  8. 8 : Lucy Says:

    very romantic teaser – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfBEkRL06js

  9. 9 : sgelle Says:

song hye kyo and jang seung jo in melodrama i am in.

  10. 10 : Pjs Says:

I just dont like drama with lead actress is older than the male lead…. I know usually SHK’s choose a good drama. But i dont have feeling want to watch this drama.

  11. 11 : Thomas W Says:

If Song Hye Kyo married Song Joo Ki after playing romantic role with him in a drama, what effect might playing a romantic role opposite a different but equally charismatic actor have on their marriage? Surely she is playing with fire.

All the rationale that Hollywood coughs up to justify its couples breakups; couples that find themselves in similar situation; none of it mitigates the pain the children go through when families fall apart.

The mind is obstinate, turbulent and more difficult to control than the wind.

  12. 12 : OK OK OK Says:

Song Hye Gyo born 1981 and Park Bo Geum 1993
Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Geum are both best friends.
It will be awkward If SHG & PBG having kissing scene in this drama…… ha ha

  13. 13 : 그웬 Says:

    gonna love this drama
    too excited 😍😍😍
yes @OK OK OK seems awkward ,but they’re professionals. purely work hehehe

  14. 14 : MaxT Says:

The first episode was a bit boring.

  15. 15 : DeeAn Says:

Yes right , watching 1st episode and its Boring for me :D. noona dongsaeng romance. Rich lady with poor boy.
Lil bit weird . I think I will not continuing this series.

  16. 16 : Lvvk Says:

First episode was a bit awkward. I don’t know I cringed so hard but i guess it will get better as the drama goes~~ also song hye kyo is sooo purely gorgeous.

  17. 17 : Pemain Encounter Says:

nice drama….and good rating for first episode

  18. 18 : kiran Says:

can not understand why they pick park bo gum for the lead actor..it must be really nice if the actor didn’t related with song jong ki..their romance must be awkward..

  19. 19 : Miso Says:

    1) What’s so bad about a younger man striking up a friendship with an older woman? Look at it with an open mind. Nothing sinister in this friendhip here. What gives the eewww feeling is how you judge this friendhip as if you are better than this couple.

    2) And what’s wrong with acting opposite the wife of your best friend? Eeewww again? I see nothing eeeww about this arrangement. They are professionals in their work. If they had a narrow mind about this pairing, Bo Gum and SHK would not have taken up this project. Grow up.

  20. 20 : Chichaloca Says:

Im married to my husband who was 4 years old young wife.people peception are diffrent but we heart and fate are the main reason.i love this drama n the main leads they acting are no doubt..love the last part.epilogue

  21. 21 : Chichaloca Says:

Pardon my grammartical error and spelling typing too rush hehe.overall audiences have their own opinion too like or not too.for me i enjoyed 1st episode and looking for next.

  22. 22 : pineapple Says:

Guys, just try ep 2, it is more excited than ep 1, i understand why some people do not enjoy to watch ep 1, i felt bored when i watched ep 1, it just like a Cuba tourism advertising but when i watch ep 2, i am totally fall in love with this drama.

  23. 23 : Noviana Goh Says:

Imo, i don’t agree that ep 1 is only like cuba tourism advertising, because that’s not only show a positive about cuba. At ep 1, there’s a bad driver that talk on the phone while driving, a broken taxi that not comfortable for tourist, and a thief who stole kyo’s handbag. That’s not adv if show us positive and negative, right? But i really fall in love with beautiful scenary of cuba, want to get lost like kyo do. That’s so interesting. At this drama, i feel kyo and bogum show us a very different personality and they do it so good. bogum is very innocent and happy boy. And kyo’s so lonely and filled with unhappy life. That’s a good pairs for me. About best friend wife, i don’t care lah.. drama just drama.. it’s not a real life, okai? The show must go on.. Encounter team, fighting!

  24. 24 : MJ Says:

I lovee this drama..can’t wait for eps. 3, now I know why they choose Park Bo Gum and its suitable with the character and welcome back again Song Hye Kyo! how I wish there would be Song Joong Ki for cameo 😀

  25. 25 : Negin Says:

I liked the main actor but I can’t get along with his long hair and I don’t like his very white teeth and also he seems too thin in this movie😬First ep was boring 😐😐😐😐

  26. 26 : Cuba Libre Says:

Was Havana just a bait for the first episode because what happens in SK is nothing new, the same old story with chaebol bitches recycled in some aspects such is that Cinderella isn’t a she but he, whatever quite predictable until now, gives me a sort of deja vu feeling.

  27. 27 : Waving Not Drowning Says:

I was really liking this drama till the end of episode 4 when the main guy decided ON HIS OWN to out his NOT-YET-A-ROMANTIC-RELATIONSHIP with the CEO.

What irks me is that he did it without taking into account she might lose her position in the the company; she could lose all—including what is left of her independence—to the scheming ex-mother-in-law. And even if his choice plays to her advantage I have decided he is NOT one to root for.

Where does that leave me? I think I might drop this one.

  28. 28 : Dinh Says:

l love “Encounter” very much. I love SHK and PBG. I wachted 1, 2, 3, 4 more than 10 times. They acted so cute. I wait 5, 6 next week.

  29. 29 : Dolly Wai Says:

I love this drama pretty much, especially SHK, she my favorite K-actress

  30. 30 : Katy Tran Says:

Both main casts are good looking
    But storyline is unrealistic
Why the main character woman had to live in lonely life
The smart woman can not fall in love with younger playful guy
She always respect smart man and admire man with brain

I can not buy this storyline

  31. 31 : Havana Says:

    30 Katy Tran

You are missing out plenty with such a narrow and ignorant outlook in your life. There is plenty to see and experience in life if you will open up your world. The world stage is very BIG and you will find that your life too will become richer and that your boat will not fall off the horizon when it reaches it. Try it. You will find that sunshine is round that corner too.

Enjoy your bigger and brighter new world including the stories Korean tv dramas are trying to tell. There are so much we can learn and get to know.

    Peace !

  32. 32 : Number 9 Comment Returns Says:

I’m baaaack saying that I unexpectedly love this drama. Finally after a trash a drama called Descendants of the Sun (that’s MY opinion) Song Hye Kyo is back in her genre of expertise with one of my precious person in KDrama, Jang Seung Jo and the surprisingly I’m impressed with Park Bo Gum whom I hated his skills in insulting Love in the Moonlight. Encounter fighting! My fave along with The Last Empress and Fate and Furies.

  33. 33 : Momo Says:

This couple is so cute. PBG n SHK looks great in the drama

  34. 34 : Common Sense Says:

I don’t like the story about an older lonely lady goes for a young man. That ‘s right, Katy Tran. Smart lady won’t fall in love with young playful boy who has no stable job at the moments. And I don’t see one in my 51 years circle of friends. Those people like Havana open-minded already in Western cultures. I don’t like Korean women thought they are the prettiest women in world can always get married with younger guys. They weren’t if no plastic surgery.

  35. 35 : Havana Says:

    34 Common Sense

From your comments I gather that you must be 51 years of age now, single and lonely? You do not happened to be a leftover middle age grumpy old soul are you?

By the way, I simply love this drama. I like the storyline and I am very curious to know how this odd couple is going beat the odds placed against. Fighting!

  36. 36 : Tt Says:

This pairing doesn’t work for me. And story line is so yesteryear.

  37. 37 : Be Openminded Says:

To people who would say EWW to May-December affair, I believe you need to watch MORE Korean Dramas or listen to gossips because they exist. (that’s so bullshit that you said ewwww. do you live in another planet that you dont know people like them exist?) And real stories of rich people are not being boast of in public, as it could degrade their standards. Thats why it remained a secret.,That goes to Song Hye Kyo’s character in the drama and Park Bo Gum is like a breath of fresh air for her.

  38. 38 : inar wardhani Says:

“After having a child, Cha Soo Hyun was compelled to get a divorce”
    Child???

  39. 39 : Havana Says:

    37 Be Openminded

Reality of life is… its not uncommon for and older woman to marry a younger man or for that matter, for them to be good friends. This happens not only in S. Korea. It happens all over the world. Its rather common. There’s nothing wrong with it. That’s why I don’t understand how or why some people find it unacceptable.

  40. 40 : Ms Sunshine Says:

i love Song Hyekyo and Park Bogum’s chemistry here ^^

  41. 41 : OK OK OK Says:

Beauty aside. Reality – No money no talk 😛

  42. 42 : Dany Sanchez Says:

Me encanta este drama .. Y amo a Park Bo Gum … Eres un encanto 💕

  43. 43 : Dinh Says:

I loved episode 6 so much. the couple had more happy time together. I like the way they take care together, so romatic and lovely.

  44. 44 : Alpha Says:

I dont really see any issue with the older woman / young guy relationship. It’s uncommon but it happens. People are just used to it being the other way round.
Whats unrealistic is the woman being in her situation. They keep saying shes smart and all and yet shes been living a miserable life. And i get that shes changing but you dont need a guy to do that lmfao.
Also i get what other people are saying, no smart, sane and rich woman would go for a poor dude. Shit dont work that way in real life unfortunately.
The moral story of this drama is YOLO lol.
Its your life so live it the way you want. Dont let other people tell you how to live your life.

    Peace out and happy holidays!

  45. 45 : Grace Antonio Says:

Not watching this drama no chemistry with the 2 lead star.. For me its so awkward.. It’s just my opinion..sorry😛

  46. 46 : Alpha Says:

@45 it’s to be expected. PBG is working and has to act romantically with his best friend’s wife so it’s gonna be awkward AF. This would have been a lot better if they picked someone that aint close to SJK or do a Brangelina and get the husband and wife to work together. Terrible decision to get PBG. I get that hes popular and an eye candy but he’s too close to SJK/SHK.

  47. 47 : Genie Says:

Not really sure if the lack of chemistry is due to the relationship between PBG and SJK. It’s just probably that, lack of chemistry. The 2 are too far apart not only in age, social circles, background, stage of life, and being a mature woman who manages a large co, I find it hard to believe that she would be attracted to a young chap who is carefree and does not know the worries of life yet, lack maturity and taking a day as it comes. The characters conflict is apparent and so is the lack of attraction for one another. SHK’s lack of expression throughout the few episodes, even lack that twinkle in the eyes she had when she filmed DOS. It’s sad. How so? Is she too concerned about her looks/image that she is so unnatural/awkward/lack of life here? PBG on the other hand has some silly/pretentious smile on his face, awkward and unnatural. He was a lot more natural acting with his co star in Love in the Moonlight, the playfulness as a young prince falling in love with a enunch around his age. I hope as time goes by when they are more familiar with each other, the chemistry will grow. For now, I have given up totally after the 2nd episode and just skimmed through the later episodes without much interest when there is nothing else to watch. Disappointing as I do like PBG from Moonlight. SHK – still miss her Full House. Natural and funny. Just be yourself!

  48. 48 : Cuba libre Says:

I found myself skipping parts of episodes which became uninterested such is chaebol family, stupid wicked mother, work at company etc etc bcs all those are over ruled in so many kdramas, nothing new. What keep me curious is the turn point of the story in the second part. In many kdramas which I saw, in the second part they focus in other aspects and what seemed to be the driven force of their lives, in this case the business, politics, power and so, will become secondary or less important so I’m waiting to see something original or new at least, otherwise excuse me but this drama until now didn’t offer anything.

  49. 49 : Dinh Says:

episode 8 was so great. finally, they showed to us their true love . I really like the way that hey solved their troubles, so strongly. I hope this dramma will have happy end. I love both them SHK and PBG. xxx.

  50. 50 : DeeAn Says:

For me, second couple story between Kang Sara – Ryu Eun Ho in The Beauty Inside ( which take the same plot and character like this Drama Ecounter) is more more interesting and natural than this drama.
Kang Sara – Ryu Eun Ho scene always worth too watch along the episodes of The beauty Inside

  51. 51 : Choi Says:

Unfortunately, I only love the first episode of this drama.

Till now on, still hooked on 2 dramas : Sky Castle (to me, this is another masterpiece of KDrama this year after My Mister) & Memories of Alhambra (though I skipped some scenes of violence).

  52. 52 : Boring Says:

Boring boring boring… why does he keep smiling like an idiot??

  53. 53 : Lila Says:

    @Boring
to advertise his dentist, 3xtoo perfect, white, unnatural teeth, the last trend.

  54. 54 : Kristi Says:

    I find it boring, too.

  55. 55 : Yawn Says:

Total waste of time… rich guy poor gal… rich gal poor guy. Storyline is so dated. Cannot believe SHG picked this as her return drama after marriage. And PBG, please drink more coffee to make your teeth look more natural. Maybe you have been brushing your teeth so much that you forgot to brush up your acting skills.

  56. 56 : tigerb Says:

i read comments here about very white teeth. i have not watched any episode yet, but let me comment that almost every korean actor has very white teeth! i find it sometimes so out of place if the role is that of a poor person. i remember watching a trailer of a drama wherein the servants were running away from slave hunters. they painted the faces dirty, but the teeth were as white as snow! that’s production boo-boo. there was only one drama i watched that the teeth of an elderly actor was fit to his role.

  57. 57 : Dinh Says:

I don’t care the white teeth , I only care they acted very good. when they (Soo Huyn and Jin huyk) were happy or upset, I were too when I watched this drama.I ‘m really waiting for the episode 9 on the tomorrow night.

  58. 58 : DeeAn Says:

    @Boring @kristi
😀 boring for me too. Just ended on 1st episode I can’t stand to see Bo geum’s smile it was so cringe

  59. 59 : Mona Says:

Getting bored. Only 5 minutes to finish ep 9. Things i need to watch: secretary jang relationship with the restaurant owner, cha soo hyun’s ex husband.

  60. 60 : Dinh Says:

I love SHK and PBG more day by day. they are so great. they showed to us that they loved and worked by their warm hearts. I feel relax my mind and I think the life is pink when I watch this drama. Thank you this drama.

  61. 61 : Mona Says:

Getting more bored ep 10.. surely i’ll drop this show 🙁

  62. 62 : Linkie Says:

I guess most of the viewers want them to jump into bed on the first meeting, no, that’s not the way for romance, get to know the person, court her, woo her, then love finds a way, this is how this story is unfolding, good location, good writing, good acting

  63. 63 : Havana Says:

So what’s new about this drama? Nothing. 10 episodes on still nothing.

Not asking to see them in bed together, but hoping to see a story which would take a different route from the usual “Dear Agony Aunt” sob story routine that we read in magazines, etc etc.

This show is such a let down.

Made a mistake. Fell for the drama’s promotional hype.
Had expected too much of this drama. Should have known better.

  64. 64 : Sophia Dwi Aprilya Says:

I love this drama alot!!!!! And I cant stop to watching! I love park bo geum alot. Usually I dont like Older woman and Young man in romance or rich woman and poor boy but this time is different cause They are very perfect in this drama. I know Bogeum and Joongki (hye gyo’s husbnd) are really like brother and they are really close each other. And it must be weird when hye gyo and bogeum kissing on this drama but this is just drama anyway! And I love the way they act! Very professional!!! Cant wait till the ending!

  65. 65 : Joan Says:

In my more than 20 years of watching dramas from different Asian and Western countries, very few have captured my complete attention so I would rank this in the top 3 among my favorites in terms of overall quality. This drama depicts the natural progression of love from the initial attraction to the giddiness of having a “crush” then gradually progressing to a deep-seated devotion tinged with respect and burning passion. Though many have said that the plot is cliche, I personally found it refreshing because of the reversal in gender roles with the woman being older, richer, withdrawn and is a well-known personality while the man is younger, the oldest son of a middle-class family, down-to-earth and is just starting a career all within the setting of Asia whose countries are mostly patriarchal. Love between these 2 completely opposite persons seem to be impossible but the drama showed that these are just superficial elements and what is more important in any relationship is the matching personalities and maturity levels of two people. Yes, normally, such a woman would hardly notice such a man, but they met in such an extraordinary circumstance in a completely different country that all the said superficial elements hardly mattered and they immediately saw a glimpse of each other’s personalities. The conflict in the plot may be the usual (a scheming powerful ex-mother-in-all and her cronies, a power-hungry manipulative mother and the stigma faced by a divorced woman in any relationship), but the events that occur in each episode is so unexpected that this drama never failed to keep me at the edge of my seat eagerly anticipating the next episode. What further makes this drama so enthralling is the realistic acting done by the lead actors that you can literally feel their emotions leaping at you from the screen of the television, not to mention their awesome chemistry that even simple acts of holding hands literally made me hold my breath. Even the dialogue, though simple, often relate to arts and literature and is filled with a hidden depth that makes you want to rewatch each scene to ponder their symbolism. Lastly, the direction and cinematography is top-notch. You have to watch to see what I mean. Hence, over-all, this drama is so superbly executed that it can completely suck in the audience into its own world of make-believe. Great job to the writer, director, casts and crews of the drama. Can’t wait for the remaining 6 episodes.

  66. 66 : Lila Says:

I start to think that animated fairy tale like intro of this drama is in fact its concept, a modern Cinderella boy tale, I mean look at how all are tied, he made that effort to find a toy for a little girl who’s mother by chance was writing for a tourism magazine that otherwise was “absolute inaccessible” until that moment for a hotel group, so that lady, from personal reasons, wrote an article about an devoted employee, how objectively. Precisely then intervened the Cuban crisis and he was free to fly there to resolve it making an analogy with his childhood playground and after more than a year, that note he left there was so protected by everyone who trafficked that place that she was able to found and read it and if she would have had doubt about the young man pure intentions now everyone is assured that he wanted a relationship with her unknowing who she was, just like that. I don’t know but somehow it seems that everything is happened by the book.

  67. 67 : Kim Lau Says:

So what’s new about this drama? Nothing. 10 episodes on still nothing.
This show is such a let down.
Getting more bored ep 10.. surely i’ll drop this show 🙁

  68. 68 : Mitch Says:

Maybe a bit boring but i like this drama. I like PBG.
But what i dont understand is the summary about this phase (please correct me if i got it wrong)
“After having a child, Cha Soo Hyun was compelled to get a divorce. She is now a divorcee”- she never had a child with his ex husband. Or did i skip some part?

  69. 69 : iLy Says:

just watched the teaser, not the drama yet, and I feel like not wanna following this drama. I like both PBG and SHG but I just feel it shouldn’t end up like this… hoping newest PBG drama but a li’l disappointed.
PBG new hairstyle too, I don’t like it. with SHG’s short hair, he’s more like a… you know, like awoman.

  70. 70 : Cumit Says:

    Looovee this drama… 😆😆😆

  71. 71 : Happysoul Says:

After 10eps, and still nothing much. I love both actor and actress. Pbg is my fav, watched moonlight umpteenth times and still love pbg. But this pairing … no matter how much i persevere to watch there’s no chem. Now I’m wondering was there a reason they pick this drama? And i wonder if shk”s husband went on set during the kissing scenes. ….if they are professionals…. they wouldnt mind right? He wouldn’t mind wife kissing his little brother pbg? I’m not a pro… and i just can’t. Another kissing scene after this I’m just going to drop. “First time saying this in my kdrama land obsession. 😁

  72. 72 : Havana Idiot Says:

Fangirling, Havana……Seem like you don’t have common sense in life and trying to promote this drama because not the storylines but obsessed of your ‘unnie and oppa’. The ways you said things already you don’t idiot brain.

  73. 73 : Dinh Says:

I really like this drama, I watched every episode at least 10 times, their love is so cute. when I watched SHK and PBG on this drama, I forgot all last drama that they used to attend. Unfair for them if we compare with the last because this is the new story and new situation for them. In my opinion and some my colleagues, they were full chemistry with Cha soo Huyn and Kim Jin Huyk.

  74. 74 : Flora Says:

Cinderella movies but male version😊 and i always like cinderella story. Hope the ending will be good and smooth.

  75. 75 : Havana Says:

    72 Havana Idiot

I do not understand what you are trying to say in your post.

Havana Idiot ! Nice name. Suits you. Hahaha !

  76. 76 : Catherine Says:

So excoted to complete see the full episode congratulations…

  77. 77 : Dinh Says:

I saw episode 14 last night, it was so sad. My heart was broken with them. I wait for next week and I really hope they will have happy end.

  78. 78 : Lila Says:

Just few words after I watched the last ep. This drama was promising at start but ended becoming ordinary and bland besides totally predictable. Nothing memorable. It’s not that I don’t like the lead actors but together they just didn’t spark. I think someone like Choi Minho of Shinee as Jin Hyuk would have been autre chose.

  79. 79 : Vannie Says:

The guy’s smile is annoying already, too much is not good.

  80. 80 : Dinh Says:

the last episode was so great. They solved all the problems. Thank you this drama and SHK – PBG, they acted so great by their eyes ! I haven’t seen the romatic drama as this before.

  81. 81 : RozI Says:

Do not agree with all the negative comments. Absolutely love this drama. Love the happy ending, great acting by SHK and PBG. Wish SHK had her hair long like DOTS she would have look perfect in this role. Short hair doesnt suits her. PBG is absolutely charming and lovable. Cant help wishing he is my SIL for me to pamper.

But honestly, now that i have watched it from ep 1 to 16 already, overall i can say that, the STORY IS GREAT, ACTING OF THE LEADS TOO, nice ending. Drama is close to perfect. Maybe next time less smile for the actor who played Jin Hyuk, there are times that it is not needed. Anyway, he is handsome even when he is not smiling. He acted so well along with Song Hye Kyo, the queen who hasn’t age, she looks young in this drama. Unlike many here who are saying the two has no chemistry, for me they are a perfect match, beautiful together. Nice drama!

Among the multitude of stars, one stares down at me. – Jin Hyuk

Among a multitude of people, i stare up at that one star. – Soo Hyoon

I hope i spelled their names right. Lol..!

@ Thomas W : Do you lecture Song Hye Kyo’s husband THE SAME WAY ? All married actors are playing with fire, that includes the men. I do not care because they chose their path. We all know this is wrong yet we all watch the shows.

Now, to whomever criticizes noona romance : get over it. The world is changing as in society accepts it more and more. Shin Min ha’s boyfriend, Song Hye Kyo’s husband are YOUNGER. It has always existed. I love romance with a younger men, I prefer younger men myself. A lot of them are old souls and mature contrary to the stereotype.

This is one of the best drama for me. Many young men attracted to older women because older women are more matured comparing to younger ones. It is a trend today unlike the past. This drama is great, with many obstacles no doubt to overcome, but with their great love for each other that made everything possible. This drama is so much better comparing to Descendent of the Sun. The Main young actor was great so was the famous actress. If those who go crazy with the looks on actors and actress may not agree, but if those who liked the story will say it’s a beautiful and wonderful drama. Thanks to Production Companies: Studio Dragon, Bon Factory
    Director: Park Shin Woo
    Scriptwriter: Yoo Young A
