Thanks all for your comments. Regardless of some of the negativeness, I personally like and enjoy the drama and the chemistry of the two leads. It’s so innocent pure and sweet love. To each it’s own.

So Ho is supposed to be mature smarter and a very successful businessman. Whereas Ha Ra is born rich and pamper but after losing her parents at a young age, she became penniless overnight and has to fence for herself. Imagine every month you need to think whether u have enough monies for living. She didn’t have a good education or friends (even her bf ditched her because she is poor, a orphan and not much education) and work in a travel agency as a “telephone operator”.

If u are Ha Ra, you want to grab the opportunity for a career advancement even now u have a rich husband as life is unpredictable. After suffering all the setback from a young age at 14, you want to take charge of your own life and future than depend on your rich husband all the time.

Ha Ra lacks confident and is young & innocent at heart and mind. Hence ssk acts the character well as some who has not much confident and think that So Ho is too good for her (Ha Ra dare not accept So Ho in the beginning).

I am looking forward to the drama every week and just hope the two leads have more air time together for the last two episodes and a happy ending.

SO THIS IS SAD LOVE STORY at all.

Even so hoo and he ra has mariage, they always sad in their mariage life because hera unhappy worrying she will be getting old when so hoo keep young, and so hoo afraid of be live alone abandoned by the one he loves. And yes, hera passed away first, then so hoo’s sadness keeps going until he dies.

-And Im dissapointed of this story –
What a waste time watching this drama huhu

BK Supporter @ 101, for someone to have been in HR’s position, you would expect a little more maturity. She was overly bubbly instead of someone who received the hard knocks from life. The ending of this drama sucked..then again the drama lost it’s way a long time ago.

    BK Supporter Says:

To each it’s own. Although I would expect a happy ending instead of both having some form regrets…however they still have some happy time together. Overall, I like the chemistry of the two leads. If not, ppl would not bother to watch the finale which has very high rating. Good job to all the casts.

    Simon K Says:

I am very disappointed at the ending. There are story lines that can do a better closure, like the bad guy and especially the two witches. Instead, this drama fork to a totally unnecessary direction that was not developed through the first 18 episodes, suddenly one of them become immortal for no good reason. I do like the Europe scenes in the last episode. For those who want to decide whether start watching, I recommend at least watch the first two episodes, treat it as a travel show, the scenery was beautiful, or drop it after 10 episodes, that is about right.

    tigerb Says:

so that’s how it ended. there was a curse, and hae ra could have undone it, not necessarily by parting as baek hee suggested. maybe if hae ra was also stabbed by the knife, maybe she would have become immortal too, after all it was a wedding ring for both of their previous lives. but the writer wanted it to end differently. with all the negative comments, sad ending is the last straw. should i recommend this series? please read the comments above and decide for yourself. ta, ta!

  9. 109
    Simon K Says:

I am not really disappointed because it is a sad ending, “Goblin” ending is also rather sad but I can accept that as the story plot go that direction. What I am really upset is the inconsistency in the writer. Sharon and Baek Hee got “punished” because they did bad things, the “punishment” is being immortal, stay young forever and even get super power (how can I sign up for that punishment?) At the end, when the “punishment” is ending, Sharon actually don’t want the “punishment” to end, so she should go and kill someone to keep her “punishment”? Soo Ho did nothing wrong but he received the exact same “punishment”, it make no sense at all. Whether immortal is a blessing or punishment, the writer need to make up her mind, she can’t have it both way in the same drama.

    DeeAn Says:

#109 Simon you’re right!! I agree with you.

obviously, writter nim has no idea how to develope story, so that why this drama become anti climax after episode 16, too much unnecessary scenes (hera cries alone after have lunch with so hoo), unnecessary dialogs (awkward dialog between hera and so hoo) unnecessary character who is keep popping up without no reason wkwk (such as: Hera’s ex boy friend, dunno why he keep appear, he even can not make so hoo jelous )

  11. 111
    DeeAn Says:

and I think, its too late to make so hoo immortal in ep 18 for no reason. For what? If so hoo has to be Immortal better from the first episodes so it can be a reason to protect hera from Mr, Park and to maintain his conflict about culture reservation which have to make him deal with Mr.Park Gangsters and also protect Hera from Sharon (so this title of this drama ‘Black Knight’ has correlation with the whole story.)

If they want to make sad ending, they should make sweet scene like ‘my love from the star’ when the lead star Do min Joo is the immortal alien too and cheon son yi is only a human who can grow old, but they made sweet scene when the two lead only do love life in their ending with no conflict about their difference life. And letting the audience perceive themselves how ending its. (ofcourse they cannot be together forever, but its up to audience decicions) it can be sad ending but we dont feel sad .

Otherwise In ending of black knight, Sadly, Hera having to take off her job for moving with so hoo to a small ville, she gave up her dream to be a career woman and traveling around the world. And She worried about the opinion of the ppl around her because her husband wasnot aging while she instead. Even,Hera trying to find out how so hoo can become normal again but failed, and she tried to leave so hoo because she didin’t want that marriage life. So hoo always afraid hera leave him. So even hera unhappy he keeps begging hera not to leave him. The worst is he decided not to have children with Hera. How can its happily ever after? This not happy marriage at all.

    BBB Says:

#109 Simon K./ #110&#111 DeeAn – agreed you all!! Well said as I thought the same way very disappointed how the end story lines were developed.

I love this drama and had been looking forward weekly to watch it. Music/ plots/ moods/characters/ beautiful scenes …etc… all pulled me to it weekly. Writer must lost mind unable to focus at the end. Good wishes versus curses. Punishment versus Reward. Sharon wasn’t punished, she only extended her evil power and even she continued her evil deed and killed BaeHee. She only got into quiet frames when SH burnt her no-good outfit to HeRa. What did SoHoo and HeRa did yo get the punishment in the previous life to get burnt to death and this life to spend together at the end yet feeling sad daily you will leave your love ones behind for sure. Writer Kim In Young, I hope you could mature better in your future drama to develop better stories instead. Please identify what message you want to convey first and stick on!

What did SoHoo and HeRa did to get the punishment in the previous life to get burnt to death and this life to spend together at the end yet feeling sad daily you will leave your love ones behind for sure. That was torturing in this life too. Sohoo looked so sad as somehow he will be indefinitely being punished and there is no breaking of his curse. He was cursed the moment evil crazy Sharon used that silver knife to stab him. Writer Kim In Young, I hope you could mature better in your future drama to develop better stories instead. Please identify what message you want to convey first and stick on! I love overall of this drama and just really not enjoy the end.

    Neno Says:

BK supporter @105 I totally agree with you. The chemistry between them was so natural and pure. I just loved them together. I hope they will work again together in the future. For me, it’s one of best chemistry I saw in Kdrama. And both leads did an amazing job playing their charecter.
My only problem was with the writer. I think he created most of the confusion. He made it clear that becoming an immortal was a punishment, yet he decides at episodes 18 to make moon soo an immortal. It just did not make sense to me. I think he would have been more successful had he decided to end it happily and leave this waive if sad/strange ending for supernatural Kdrama. They were both humans since the start in this drama and that was for me a main attraction to watch it. I usually don’t like it when the lead is supernatural and he falls in love with a human. It was never a really good ending for such kdramas. But here, all the elements for happy ending where there especially that both leads were humans until ep 18. I think the writer was the main problem here.

    silverswan Says:

The main actor was good but the story line is like a fairy tale. At the beginning, it was quite interesting but do not like the ending.
On the whole it is just an average drama for me

    Sweetpea Says:

BK @ 105, the fact that the ending, ENDING, had high ratings just proved that some people didn’t care for the drama but just wanted to see how it ended. The ending was stupid. We have Beak Hee and Sharon talking about how awful it was for them to have immortality, it was a punishment then we have Soo Ho receiving that same punishment. Also for me, this drama just had an air of sadness all around it…it was somewhat dreary.

  17. 117
    Sweetpea Says:

Neno @ 105, I’m glad you and BK a some others love the “chemistry” between the leads because I saw zero, oh they had nice scenes together, but there was no natural chemistry. There are scenes when they are sharing a booth together, but both of them are leaning away from each other; when they hugged each other, she wouldn’t let her face touch his–kept it at a distance, when they kissed (outside of the one that was award at best) it was pecks with them leaning in. This couple never really acted like an engaged, in love couple. They ended the drama the same way it began, when him appearing more of a care giver.

I guess each person see chemistry in their own way, but this couple had zero passion, no real desperation during trying times, just a boring, boring, boring relationship. It was stupid how they revolved their lives around Sharon.

For me, this drama was a disappointment.

  18. 118
    Neno Says:

Sweetpea a@ 117 people r different and see chemistry through their own experience. For me, I love the chemistry between both character. For example, when he said the world seafood and she was able to come up with a concept for her work, when she went to his room and slept next to him in his bed, when they cooked together, when looked at each other eyes and understood what they wanted to say, the way he proposed to her etc..
About the drama itself, I really loved the first half and thought it was going to be one of the best dramas I watched. It started with the meeting in Slovenia, then we started discovering something new each episode. They turned to be old friends/ lovers, then they turned to be the recarnation of thier older self of previous life, then we get to see what Sharon did to them ending by burning them alive for her to be punished like that, then we came to know why the older witch was punished and that’s because she actually switched he ra by Sharon at births. So, the main leads meant to actually be together in the first place. This story captivated me and made me wanting more. I simply loved the first half. After that, I think the writer struggled to keep up with the high bar she set in this drama and that disappointed me. But I cannot blame the actors for that, they work with the story. The writer should have made sure to keep up with the story she started. But after digging and knowing who she is. I’m not surprised. She set the bar high in other dramas and then just struggle to keep up. I personally think if the writer just kept captivating us as in the first part, this drama would have been great. She just could not. And as I said, I can’t belame the actors for that. I still think they were great together and hope to see them in further drama that is written well. This drama ended up being avarage to me because of the writer.
Personally, I think it’s the story that make or break a drama, like the lady writer who wrote several well known dramas (disandants of the sun, Goblen, heirs, secret garden) though, I did not like all these dramas, but the writer was the main reason for the success of the dramas and for lunching the careers for many actors or raising them up though not all of them are really good actors.

Hmmm…. The story started nicely, in the end…..

I like BBB.. Please can anyone tell me any of this writer’s drama, I need to be careful.

Are the stories not checked before coming out? Can the writer explain things to us: what is the meaning of the ending of the story? What was the reason for the lead actors punishment? Why were they lovers in the first place if things will be like that? How did they leave happily forever? Thank you.

    Eiren Says:

Really it is a sad ending.😢 it makes me long for another season, because it feels like Leaving me with what ifs. But i like the twist of the story. What more can we expect in a fantasy romance. It not just an ordinary love story. Theres nothing wrong with the ending . Soo ho’s immortality makes sense because of boon yi’s wish. Since sharon stab him with a knife made up of boon yi’s ring where her wished was engrave. It is only sad because of soo ho’s immortality, he will live alone waiting for his love. But its his choice. And thats life we have to make choices whatever the consequences it may bring.
