Does Lee Sang Woo play in this drama?
November 21st, 2012 at 8:07 pm
@GHSforever
honestly he is only special appearance but consider he will appear more than one episode we can consider him as the cast, so far i read Lee Sang Woo will appear from ep.4-8, he will play as the father of Eom Ji Won’s baby (she’s pregnant out of wedlock), maybe will appear again later
November 21st, 2012 at 8:09 pm
This drama story main focus is Eom Ji Won character (So Young) as single mother and how she faces her family and society with her status
November 22nd, 2012 at 2:41 pm
@something
Thanks for the fast answer:)
I am a big fan of Lee Sang Woo since A thousand days of promise.
Seele like he plays a not so nice character, because he left her with the baby alone.
November 29th, 2012 at 1:32 am
The 2nd son’s wife is a hateful person. She’s miserly with money as well as w affection.
The next hateful person is the 1st son’s daughter. She got pregnant out of wedlock, n when her family pitch in to help her out, she acts all arrogant, idiotic n completely ungrateful
Lee Sang Woo plays the guy who got her pregnant, but it seems like she was head over heels over him all by herself. Who can blame her for that? He asked her to get an abortion; she agreed; they broke up. He went on to marry a rich girl, who could afford to buy his parents a condo, n buy him an office. Lee Sang Woo only appears briefly when he does. It is more like an extended cameo, so far, up to ep 10.
I don’t dislike the actress who plays the doctor colleague to 1st son’s son. She was in Protect the Boss. But I dislike that char in this show. She is always drunk, n always hitting on her colleague. It’d be considered to be sexual harassment in US.
The 3rd son’s wife is an airhead. She says the most annoying things, yet she doesn’t do it to be mean.
Really the old couple, 1st son n wife, etc.
December 4th, 2012 at 7:30 pm
Don’t know what happened to the rest of the previous comment. Cont.
Really the old couple, 1st son n wife, etc. are the anchor of the family n of the show. As the eps progress, u get a real sense of their family dynamics, n the personalities of the individuals.
2nd son’s wife who is a bitter n miserly person becos of her impoverished childhood, makes life miserable for her husband, her son n his wife. It goes to show that 1 lousy person can ruin the family of a whole family.
The ratings of this show is going thru the roof! 5.9 for cable must be equivalent to 30-40 for regular channels.

A month ago, the rating was 5.9. Now it has passed 8, which is like 40+ for a network show. And I can see why. It is really a lovely family show.
With its 10 ep extension, we r getting more interesting developments n chars now, starting around ep 20:
Ep 22:
Surprise, surprise! After 25 years of trying n failing, 3rd son’s childish wife might be pregnant after all!
The baby of the 1st son’s family, the one who works in a cafe, has come to really care abt the lone student/waitress in the cafe. It wasn’t interesting at first, but now that the story spends more time on them, you understand them more. I love the girl when she refuses his proposal, saying that the difference in the stations in life makes her pathetic! Contrast that to the women in CDDA who scheme to marry money!
Also love the female dentist n her mother, n aunts. Just hilarious!
I can watch this show forever!
January 23rd, 2013 at 11:46 am
At ep 25, I can say that I’ve rarely seen a show for which the writing is so seriously great! It manages to make you cry and laugh, frown n smile at all that is happening to every char in the show.
Too bad it isn’t subbed becos there r no great names in it.
January 25th, 2013 at 12:16 am
Watching this show and I love it a lot. It’s the best Family and Week End Drama airing these days: AHYI, CA and Rascal Sons are no match. Really becoming a fan of the jtbc dramas: After Can We Get Married?, it’s another hit for them.
January 27th, 2013 at 9:58 pm
Of the all dramas airing rt now, this is the one that I look fwd to the most.
At first, I didn’t like the youngest son who works at a cafe n the girl who gets a part time job there. But they’ve become quite endearing. Now I’m invested in them enough to care abt how his family will react to her. Fr the Preview of ep 28, it looks like Grandfather will get to meet her, n will love her too. Maybe she can marry into the family real soon!
February 4th, 2013 at 11:53 am
I understand why the rating goes fr hi to hi. The writer really manages to make an engaging show out of a family story, with no illness, birth secrets, etc. She just makes u care abt what happens to each and every char.
In ep 28, Lee Sang Woo appears again. I hope he’ll stay w us a while, b4 going back overseas to cont. his studies.
February 18th, 2013 at 11:23 am
Ep 31, 32:
3rd son and his wife seem so sweet all along, and now it looks like they’ve undercurrents in their marriage. He is finding his v spoilt, selfish, airhead wife a drag, a burden. He goes out to a movie n dinner w a female client. She finds out, n is nagging n crying w/o end. Is their marriage hitting the rocks?
It’s funny to see grandfather n grandmother fighting, n grandma asking for a divorce. To appease her, Grandapa has to fork over a large sum fr his savings! Haha. Way to go, old lady!
February 23rd, 2013 at 11:46 pm
Amazing rating..
February 25th, 2013 at 9:05 pm
Ep 33-35:
Really dislike the elder daughter who was a judge, n now works as a lawyer. She is selfish, arrogant, ungrateful, inconsiderate, willful and down right mean. Now without consulting anyone, she decides to leave home w her baby, tho the grandparents n great grandparents will miss the baby! N tha baby will be deprived of an extended family caring for her.
Why is she leaving? Bcos she feels upset that her cousin’s pregnant wife gets a lot of attention, whereas her own pregnancy out of wedlock was considered a shame by her family in Korean society!

well, you know once in a blue moon you’ll chance upon a kdrama that will rule your whole waking hours…it used to be so once upon a time but ever since then, kdramas have been produced in great abundance without much attention being paid to quality n detail…
so, dun get discouraged by d very unappealing posters of this drama n think of giving this the slip…you will be greatly mistaken n live to regret it!
seriously, this drama got bypassed by me many times n by d time ive caught wind of it again, it was already at epi 33…however, d subs has just got in now n there’s no reason whatsoever to give this another miss!
d way d writer tells his story is by jumping right into d thick of action of such a large family…never once boring viewers with long winded intros of who is who n d role of each member…he simply takes his viewers n sweeps them up with his magical wand n you’ll be left breathless n wanting for more…never thinking of giving up or abandoning this super drama, not even once!
its script/dialogue is refreshing n witty n all characters are well casted n they play their individual roles well n professionally, thus making viewing this drama a real breeze!

Best writing I’ve encountered in a KD in a long time! Sure footed, intelligent, witty, warm….No big stars, but I just love it.
Ep 36 tonight was pre-empted by baseball game!
March 14th, 2013 at 4:04 am
@KDaddict just watch the first ep of this show the old man made me laugh with his nagging and denying that he does not nag, so far it looks pretty nice with the three brothers and their wife’s too ,
March 17th, 2013 at 10:43 pm
Such a lovely show. There r no bad guys. Just members of a family, getting along, living their lives. The overly proud, arrogant daughter lawyer is the only person I don’t like. As she said, it was her own pride that caused her to be a single mother. At first her dentist brother was also annoying, but once he finds the woman he loves, he settles in nicely into their relationship. The maknae, youngest son and his little 17 yr old gf are so cute. They add youth, vitality and cuteness to the show. It just ended tonight. All’s well that ends well.
@torri,
Enjoy the show. I certainly did. This is the show that I love the most since I Miss You.

Won’t be watching this one since Lee Sang Woo has a very minor role in it
October 4th, 2013 at 2:00 pm
It’s very good that all the families are close relationship with each other.
July 22nd, 2014 at 12:43 pm
This was such an outstanding drama, with a mature cast and wonderful storyline. It’s too bad that there isn’t an accurate English subtitle that really gives justice and understanding to the script. On the whole, it’s pretty deep with emotions and relationships, and the attempt at subtitles is so poor that you lose a great part of the meaning and interaction between family members. I really wish that the network would have provided a professional translation, especially when it got such outstanding ratings. Dramas like this one are few and far between.

I really love the dramas . Kind of wonder when the second season will air on dramafire.`
