Synopsis
Based on the manga series “Liar Game“ by Shinobu Kaitani which was first published on 2005 in Japanese magazine ‘Weekly Young Jump‘.
This drama is about various contestants take part in a game show with a prize of 10 billion won wherein contestants are encouraged to cheat and lie. The contestants who able to cheat the others will wins the prize but debt if he/she loses the game. Contestants include genius swindler Cha Woo Jin (Lee Sang Yoon) and naive college student Nam Da Jung (Kim So Eun). Meanwhile, Kang Do Young (Shin Sung Rok) will play the MC and planner of this game show.

Korean drama take so many Japanesse Dorama that had many awards in their dramas. And I know that’s proof of quality of Japanesse Dorama.

if you are a true manga and J drama fan you understand why it is only 12 eps..this drama is not meant to be a romancey drama….!!

@Snoopy I believe that JDRamas have way better plots than Kdramas its not always about a romance or one crazy disease for people to fall in love, its about suspense comedy trueness. so many kdramas that recreate mangas are never true to the plot and they end up messing up the story line..I have watched this drama but the Japanese version and I have read the manga and I really have high expectations I really hope that they portray everything well and don’t emphasis a romance because romance is not that big in this drama

Since I don t read “Mangas”. I get lucky and do not have to worry if the plot is the same or not. A drama is a drama and whether the plot resembles a preconceived idea or not does not matter as long as the story ends up being good.
As to JDramas or KDramas, I watch both and like them equally, many times a Japanese drama is more fun because they are shorter and I don t always have the patience for a sixteen to twenty your saga. I also find that I like the soft sound of these languages since I don t speak either Japanese or Korean.

This drama is good and im glad it’s 12 episodes. That means the writer probably has the writing and plot locked in tight. There’s no space for dragging, useless characters/sideplots and a bunch of staring in the name of romance. I’m so glad there’s no romance in this drama either although i bet they will hint at it a bit. Just their deep trust for each other will be enough.

Wow! tVN really hit it off….just like always….
I watch the japanese version and honestly I’m the avid fan of the japanese version but I have to hands it up to tVN members….
The plot and storyline is a little bit different but it didn’t bit off what liar games has to offers.
All the gist, the feel and the excitement that audiences looking for are there….they did a good job so far for this remake…
I hope they can maintain the momentum…
p/s: hope tomorrow cantabille(remake) crew can do a job as good as this…i found it dull after the 3rd episode.

Kim So Eun was great in “Boys Over Flowers”….I really hope that her and Kim Beom get together as the main characters in a Korean Drama. It’s just a dream of mine. WOW Lee Sang Yoon get the second main role in this year, first with Koo Hye Sun (main character in “Boys Over Flowers”) in Drama “Angel Eyes”, and now the second one in ”Liar Game”, Congratulations 🙂

I’ve just watched the first 2 eps. Wow….it has a different feel. There’s mystery here but different from a thriller. It feels like watching Hollywood’s genre of riddles and legal/illegal stealing by a group of genius people.
The 3 main leads are great bringing up the mystery feel. I support this drama. Another interesting drama from TVN after Marriage Without Dating. Hahahah…

I’m hooked with this drama…been looking for LSY old drama coz want to watch him, glad to know his new drama came out and the story line is pretty good also (eventhough I can guess it..hehehe). Btw, since I’m from Indonesia, I also surprise and proud to see Jo Dal Goo wearing Indonesia batik in the begining of 2nd episode (while he and da jung waiting from professor Ha came out from jail)…looking forward to the next episodes 🙂

at first I think it is a wonderful serie and brilliant. but in ep 4 , in final voting if the three of jami and other two want to win , they had to vote two NO and one yes (which agreed to bo song jun chi ) but it came to be three Yes . my question is where the Jami’s yes card came ? and when kang do young read the Jami’s yes card , jami didn’t suprise , I think there was a inaccuracy. please answer me thank you .

So professor Ha made LCompany went under, but DJ dad invested in that company and loose all his money. Now professor is going to feel obligated to DJ to help her pay off the loan sharks debt.
Is the game show host having a crush on DJ?? I am not liking him at all. He seems so fake! Why did he tell her all that about professor Ha, then sai I don’t mean to burden you. Yes you did!!
DJ is making me sick to annoyance! How on earth can someone be so stupid. The girl lied to you took your stars and then you are going to make a bet with her on cards. I am sorry, but that’s just dumb. DJ, I know it good to be nice and kind to people, but you have to be a little more keen to human behavior.

This drama is getting more and more interesting. I’m curious about who Kang Do Young is and how he knew the connection between HWJ’s mom, DJ’s dad and the L company. Is he related to the orphanage managed by WJ’s mom? He knew her personally?

I always like movie or drama with a mind game like this. I don’t care about the rating, moreover this drama is aired on pay tv channel.
So…If I have to give rating on the range of 10, I’ll give it 8. If DJ can use a slight of strategic thinking, it will make her character even more interesting…I can give it 9…huhah!

Is Kang Do Young getting more creepy? Yes, yes, yes. What the heck is he,a cyborg? I am so curious of his identity. Was he a part of an experiment in the USA? What is he really after? Did he invest in LCompany and if so why take the lost so serious.
It seems like a personal vendetta, was Professor Ha mother related to him in some way? I am just catching at straws.

The moment i saw Min-kyung i was soooo happy… i missed to see him in dramas.
The best part is that it is soo annoying which makes it even more cute, DJ’s character.
The story and the setting is refreshing and nice to watch. This drama has transformed the k-drama concept most people had, I respect that. It is so good so far, hope for even more fantastic turn of events. I’m on ep 9.
I’d recommend this drama to just about anyone. It is a must see K-drama!!!! Good work everyone.
