Synopsis
City Hall is a drama that will deal with politics in a romantic comedy genre. It’s about the happenings between a young woman mayor and an elite bureaucrat. Jo Gook is an exceedingly smart government official. He passed the Higher Civil Service quickly, and basically is the perfect guy. But being a deputy mayor is not enough for him. He lives with the dream of becoming South Korea’s President. He should have easily gone straight to the top, but due to an unexpected incident, he gets dispatched as a deputy mayor for a provincial small town, Inju City, where Shin Mi Rae was working. Shin Mi Rae is a low-ranking secretary in Inju, but she works her way up in becoming the youngest City Mayor. As their paths met, they have to deal with each other’s personal and social differences. But despite their constant bickerings, would they end up in each other’s arms?

@Norev27. Thank you! That is an excellent observation! On that particular blog, the highlighted recaps are from generalized drama scenes. On this forum, its City Hall specific which equals more familiarity…therefore seems freer! I am presently working on highlights of a specific drama now, and (I see) the content is funnier! Just my thoughts on why the kissing scenes here are like no other in kdramaland. The reason, I think, is Kim Sun Ah. In almost all other kissing scenes, the couples usually lock lips. Most of the time, I think they just fear Korean censorship. But sometimes I think it’s because the actress is not daring enough or cooperative enough. Kim Sun Ah responds to kisses well.
She reciprocates, unlike a lot of other actresses where they just purse their lips. So, I don’t think it’s the men/actors doing when it comes to hot kisses. Which straight man don’t enjoy kissing? It takes two you know.

I’ve got my copy from a DVD store in Malaysia @ S$32. The quality and translation is superb- the content is much fuller with the accurate translations and Taiwanese Chinese dubbing. I still prefer the original Korean exchanges with English subs. =D True satisfaction.
The previous version I was watching has serious translation errors for English subs and I had to resort to reading Chinese.
Just to share the sheer silliness of it all. This gives you an idea of how bad. The scene where MR caught JG ‘expressing’ his feelings for her in front of her friends @ the fried chicken eatery to garner their support for his Campaign. Riding on the opportunity, MR totally tormented JG by launching into a full-fledged lovey-dovey coy act- insisting JG buy her “BREAD”?!! Well, it’s “BAG”. Now the world makes sense again!

I, along with other fans of City Hall are obsessed in a good way…with its quality! I can’t recall too many dramas that I look forward to rewatching, like this one! Each time is refreshing, never boring, and I still see situations or antics I didn’t see before…amazing!

Indeed CityHall Drama gives me another leg of drama joy after I have completed, I did yearn to re-watch CityHall unlike many dramas I have watched and that’s it, keep that drama away and let’s go back to CityHall.
Now after more than a year I come back because CityHall has been a drama special, I like the few kiss scenes because both the main actors participated and did a good giveaway to their audiences and fans, I must say as compared to other dramas that normally shy away, just with a force lip-kiss, that’s sickening of storyline this form!.
CityHall embraces a different approach to win every battle in displaying the right epitome of each happy and dramatic scenes and spot-on we can only ask for more of CityHall delights, yet that’s no signal of another drama that I have watched after CityHall that have yet to match this standard like CityHall drama here to stay.
Furthermore CityHallers does belong to this special core group as one and only drama fans to fit CityHall on their chart of Korean dramas that surpass all other Korean dramas this far.
Always CityHall here we attest!! …a calling to all!!

Hmm..there’s scenes of the show where I really feel “men just don’t get it”. That’s when I launched into a live commentator mode. Haha..
I’ve got an original DVD box of CH- quality & dubbing/subtitles is superb. I’m enjoying the accurate translations so much MORE!

No matter how many k-dramas I’ve seen…prior to City Hall and even to date…none can equal it, at least to me! Regardless, of how good and exhilarating they are…whether historically true or fantastic fiction, something’s missing! They seem to not satisfy me. I couln’t figure it out until now…there’s too many extremes and not the right balance. I will admit, there have been a few exceptions that came close, but not quite equal to it. Still….it’s City Hall for me! Well, soon to have another rewatch fest!
