Synopsis
The drama is based on famous folklore.
A nobleman named Kim Eun Oh (Lee Joon Ki) comes to town searching for his mother after hearing a rumor that she is staying at the village of Miryang. He has the special ability to see spirits, but pretends he doesn’t because he gets annoyed when spirits come up to him asking for a favor.
Arang (Shin Min Ah) has lost all her memories when she became a ghost and is unable to rest in peace until she finds out how she ended up dead. However, after appearing to three magistrates, none of them survive the fright of seeing her. When she finds out that Eun oh is able to see her, she begs for his help.
At first, Eun Oh rejects her request. However he changes his mind after seeing that Arang is somehow in possession of the hairpin that he gave his mother at their last meeting. He believes that if he helps her, Arang will regain her memories and give him information about his mother. He exasperatedly (then affectionately) nicknames her “Amnesia” and as the town’s newly installed magistrate, he teams up with her to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death, which may involve the mysterious nobleman Joo Wal (Yun Woo Jin) and have supernatural ramifications.
As Eun Oh and Arang gradually unravel the mystery behind her death, they find out the events that have been set in motion have been a trap of the Jade Emperor, in his attempt to capture a rogue Fairy of Heaven who feeds on human souls. The gods cannot touch her as long as she is in a human body. Arang and Eun Oh’s participation in the events is crucial because this Fairy also happens to be the sister of Moo Young, the Grim Reaper of Hades, who cannot forget the love he once bore for his sister and is unable to bring her to justice. It is later revealed that the Jade Emperor saved Eun Oh as a child from a deadly sickness, resulting in his ability to see spirits. He also set Arang free from the bonds of the Grim Reaper after her death, thereby making her a spirit who roams the earth. In this game of supernatural stakes, Arang and Eun Oh who fall in love gradually have to pay the price because Arang has only three full moons in which to solve the mystery of her death and defeat their enemy…(Source)

The 10-minute trailer was amazing, and made me super excited for this drama. Is anyone else in love with the music they are using in this drama? It really accentuate/compliment the mood of the scenes and of the drama overall. And how beautiful was that Garden of Eden they’ve created for the Heavenly King. I love how otherworldly it looks. Simply breathtaking…

Yeah love the music too….but a bit disappointed that the female ghost doesnt look scary at all…too fresh….she looks happy not as the ghost who hold grudge and look for justice….well kinda early to tell how its gonna be…will wait and see more of it.

Nice to meet you~ I’m a huge fan of “A&M”!! Fall in love with all the superb drama elements and great acts, and eagerly waiting to watch it^^
Btw, I can’t stop laughing when reading your arguments with a lmh fan. I’m very agree with your opinions. Also can’t understand why both his fans and the media are advertising and lying themselves that he’s very good at acting. They should only describe him as a very good-looking actor since I also can’t find his improvement in acting, and very lacking till now. He doesn’t have great thoughts in choosing his characters to show his acting improvements. As I’m also a viewer finding the nice storyline with great acts, he can’t capture me to watch his dramas and only ended watching after 2 or 3 episodes.
As for me, my most reliable Korean actor is indeed, Lee Joon-gi!! Have you been watched his previous works like “King & the Clown”, “Time between dog & wolf”, “Iljimae”, etc.? I think you also have good judgements in acting skills and stories of dramas so I bet you can also agree LJG as a very great actor! He’s so impressive for me as he’s super-talented in choosing the right & new characters and interesting stories which can show his improvements. He’s just a very hardworking actor with great thoughts~
I’m so happy with him now that he can choose “A&M” as his comeback vehicle after the military service. His fandom is too strong & everlasting just because he can give us many precious works and warm attitudes. Wishing the best for “Arang & the Magistrate”, all cast, staff, and the production team^^

Don’t worry sis. Just watching this trailer, can tell all actors in this drama will be able to fit their roles. It’s a fantasy drama and not the horror. In character descriptions, the ghost girl lost her memories so she only wants to know why she died and doesn’t have a revengeful like mind. That’s why she looks fresh. Don’t miss this one sis! It’s a must watch drama including the famous leading couple with fabulous acts and a very interesting newest storyline in k-dramas^^

Wow I thought it was only me who noticed about LMH’s acting…He was my idol before when I watched him in Personal Taste but after I bought the dvd Iljimae I was totally hooked up with the acting skills of Lee Jun Ki…he was the first korean actor that truly moved me…his facial expressions can act especially his eyes?My god,I was totally smitten…I’m not into the looks of any actors I’m into the acting of the actors the looks is just a major bonus!
As for lee min ho,he’s not that great enuf to be called a great actor…I admit he’s so gorgeous but when it comes to acting?he just okay…You know when theres a scene about him crying my God I’m not convinced he cant moved me he’s better be off acting like a brat rich kid with that it wud suit him..esp with a cool get up and so on he’s good in that coz most his dramas he always wears great stuff.In city Hunter he doesn’t impressed me at all,it was his looks that made City Hunter boom,his cool outfit surely rock bigtime to the viewers who swoon over goodlooking guys:) but acting wise?he’s just ok but not really that great sometime hes too stiff, no emotion at all esp.when the scene is sad!In my point of view jang Geun Suk is too way better than lee min ho when it comes to acting…I’m not an avid fan of JGS but I must say he can truly act.

After i watch trailer i have some description about this drama line story first magistratre who has been sent to one village can see ghost one of the ghost is arang.
two arang is killed by somebody and her dead body had been found on the water teritory may be at the lake after dead arang get chase by some like angel of death and by of that her meet magistrate. Magistrate who can see ghost of course can see that accident who engage arang and by some angel of death. arang who next later that’s magistrate can see her approached that magistrate to disturb that’s magistrate and make him to vengeance her death.
after that magistrate may be fall in love arang and arang supposed to be after their closed for many days. first Q how the end of drama how some ghost like arang can be live again after died.If arang where is supposed to be appear on the house of her life, or after her life after her death.Second maybe the end like some fairy tail i have had read on the past the the death can live by some of kind God to live.The living person have to deep love by the dead and suffer.that’s final Q will arang and magistrate can be live and end this drama happy ending or ???

It’s the same with how can two people be together when they live in a different world?like the other one lives in the historical era and the other one in the modern time?is it possible to happen?but the writer make it possible to happen.So perhaps that’s what going to happen with Arang as well…maybe the grim reaper will spare her life and so the heavenly king because Arang and Magistrate truly love each other and their love will make Arang live again as simple as that:) …tho for me it sounds so creepy but I kinda like the storyline of Arang coz it offers a new plot in KDramas…I think this one is not boring at all knowing the lead actors can portray their role well as what I’ve seen in their previous dramas they can act pretty well:)I surely purchase a dvd copy of this drama since I have bought all the dramas of Lee Jun Ki:)Fighting!

Or maybe there’s another person that Looks exactly like Arang?the ghost will eventually go inside in that body just to be with the Magistrate?LOL…just like what happen in BIG Kyun Joong and Da Ran eventually lives happily ever after!Oh..,I’m so excited to watch the twist of the story:)My God I want this drama to be a happy ending not a sad one…but even if this drama have a bad ending I’m still going to buy a dvd:)
