Synopsis
The drama is based on famous folklore.
A nobleman named Kim Eun Oh (Lee Joon Ki) comes to town searching for his mother after hearing a rumor that she is staying at the village of Miryang. He has the special ability to see spirits, but pretends he doesn’t because he gets annoyed when spirits come up to him asking for a favor.
Arang (Shin Min Ah) has lost all her memories when she became a ghost and is unable to rest in peace until she finds out how she ended up dead. However, after appearing to three magistrates, none of them survive the fright of seeing her. When she finds out that Eun oh is able to see her, she begs for his help.
At first, Eun Oh rejects her request. However he changes his mind after seeing that Arang is somehow in possession of the hairpin that he gave his mother at their last meeting. He believes that if he helps her, Arang will regain her memories and give him information about his mother. He exasperatedly (then affectionately) nicknames her “Amnesia” and as the town’s newly installed magistrate, he teams up with her to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death, which may involve the mysterious nobleman Joo Wal (Yun Woo Jin) and have supernatural ramifications.
As Eun Oh and Arang gradually unravel the mystery behind her death, they find out the events that have been set in motion have been a trap of the Jade Emperor, in his attempt to capture a rogue Fairy of Heaven who feeds on human souls. The gods cannot touch her as long as she is in a human body. Arang and Eun Oh’s participation in the events is crucial because this Fairy also happens to be the sister of Moo Young, the Grim Reaper of Hades, who cannot forget the love he once bore for his sister and is unable to bring her to justice. It is later revealed that the Jade Emperor saved Eun Oh as a child from a deadly sickness, resulting in his ability to see spirits. He also set Arang free from the bonds of the Grim Reaper after her death, thereby making her a spirit who roams the earth. In this game of supernatural stakes, Arang and Eun Oh who fall in love gradually have to pay the price because Arang has only three full moons in which to solve the mystery of her death and defeat their enemy…(Source)

@KDaddict young master choi is giving me the creeps but his eyes are not expressive enough to freak me out. Ocassionally they look sly sometimes a hint of something sinister. I thought he could be the first murder suspect but then he seems to be searching for arang so that rules him out.

As for Arang and the Magistrate since it’s historical drama for sure GMA will have it:) GMA is the home for sageuk dramas:)Mostly kdramas na historical usually sa GMA ipalabas.Just like Moon Embracing The Sun is currently airing in GMA right now the pilot airing was last August 13:)Guess only Sungkyunkwan was aired in ABS-CBN…

Hello mga kabayan!….Di ko pa inumpisahang panoorin ang Arang kasi I’m saving it for my weekend viewing pleasure…hehehe….just by reading the comments here,mukhang maganda….about Hana Kimi naman,to me the Japanese version is better than the Taiwanese version,at yung 2 episodes ng Korean version naman is so far so good ( the casts are all eye candies!)

I watched TMETS, and I loved it! THAT started me watching sageuk dramas…I still have to finish Dongyi though…and I ‘m pretty sure Arang is gonna be one of my favorites…I Love SMA in Gumiho and I’ve been eying on LJK for quite sometime now ‘coz of Iljemae….

Likewise,I’ve been eying him since I’ve watched him in Iljimae:)I was totally hooked up with his acting skill.His versatility as an actor just so amazing that’s why I collected all his dramas:) watched his movies like Fly daddy fly,Virgin Snow and The King and The Clown:)But definitely, I’ve fallen inlove with him in Time Between Dog and Wold series of 2007:)if you haven’t watch it yet then try watchin’ it!

Don’t rule him out so fast. He could be looking for her cos he wasn’t altogether aware that he killed her, u know kinda like sb under the influence of drugs n alcohol committing a crime in a trance. He is just not expressive. That’s why I wish Master Choi was played by sb else.

yes i was wondering about that 2 kung bakit nila inulit yung city hunter eh ang dami nila naka-line up na KDramas…nawalan na rin me ng interest sa filipino dubbed na KDramas mula nung na-enjoy ko yung mga english sub. saka may mga scenes kc na hindi kumpleto pag naka dubbed na…kaya tuloy minsan parang may hindi ka makuha na eksena. ska masnakakatawa yung mga jokes pag hindi naka-dubbed…i wont be leaving comments for a while ha kc medjo na-soplak me sa Faith nung isang nagcomment…grabe ang talino ng critisism niya saka sino ba naman nga ako para i-defend si Lee Min Ho eh hindi naman ako kasing addict at intelligent nila, at di ko pa yun pinapanood,hehehe! nagsori tuloy me,hehehe!
