I like it ….kim Raewon is good here…..
I like the storyline…its makes you full in the stomach with all those equally delicious dishes….hahha
I wish it could have been more wide on the concept not just about the restaurant but also his (kim raewon) journey to diffrent cooking masters so it will give excitement and more realistic, like he said ‘theres a lot of masters around the world’ ,,,like in the ending….but still good good….

I’ve watched four episodes so far. Good stuff in general. Although it’s hard to suffer through all the mock seriousness (“the kitchen is a battlefield, we fight with steel and fire”) and contradictory philosophizing (see below) on the way to getting a couple of chefs laid with “traditional girl” and “kooky modern girl.”
Korean Chef Philosophy 101
“This contest is about creativity!”
15 minutes later
“This contest is not about creativity, it is about the chef’s sincerity.”
Whatevs … lol …

This was the first Korean drama I’ve watched, and I couldn’t have chosen a better specimen. The plot is a brilliant is a love story, wrapped in a coming of age tale (for several characters) and settled on a study on modern Korea’s place in the international community. There is a palpable sense that Koreans and Korea (as a nation) is try to find the balance between modernization, industrialization, internationalization and the sanctity of it’s history and culture.
To this point, I think Bong Joo represents the push towards modernization, the father represents an appeal to the past, Min Woo represents the mistakes made in the new Korea and Sung Chan represents a measured, thoughtful and promising modern Korea.
Be warned, the last few episodes pull you through the ringer emotionally, but it is very, very worth it.

Recently it repeat telecast of this drama on my television. I thought of wanting to skip it as the first episode was a bit boring at first. However, the background music, the awesome actor and actresses makes it more anxious wanting to carry on and the plot is wonderful. It makes you wanting to look for more.
Some episode makes it relax and some makes it erupt with emotional.
The relationship is what makes me so sad. I remember when Sung Chan telling his father that he is tired of competing. That makes me cried so much.
The episode when Sung Chan met his father at his house, the emotional runs through me. I didnt know i can cried so much because of this drama. The background music is so amazing. The slow rhythm can be so powerful.
I believe those that watch this with hearts will appreciate what a good drama this is. Amazing! I only watched till episode 13. Will keep watching. I’m afraid of emotional breakdown soon. xD

Gourmet is currently being aired here in Philippines by a local television channel and it’s dubbed to Filipino. Since I have work at night, I’m unable to watch the series. Good thing, there is an online streaming site that caters Korean series and Movies. I’m so impressed on how this series was created! I often find myself hungry while watching it. The sudden twist and turns of the story is really amazing. When I saw the commercial clips about this series before I taught it was too boring to watch since it involves cooking that I’m not found out doing ever. But it was a good series and I’m wondering what will happen to Sung Chan in the ending. Hope to finish this soon…
