So that’s why it would work for the two leads to be together. The sister is not blooded related!

    sandy Says:

    @ Mic

not sure the writer wants to keep us guessing but most likely yes

little DR just cracked me in ep 40 the way she screams at her dad for not being trustworthy with money she is the actual head of the house and she wants to marry many times lol

  9. 59
    Mic Says:

@sandy, hi, yes, the little girl is so so cute! And the way she speaks with an accent is hilarious!

    JJ Says:

@peter — i saw that epis just y-day & dareum was really cute in speaking tagalog – it’s on episode 31 part 5 also epis 32 or 33 – she was so good in pronouncing salamat po, gutom na ako, mahal kita, ano pangalan mo hahaha she’s hilarious!

  12. 62
    JJ Says:

i think dong u’s mother is too much, i know parents are for the welfare of their children but dong u & jae mi are adults & hope these two will finally find happiness after all their struggles!
i really liked dareum since seeing her in princess’ man, o my lady – this child actress really is very smart, i wondered sometimes how she’s able to memorize all her lines – she & her father cracks me to bits whenever they have a scene together! luv her really!

I didn’t start watching this cuz it is so long 57 I only go for short ones but when I saw Lee Tae Sung love him in Playful kiss I started and fell in love with it. The leads interaction/chemistry is good. All of the significant characters’ performance were good. Several love story which made it a very interesting drama. Not so much evilness and vicious characters. One Fine Drama. 8 of 10

    cass Says:

I know now why I was able to get to ep 21 of this drama. The lead ator Lee Tae Sung love Jae Mi to death unlike most Kdrama where the girl is so pathetic as to follow a man like a sick puppy. The male is supposed to fall in love with the girl first and love her to death. This is my opinion thus I love this drama. The leading man knows how to handle his girl too. He is the most considerate lead I’ve watched. All other dramas the second lead is the best and perfect guy. Having said that I am giving this 9 now.

    tc Says:

Started watching this drama because of LBY and got hooked with the plot and well developed characters. Lee Tae Sung as the male lead was the ideal boyfriend and so different from his antagonist role in Rooftop Top Prince.

I also like the side characters especially little Da Reum who was so cute in Oh My Lady and the Princess Man. Amazed at her acting ability, no wonder she got the MBC Child Award. Also like Dong Woo’s mum – this is my ideal mum in law who is so open minded and generous and went round saying ” Shut the mouth”!

This is a wonderful family drama, depicting family values and moral. There is always redemption and punishment for evil deeds, parents’ love is the greatest of all and hard work plus perseverance will eventually pay off.

I like LBY’s character in this drama, so hardworking, resilient, gifted and caring. I also enjoyed watching the transformation of playful and lazy Tae Sung into a mature, caring and warm guy after he fell for LBY.

Only complaint is that it got a bit draggy towards the last part playing along one plot line and would have been better if the episodes are reduced by 10. Nevertheless, it is still an enjoyable family drama and it has the best ending I have seen so far in Kdramas for all the characters including the side ones apart from Family Honor.

dareum once said when her apbah gonna marry a filipino ajumma…she keep practicing how to say
    “salamat po,gutom n po ako,mahal kita,ano po pangalan mo>>>!!!!!!!!!!??”

    Carol Says:

I looooove this drama, but I HAAAATE the cowardly doctor, Jae-mi’s and Sera’s father. He is always, always thinking of ways to save himself instead of telling the truth. Even now that the mother of Jae-mi’s fiance knows who he is, he is offering to break his first wife’s and daughter’s heart by escaping off to the Middle East to “volunteer”, instead of facing the music.

Other than him, the whole cast, including Jae-mi’s no-good first husband has finally had a slight change of heart and been humbled. I hope he doesn’t really give up Hee-su’s baby.

I wish that Suri’s “aunt” had had the nerve to tell her she is her mom, but she seems to have found a neutral place to spoil her daughter without telling her.

Why do they keep replaying the same episodes over and over and over this past month? Let’s get to the end, please…but then, I won’t be happy to know watch my favorite show…let them keep on and on and on.

  29. 79
    Carol Says:

Maybe Jae-mi’s ex-husband will ask her and her new hubby to keep his baby; maybe Sunny will take the baby and be the “grandmother”; maybe Hee-su’s brother will come back and take the baby and be a good uncle…meant to say above, I am in agony waiting to see what happens next, but then, again, I won’t be happy to not be able to watch my favorite show when this ends…I wish they would make it into a soap opera/American-style.

Never thought that this is one of the better drama ever aired and I ‘ve ever watched. Love the chemistry of Lee Bo Young and Lee Tae Sung…They are wonderful together. please I just want to know Jae-mi’s father and mother’s best song in the movie. i’ve searched for it evrywhere. I really need the song, I am inlove with it someone should help out. its not in the list of songs and song sounds like a spanish song

    lclarakl Says:

I tried watching this drama several times over the years and usually got no further than the first 3 or 4 episodes because I couldn’t stand the wife trying to hang on to a man who was constantly begging her for a divorce while having another woman. On top of that she had to be stupid to not acknowledge that fact that he also schemed to take every thing from her.

I also couldn’t stand the cheating father with the younger woman. Not sure wife the ex wife is still having thoughts about this man who comes across as extremely weak and fearful of his money huger wife who doesn’t trust him because he cheated with her in the past now she thinks he will cheat on her. They have a child so why the ex-wife keeps thinking of yesteryear with this man is grating on my nerves.

I’m on episode 20, and the young daughter with the cheating husband is making a turn in regards tot he ex, but her mother is still thinking about her cheating ex-husband and he her. His wife is crazy jealous which she deserve, but I wouldn’t go back to the ex-husband. He has another young daughter.

Yes he cheated with this young woman, but that doesn’t mean he had to marry her, but he did. Now that I think about it because I skipped some scenes, I don’t know if he did it because she was pregnant or not. He made with his ex-wife for not forgiving him and divorcing him, but that didn’t mean he had to marry the woman he cheated with. He should have continued to pursue his wife if he really wanted to be with her. I hate his character as much as his daughter’s cheating ex.

  35. 85
    lclarakl Says:

I’m glad so many people seem to like this drama, but the ex-wife was just too much of a pushover. These people have short term memory and seems to have forgotten that the new wife had an affair with her husband and broke up the ex-wife’s home. These characters are just to frustrating for me to like. I don’t like women in drama who are noting but doormats. Nor do I like weak men. Five Children is a great drama and shows what it means to be a strong woman who stands up for herself.

  36. 86
    lclarakl Says:

Why the ex-wife want that was @$$ man, I will never know. I’m on episode 28 and can take no more. I’m going to start skipping episodes. The ex-wife is also STUPID–both mother and daughter, especially mother.

  37. 87
    lclarakl Says:

I skipped my way to episode 43 and I still think the first ex-wife is stupid. Although she’s telling her ex-husband that is now divorced that she trusts him, all I can think is why? This may cheated on her then with his new wife had an emotional affair with her and now his new ex-wife is trying to get him back and they are both in a hotel room. Why would he even go into a hotel room with her? Hasn’t he learned anything? I think the doctor ex-husband is weak and stupid and I think his first wife is too.

The daughter has gotten better, but she’s still dealing with her over the top crazy ex-husband. This drama is just tiring.
