of JH will be remembered by his daughter. Her daughter will be a prosecutor and her parents will be her inspiration especially her father. Just only my fancy idea……. but hoping for a very good ending.

This drama always makes me think what will happen next……… It is so unpredictable.

Kim Rae Won is really admirable….. I am hoping that he will have another drama and with actress Song Hye-kyo (Full House 1) or Han Hyo-joo (Brilliant Legacy).

I am hoping that this drama will top the rank file (1st till last episode)…….. FIGHTING!!!!!!!!!!

  64. 64 : gie Says:

@63 instead of “Her daughter”….. it should be “His daughter”….. LOL

  65. 65 : kez Says:

Ok this drama is ‘the real show stopper’ (in a good way that is)!!!!

Can we not kill Jung Hwan, Mr. Director? Mh? Mh?! mmhh??

I really like the development so far, at-last ex-wife and husband on the same page for real now. Its true their holding hands had my hopes up for a better ending.

Kang Jae’s return, Ho Sung’s change……made this even more interesting I fear for Yeon Jin now big time.

Thank you so much for acting and directing this drama marvelously.

  66. 66 : kez Says:

It would be nice if there was another political storyline, with different conflicts BUT THE SAME CAST!!! I feel like they really fit those ‘shoes.’ A take 2 maybe? It’ll be sad to say goodbye after this great drama.

  67. 67 : ugly519 Says:

This is really a GREAT drama…very fast paced…the writer to this drama must really have some devil in him or her…to think of some many different things going on…and everyone gets around them gets sucked in…

  68. 68 : gie Says:

@ugly 519: not a devil in him but a huge, strong and wonderful imagination/idea/knowledge. If you watched the Hollywood movie “How to lose a guy in ten days”, you will see there that a writer must do research to enable them to write a story or be incline in that story to make it realistic. It is hard to write if you don’t have knowledge about it, but you must have wonderful ideas to start with…… Just my opinion….

  69. 69 : torri Says:

i cried like a baby yesterday when this guy took his little girl by the sea side and had an honest heart broken conversation about his mistakes and faults and begs his daughter to live a different life from his that killed me with tears, knowing this guy will die at the end made me feel worst i wish i was the writer right now so i can turn this show to a happy ending but that’s just a wish
lets see how the writer turns this hero in to a better person before dies and please writer can y break some legs for all this corrupt greedy selfish people

  70. 70 : gie Says:

The story is commendable even if the lead actor will die at the end. I hope the writer will execute the ending into a beautiful one like my favorite writer/novelist Nicholas Sparks.

Character, Plot and End of the story are very important and in this drama the character and plot of the story are admirable…….and we will wait for the ending. If you watched or read the story of “A Walk to Remember”, you will see how a sad ending become an impressive one.

I am hoping for an excellent ending………… a fancy idea that JH and his ex wife spending the last moment to express their love and forgiveness to each other at the beach……… “The emotion that can break your heart is sometimes the very one that heals it.” – Nicholas Sparks, At First Sight

  71. 71 : torri Says:

OMG !!!!!!!!!! did u guys watch yesterday ep , damn this writer is good !!!!!!i could not stop screaming the way Jung Hwan turn things around for his benefit at the last mint wowowowowo!!!!!!!!!!!! next week cant come fast enough, to the write wish i could give you a hug for this script , fantastic job, well done

  72. 72 : tigerb Says:

the s.o.b.s and b____s in this drama are really something, upholding the ‘law’ (??!!??) at their whim! getting to be fun!

  73. 73 : usa-mary Says:

I’m playing catch up and was doing objectively fine with the overall plot, and the rascal scheming schemers until Jung Hwan’s mother found out via the newspaper article. The brilliant, exquisite writing of this writer-nim really set the scene for the shock. BOY…these people even make dirt look clean! Okay, back to my point. Why…why…why is it his mother’s shock and tears that finally got to me…whawwww! I thought I was getting better with the fact that its fiction and not reality…well…sniff…so much for that thought…sniff.

  74. 74 : tigerb Says:

@usa-mary: not just his mother but also his daughter to learn those things from the paper! while you get teary feeling for jung hwan, i get mad for those people wanting to put all blame on him.

  75. 75 : usa-mary Says:

@tigerb-74: I thought about his daughter, didn’t comment on that thought, but its good you did. However and whenever she finds out…its the writer’s choice.

No, I’m not teary-eyed over JH. Like I clearly stated. I was moved, only then and now, by the acting of the woman who portrays his mother.

True, people are wanting to blame him. That’s what crooks and cowardly people do. They look for a fall guy. I find it fascinating how everyone involved tries to stay steps ahead of the other. To their surprise, JH is not the usual or typical underling. He’s matching wit for wit; power for power; truth for a lie. What I like about him is that he’s man enough to own his mistakes and accept the outcome of his contribution to them, inclusive of what he’s personally facing.

I just watched today’s episode preview, can’t imagine whats going on, i think kang jae going to suicide or something.my god this drama almost given me high blood pressure.

  77. 77 : EOG Says:

The writer attack is the same with his empire of gold work, good script but story is the same, it goes round and round. It seems the writer is good always at the beginning but don’t know how to finish good.

The empire of gold is the same, a strong willed character from poverty then out of the blue committed suicide. I swear not to watch any drama written by this writer but unknowingly without reading about the writer of this, i started watching it until i’ve known the fact about the writer.

my evaluation this drama can be finish on just 8 episode and the writer never improve. He still do not know how to finish strong

  78. 78 : EOG Says:

I am beginning to count location also because this writer has the habit of using limited location. In empire of gold he only uses dinning table and 2 offices. for episode 10 tp finish this is the only location.

In this drama, he is now again in the same habit

  79. 79 : yagi Says:

I haven’t watched chaser or empire of gold. But i really love this drama, especially acting is awesome. No one can point fingers for their acting. I think shin ha kyung will meet that accident and hope to ho sung’s change after witnessing that, he may be understood how cruel Minister yoon be. Only 2 episodes left. Going to miss jung hwan so badly.

  80. 80 : tigerb Says:

@usa-mary: am sorry i misread you. guess i didn’t feel much for the mother because ignorant of what her son has done, compared to what the ex-wife knows, she mistreated the ex-wife, very common of ex-in-laws. i felt sorry more for the daughter, but how could a grown-up reveal/explain to a young one? much as jh wanted to protect his daughter, owning up his past faults and clearing up things is the better thing to do, after all, he’s going to leave shortly. at this writing have not watched yet this week’s episodes.

  81. 81 : gie Says:

Episode 17 is breath taking! Every scene is superb! I am very excited for the next episode. I am curious what will happen to the wife of JH. …………..

  82. 82 : eeeila Says:

I’ve never watched Kim Rae Won’s dramas before. But this drama makes me totally attached to the whole family from Park Jung Hwan, his mother, sister, wife and Ye Rin. This drama definitely breath taking and remind us on couple of mistakes that we have possibly done in making choices in our lives. GOOD JOB SCRIPT WRITERS !!!!!!

  83. 83 : usa-mary Says:

    @tigerb-80: No problem.

Regarding Jung Hwan’s mother, everyone has their own viewpoint on how they see the situation, and I respect that. Yet, from my observation, the mother is in the dark about all of the issues surrounding Jung Hwan’s work place. To make known to his mother or his sister about his work involvements puts them at risk and makes them an accessory to his dealings. Unlike, the foolish wealthy people in this drama who used their underage children’s names (to hide money/evil dealings) as investors of property, etc., instead of beneficiaries of said investments.

I believe the ex-mil treats Ha Kyung very well and cares about her. The only incident where she became upset with her was again, because she’s left in the dark about what the two were actually arguing about which was again, a work related issue. Days before Ha Kyung’s release, ex-mil began preparing food, etc. to comfort Ha Kyung due to her imprisonment ordeal. But, when she heard the two arguing, she couldn’t understand how Ha Kyung could get Jung Hwan upset knowing he recently had major surgery and how hard he worked to get her freed when he should have been home convalescing (HK knew about the operation, but not the latter). I understood that much and sided with her to that extent, only. What I didn’t like was the way she treated grandchild during that incident. It wasn’t the child’s fault, yet its the writer’s choice.

  94. 94 : kez Says:

Wow finally the great PUNCH is finished.!!!

What I like about this drama is that it is different from all the usual dramas, it kept being refreshing rather than dragging.
I ended up liking Lee Tae-Joon in the last episodes…..
The child role was excellently done…you just had to like the kid.

I couldn’t like it any other way round, you have worked hard to give us one of the best dramas.

I would like to see these characters together in another great story though. That is how much good they worked together.

GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!! I can confidently recommend this drama to anyone, ANYONE!!!

  95. 95 : Serena Says:

I agree completely with EOG. Such a pity! Intelligent start but gets lost in the merry go round after episode 8.

I really love Kim rea won the first time I watch his drama what planet are from a fantastic role director choice ..this drama I really like it not just because of the actors and actress but I learn about the law in Korea and makes me think what will be the ending..

  99. 99 : Hanako Says:

This drama is about political greed and power, it is a real touching story in certain parts, and I am sure in every country we have people like that who hold that kind of position. I find the main actor Kim RW is a real good actor, he should do more dramas, as I could not remember the drama ” you who came from the stars”. I had downloaded that drama maybe should watch again as it had been too many years back and I did not watch “a thousand promises”.
In this drama, all actors and actresses were great and you can feel the excitement and not a boring one. Should get an award for this movie.
Applause to the writer and director for this drama
Though it is sad, but it ends good

  100. 100 : Chew Says:

The show is really good, though the hero and heroine are cornered with every move/decision they make. Poor chaps, but this is the real world where money in the hands of the evil will win hands down.

  101. 101 : tigerb Says:

this is a good watch but i procrastinated to finish watching this series since i could predict what would happen in the end. i got tired of how the story went. the writer prolonged and lengthened the number of episodes, which made me feel like am i stupid for watching the endless times the rug is being pulled under from the unconscionable public officials in the justice department who kept on threatening each other with the knowledge of past corrupt acts and mistakes? it can get boring so i had to pause as there were other interesting dramas to watch. it was dramatic that jung hwan’s heart was transplanted to his wife who he believed would bring down the people who hurt him and his family. the thing that made me finish the series is cast’s good acting, and found a very good actor in kim rae won.

what did jung hwan say? there are no right answers in life only choices (at least that is what i read in the sub-titles). that’s a perspective which anyone can challenge.

  102. 102 : winnie Says:

i have this Disc since few months ago but kept on prolonging when a new CD starring my other idols come out. But when i started watching it last week, gosh i stayed glued in the TV till late night. The scenes are terrific, makes you want to see the rest of the story. Very interesting, no boring scenes. I still hope for miracles for Jung hwan.

  103. 103 : Kim Heinn Says:
