Synopsis
The drama is based on famous folklore.
A nobleman named Kim Eun Oh (Lee Joon Ki) comes to town searching for his mother after hearing a rumor that she is staying at the village of Miryang. He has the special ability to see spirits, but pretends he doesn’t because he gets annoyed when spirits come up to him asking for a favor.
Arang (Shin Min Ah) has lost all her memories when she became a ghost and is unable to rest in peace until she finds out how she ended up dead. However, after appearing to three magistrates, none of them survive the fright of seeing her. When she finds out that Eun oh is able to see her, she begs for his help.
At first, Eun Oh rejects her request. However he changes his mind after seeing that Arang is somehow in possession of the hairpin that he gave his mother at their last meeting. He believes that if he helps her, Arang will regain her memories and give him information about his mother. He exasperatedly (then affectionately) nicknames her “Amnesia” and as the town’s newly installed magistrate, he teams up with her to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death, which may involve the mysterious nobleman Joo Wal (Yun Woo Jin) and have supernatural ramifications.
As Eun Oh and Arang gradually unravel the mystery behind her death, they find out the events that have been set in motion have been a trap of the Jade Emperor, in his attempt to capture a rogue Fairy of Heaven who feeds on human souls. The gods cannot touch her as long as she is in a human body. Arang and Eun Oh’s participation in the events is crucial because this Fairy also happens to be the sister of Moo Young, the Grim Reaper of Hades, who cannot forget the love he once bore for his sister and is unable to bring her to justice. It is later revealed that the Jade Emperor saved Eun Oh as a child from a deadly sickness, resulting in his ability to see spirits. He also set Arang free from the bonds of the Grim Reaper after her death, thereby making her a spirit who roams the earth. In this game of supernatural stakes, Arang and Eun Oh who fall in love gradually have to pay the price because Arang has only three full moons in which to solve the mystery of her death and defeat their enemy…(Source)

this story more unpredictable and you know many question to answer so we have watch every episode to find answer that question. This story have many question just like Rooftop price hope is not end like that to.
but maybe arang killed by some one how hate her father. maybe arang dad’s have had enemy and the enemy killed arang and maybe the entire family of arang. Or we just see like a twins of arang body but that’s impossible.
why arang seems different than other ghost who liked a dead body pale and who look ugly. May be she don’t die may be she just lost and the dead body is not him but her twin hahaha that to positive. or maybe arang just lost her remember about her died and thinking she was live.
or maybe she like roam ghost and and she think about revenge her death. and she escaped by red rope by grim reaper.
and at the third preview i see arang go by ship to enter world after live. that story i have read in many story if you dead you will ride a boat to enter world another live yes this story i have read and watch on TV belief by romawi citizens before century
i predicted more episode more question may be that question can be answer may be on the last-last episode or on the middle episode

Ty for such wonderful explaination…so what makes Arang so special as a ghost?maybe its ‘ Fate ‘that at the end she’s bound to be with Eun Oh:) *fingers crossed* coz I still want a happy ending!pfffft
Arang as a ghost is quit different among the other ghosts…maybe bcoz when she was still alive she was a nice girl:) I remember those 3 stupids guys said that Arang is quite a shy girl and no one ever see her face?she seem so mysterious

I loved it. It is the combination of favorable factors. A very cute and pretty heroin with a mysterious past + a very brave, handsome, humorous, cold but gentle and emotional hero who doesn’t care a bit about ghosts + an in love handsome, hurting anti-hero + mysterious story line with magical stuff and a very pretty god that makes rain happen just by watering the heaven flowers. Add to it the actors’ great acting.

I have just finished episode one and although there are some parts of the drama that i dont understand, it is so nice to watch. The great screenplay and the story plot is amazing! There are so many things to talk about. The heaven, the ghost, the human world. There is an expand to all the story. This is really a good drama as it is funny in some parts yet meaningful to find their past and loves one.
I’m so excited since some of the people i knew tell me to watch this drama and with complicated storyline which i hate understanding, this drama brings me in so easily even though i hate complicated story drama. Ha!
The rating will get higher if the people spread around in korea. I agree with some that arang looks so different compare to other ghost who are so pale in comparison. This is a part where it will reveal and get us excited. I can’t wait to see both of the main characters falling in love. They had that chemistry in them ^^

i have the same observation about Arang’s apperance, she’s not that pale (ghost white)…but if she’s wondering for 3 years and she doesn’t have the same feature of the other ghost, maybe shes’ not really dead (we’re getting our hopes up again), maybe she really is just in a coma and eun oh’s mother is taking care of her that’s why she has the pin. ahh so many questions…but in the preview they showed Arang’s body (is it really hers?) and why does the giseang (the one i think is the leader) looked like eun oh’s mother?is it her?
is it wednesday already? hahaha!

Yes maybe she’s not totally dead thats why she looks quite diff from the other ghosts and ‘maybe’ she’s in coma thats why her soul keeps wandering for 3 years…it reminds me of 49days:) the funny thing is,shes a ghost with a amnesia hahaha and yes hope its already Wednesday….can’t wait for ep3! Sa kimchi very fast magload di magbuffering:)

I cant remember the last time I was wowed at ep 1 of a drama. I love every minute of ep 1. I enjoyed the comedy so much and i know it will be replaced by more melos later. Very interesting comedy spins to ghostly stuff.

I don’t think there r werewolves in Korean folktales, but they can make him a nasty male Variant of the gumiho or sth. Hee.

Yes,magkapatid ata sina JoO Wal at Eun Oh:)grabeh ka exciting na drama ang Arang:) sa ep2 super tawa ko.. ung the time Eun Oh was about to measure the chest part haha but Arang choose to do it…and even whispered it to Bang Wool her size 33 weh:) grabeh may pagka praning din c Bang Wool sinabi pa talaga eh,whisper na nga ni Arang:)Eun Oh scoff upon hearing the size sobrang LOL talaga!at that time may love na nadevelop:)I Love A&M!

about naman sa to the beautiful you…well i’m hoping iba ang ending nun kc yung sa hana kimi parang hindi elaborated kc alam naman pala nung guy na girl siya pero…basta parang bitin yung ending ng taiwanese version…i haven’t seen the japanese version of that.

if arang is not dead but her soul comes out of her body to play around then it is so like a thai drama that i’ve before. i cried alot for that drama because the main guy couldn’t touch the girl nor can he help the girl when she’s in danger. oh too much about that drama soorrry. hope i have time for arang and that amistrator

me too…this my 1st time watching a drama that’s just being aired in korea…i like watching dramas in one sitting…but ever since we transfered here in bicol the cd’s are not updated unlike in manila. and this is my first drama that i actually participated in the chat forums. i’m actually enjoying reading and sharing/commenting with all of you here coz i don’t have anyone here to share my addiction,hehehe!

It’s my pleasure Ance:) Actually when I first saw that ur from PI,I was like Oh! this is good I have someone from my country whom we shared the same addiction hahah actually filipinos are totally addicted with kdramas..that’s why our 2 major networks bought the copyrights mostly of the blockbuster hits kdramas:)Which only means that we filipinos adored their dramas so much:) Just recently Donghae and Choi Siwon was here in Philippines and soon Lee Min ho will be here as well as the new endorser of Bench Philippines!kdramas rocks bigtime! you’re right about our 2 major networks (ABS-CBN & GMA). nag-uunahan pa kamo kung ano yung mga hit na dramas. i haven’t seen GMA’s drama list for 2012 but i saw ABS-CBN’s last January…they also showed Sungkyunkwan Scandal (i forgot the Phil. Title,something with “secret”) & Love Rain, i forgot about the others when i saw Love Rain eh…JKS addict din me aside from LHM,hehehe! when will A&M be shown in our country? Gumiho was a hit here so maybe another Shin Min Ah drama will also be a hit…
