Synopsis
This drama is based of ‘The Romance of the Three Kingdoms‘ in set dark world of Salaryman workers.
This drama depicts the trial and tribulations of the average salaryman, from humble beginnings to success. This drama portray the salaryman’s loneliness and isolation, struggles, sorrows, hopes and successes in a realistic light.
One night Yoo Bang (Lee Bum Soo) enters a dark, mysterious villa with nothing but a flashlight, only to find an executive of the Chunha Medical Group, Ho Hae slouched in a chair, dead and Jin Ho Hae’s niece, Yeo Chi (Jung Ryu Won) hiding behind a curtain. At Ho Hae’s funeral, Yoo Bang and Yeo Chi are suddenly taken into custody for his murder. We’re taken three months into the past to reveal what led to this murder and exactly who was responsible. During this flashback we meet Choi Hang Woo (Jung Gyu Woon), a director from Ho Hae’s rival pharmaceutical company, who is undercover to steal the formula for their new drug and the Chief Researcher from Chunha Group, Cha Woo Hee (Hong Soo Hyun). The lives of these individuals will all be intertwined within these three months to reveal exactly just who murdered Ho Hae, and why. (Source)

- Because of conflict of fee payment between South Korea’s integrated cable operators and KBS (cable operators want KBS, SBS and MBC to lower the retransmission fee of their programs), the cable TV system operators stopped carrying the signal of KBS2 TV station on 16/January/2012, causing the ratings of KBS drama series Brain dropped significantly, falling from top ranking position to last ranking position. Because most of the audience cannot watch Brain, the ratings of MBC drama Lights and Shadows and SBS drama Salaryman surged on that day. (Source)

For those who think it’s sad and depressing : I’ve seen first 2 eps and it’ s hilarious. The war zone concept is to take at the 100 th degree. If you don’t believe me, check out the 2 trailers and the recaps at Dramabeans. Much better than Brain for this time slot in my opinion : Big budget obviously, fresh characters, crazy situations. I hope it’s gonna be a hit, even if i understand it’s not for everybody’s taste.

@KDaddict-4, hi, this is not a depressing drama, it’s actually very loosely based on the battle between Xiang Yu and Liu Bang, two historical Chinese heroes, in a modern comedy. I won’t be chasing after it every week, but will definitely put it on my to-watch list once it’s completed.

Believe this drama will be a great hit. Enjoy most of Lee Bum Soo’s drama including that of Giant. May not have the looks but he is a natural actor. Need not resort to “blood shot eyes” as Shin in Brain or funny hairstyle in Harvest Villa to execute his role. Definitely looking forward to this one.

wow.. lee bum soo’s acting is very good.. this is one of the funniest melodrama i’ve seen, and the cast are really good and outstanding story that’ll glue u to ur chair.. don’t miss it!!!

wow…hong soo hyun is really great in the princess man and she get the excellence actress award from her acting in tpm.but why she take a second lead again.i wish she can get main role in her next project but i like jung ryuwon too in princess jamyunggo.but so sadly i cant watch this drama because until now i still have virus the princess man in my brain.but i wish this drama make a good rating.sm fighting…

@ Are the ratings accurate for Ep 4 & 5? The difference in % is about 2% only but the position jumps 10 places?

Please see the note just below the ‘episode ratings’ for explanation.
In additional, normally the ratings between position 5 and position 20 have different less than 5%.
That’s mean a drama can jump from position 20 to position 10 with the increasing of only 3% ratings.
