Synopsis
This drama is set in modern day where South Korea is governed by a constitutional monarchy. Lee Jae Ha (Lee Seung Ki) is a handsome and materialistic crown prince that doesn’t care about politics. He falls in love with Kim Hyang Ah (Ha Ji Won), a North Korean special forces agent.

the truth is i’m not really a fan of LSG & HJW, that’s why i was really heistant to watch this drama. but my friends said that i was a really great drama, and that it is also worthy to compete for 2012 drama of the year, so i checked it out. i fell in love with the whole cast…well of course not the villain…john mayer/kim bong gu should have died! hehehe! i’m still affected…i’m still crying over eun shi kyung’s death… :’(
i was somehow unintentionally looking at the modern characters in some of the sageuk’s characters. i was comparing the common characters in this drama and if this was a saguek. it was really fun…
-of course in sagueks there’s a King/Prince – Lee Jae Ha
-there’s a Princess or sometimes a commoner or the enemy of the kingdom – Kim Hang Ah
-in sagueks there’s a loyal friend that always becomes the right hand of the king and sometime dies, protecting the King – Eun Shi Kyung
-there’s a Princess/sister that falls in love with the friend/guard – Lee Jae Shin
-there are also the other comrades that are enemies at first but becomes loyal allies…
-there are devoted and loving parents
-and of course that hateful villain that sometimes controls everything…too bad this is set in a modern setting, if this was a saguek, Kim Bong Gu would have died a painful death… >:(
All in all I was really happy that I’ve watched this drama…now I understand why they said that it has a chance for best drama, coz at first i only thought that it’s because it’s LSG & HJW and my mind was set that A Gentleman’s Dignity has a great chance…but now I’m really torn between The King 2 Hearts and A Gentleman’s Dignity for modern drama.
