throughout the series – dong yi & her son is said to be not acceptable because she is of commoner origin.. while Jang Hee Bin and her son – the crown prince – is acceptable, isnt this inconsistent, because actually Jang Hee Bin is also of a commoner origin..? is this the true story back then or just a made up story for filming/commercial purposes..?

I highly recommend this drama.
I felt as though a part of me was missing when the drama ended .
However, i didn’t exactly liked the ending ( most likely because the story line was just too good and that there would always be flaws in any ending , depending on how the person judged it).
My preferable ending : The King moves out of the palace and lives with Dong Yi . Furthermore, he along with Dong Yi helps serve justice together like how the did when they first met.
Anyway my most memorable moment was when Dong Yi stepped on the King’s back LOL.
Anyways, I highly recomend this drama for it was very very very good

I’ve just finished watching Dong Yi in DVD with the English subtiles as I am not a Korean. I was disappointed at the last 2 episodes as the English subtitles seemed not right. I could not follow it with the story line. Whoever dubbed this must not be the same company/person who did the first 58 episodes. But I still enjoyed watching it as a whole. Good performances by the entire cast.

I, too, have just finished watching DONG YI in DVD with the English subtitles and I have the same feelings as Puruka. This is an excellent drama series but the last 2 episodes was like an anti-climax for me as the English subtitles make no sense! Fortunately, I know a bit of the Chinese language and re-watched the last 2 episodes with Chinese subtitles and the Chinese audio. However, I enjoyed the drama as a whole, as not only the storyline is fantastic, but the production and the performance of the main characters are really excellent, especially Ji Jin Hee, the king.

I agree with the viewers comment regarding the sub title especially the 2 last episodes…i got lost and rattled….though it is a very good kdrama… it moves me from the beginning up to the end it shows how much the king loves dong yi…..

Watching this drama, is like reading a book that you can’t put down until the last page turned that reads “the end”…and I’m still on episode 39, so more to go, but i love this drama…time is not wasted watching this k-drama

I bought a new set of DVDs on Dong Yi, the Malaysian version after watching the previous set a friend loaned me (which had the last 2 episodes badly translated into English). The Malaysian version has very good English subtitles till the very end. I watched many of the episodes again and I am still just as touched by it as the previous viewing.

A great show but should have been fantastic, if the show will prolong a bit more of the King Sook-jong & sukbin (Dong Yi) being together towards their ripe age….
Nevertheless I love the show and being watching it for 6th time (lol)
