As I watched this drama, by episode #7 I became aware that many of the court protocols are ignored. The royals do not generally bicker in front of servants, it’s not the done thing.
The general feeling of the drama, is that it is trying too hard. It doesn’t know how to build tension and relieve with comic scenes. Therefore it had failed to garner empathy for its characters.
Too much screen time was used up by the King’s nutjob brother. To what end I’m left to wonder.
On the upside, No Young Hak as the young Kim Yoo Sin was a joy to watch.
