Synopsis
Cha Sang-doo (Bi) and Chae Eun-hwan (Gong Hyo Jin) grew up as the best of friends. One day, Eun-hwan’s family goes bankrupt and debtors rushed to collect their belongings. When her father’s old record player was being taken, Sang-doo goes after the guy, accidently killing him. After being released from prison, he finds that his family and Eun-hwan have left him. Years later, he becomes a gigolo (with his uncle) to pay off his sick daughter’s hospital bills. He eventually meets his long-lost first-love, Eun-hwan as a high school math teacher. In an effort to regain her love, he returns as a high school student in her class. As everything seems to be going smoothly, circumstances prevent them from staying together.

I enjoyed the drama so much. Love the acting of RAIN & GONG HYO JIN, good chemistry. LEE DONG GUN’s character as Kang Min Suk was great, he touched many woman’s heart. The drama made you laugh & cry. Very heartwarming drama, worth to watch.

i love this drama! eun hwan and sang doo ended up with a baby!!! they’re not dead!! lee dong gun & rain bi.. they are the best rivals for the heart or song hye kyo.. hehehehe i have a nice tandem!!! good job rain! nice one lee dong gun!!

Please tell me what happens at the end? do they die or live happily ever after. I bought the dvd but subtitles were terrible since I don’t understand Korean it was hard to fathom at the end…. do they imagine the happy end? or it really does happen?

ok drama…not on my fav list…don’t like the constent flash bks or cast much but story ok…the ending was a cliff hanger…but good happy ending they live & 2gether & shes pregnant yay

From what I think, I didn’t like this movie. Because it’s sad. LOL, but I’m serious though, I hate crying….I just think that this drama kind of dragged….

This was such a an emotional, yet sometimes funny drama. Rain almost flawless portraying Sang Doo; he really drew me in to his character. I was completely absorbed in his scenes and especially scenes with his daughter and Eun-hwan as played by Gong Hyo Jin. The supporting cast was also fantastic. Excellent writing and direction. I highly recommend this drama.

i saw this drama ages ago but i can still remember rain’s acting was excellent here; this being his debut drama n all….he was able to make u laugh n cry along with him as his character was too pitiful n sad. he was saddled with a sick child who was not even his (without his knowledge) n he had to work as a gigolo to support her hospital bills.
when he met up with his first luv, eun-hwan, we were taken back to when they were schoolmates in luv, n how an unfortunate incident left him institutionalized at a reform school for juveniles; n how he got dumped by his adoptive parents n got separated fr eun-hwan. the flashbacks were too sad n heartbreaking to bear n this was also where tears flowed freely n uncontrollably for all audiences.
all in all, a very good effort by rain….super story n solid casts make this drama an endearing one….

Don’t think Gong Hyo job is pretty enough to be in any roles. Why does she keep getting picked. Didn’t like her in Pasta, the Greatest love and now this? As a love interest for Bi Rain? Why her?
