Synopsis
Choi Jung Soo (Shin Don Wook) was left in an orphnage by his father who could no longer take care of him after his wife left him for another man. He had a bright future in medicine but could ill afford the tuition fee. In despair, he took off to the remote island where his father grew up in the hope that he would find him there. He ended up spending 7 years there working under the guidance of the island’s only doctor and became very good at it. But when he saved Yoon Jung Won (Han Ji Hye) who suffered from an acute appendicitis, he became mistaken as a skillful doctor and his life became complicated. YJW was the daughter of the owner of an elite hospital in Seoul and the two began to develope feelings for each other even though she was engaged to be married. He couldn’t help falling in love with YJW and began to lie to himself and others about his medical credentials. The higher he rose, the harder he fell. The love that he thought would give him everything turned into poison. He lost his world … except the love of his woman who stood by him no matter what.

i love this drama & it’s one of my favorites! Shin Dong Wook is so great in this drama that if he didn’t win the best actor award that’s not fair! he was so good in his acting & i loved the chemistry between him & Han Ji! I hope they team up again next time! Shin dong ssi you’re so cute & handsome – i hope you do more dramas please! you’re great! you’re my number one Korean actor! sarang

many conflicts in the story, but in the end, good works prevail. i like the drama. shin dong-wook very good (actingwise) – for me, SOULMATES (drama) is the best.

i just re-watched this beautiful drama maybe 3rd time now on dvd & still not tired of it! shin dong wook was great in this drama as well as han ji hye, grt chemistry too bad they’re not doing another team up these days! i highly recommend this & unfortunately it’s under-rated at the time it was airing, i gathered it was same time showing with jumong? i guess i heard someone said that! anyway, it’s a happy ending & if u hvnt seen this one, you’re missing something! one of the best kdramas i’ved seen!
