Synopsis
“The Moon Embracing The Sun” tells a love story between King Lee Hwon and a female shaman named Wol. Wol was born from a noble family and became the crown princess, but she was entrapped and faced execution. Finally, she lived as a shaman.

- Based on the novel 해를 품은 달 (The Moon That Embraces the Sun) by Jung Eun Gwol (first published December 29, 2005), who is also the author of the novel that Sungkyunkwan Scandal was based on.
- Actor Joo Won was originally cast as Prince Yang Myung, but dropped out of the show due to Ojakgyo Brothers being extended. Actor Jung Il Woo has been replaced for this role.
- Actor Kim Jeong Hoon scheduled to play Heo Yeom but dropped out the series prior to filming due to his album being released early 2012 in Japan. Song Jae Hee has been replaced for this role.
- The Ratings for this drama dropped significantly on 29/Feb/2012 due to the Live Broadcasting of FIFA World Cup Qualification of Asia Region on the same time.
- On 6/March/2012, MBC confirms that Episode 19 & 20 will not air this week and will air Special Episodes in its place due to the MBC labor strike. (Source)

I’m really like everything about this drama such as story, setting, cast, act of all cast and full intrict. All main cast have chemistry to each other and next episodes making audience surprise and want to follow every episode..
I think this is drama of the year.. Really like it.

i start watching this, so not yet finish, but i’d like to say bravo the child actors – male and female – i.e. Yeo Jin Goo and Kim Yoo Jung, i think for their young age they show very good acting, especially Jin Goo as the crown prince, at that age he could already showed a dignity, charisma and authority as a crown prince yet at the same boyishness when he tried to impress Yoo jung’s character and giggled ..etc… so cute and endearing. however i must admit that i laughed when he cried, really cried, when he was separated from her, because then i imagine a 15 yo boy in today’s world – a 15 yo in today’s world..i dont think he would cry that hard over a girl, today’s 15 yo boy would still be very much preoccupied with school, games and his buddies…
not yet that deeply involved in romantic setting.. anyway, good job Jin Goo and Yoo Jung ! keep it up.

One of the best korean drama that i’ve watched. I am amazed at how koreans make quality dramas. In this drama you can see that the actors and actresses young and adult really fit their roles. They studied their roles and was abe to internalize the role they are portraying. The story is very interesting , there are no dull episodes from start to finish. I’m from the Philippines and I would like to extend my appreciation not only to the very good actors.actresses but to all people behind this drama for making this and having us fans all over the world watch this. Two thumbs up, highly recommended to all k-drama fans worldwide.

personally, i like the young Crown Prince Lee Hwon better than the adult King, to me the young person eyes and lips/mouth is more likeable – the emotions that he produced with his eyes and lips are more … “right” – when he is happy, bored, amused, upset, showing his authority etc….but that’s my own personal opinion…

great storyline, great actor, great chemistry whether the young version or the adult version. (although i like the young crown prince and young crown princess more)
im not interested to watch it at first because its seaguk. but since everyone is talking about it so i try to watch the 1st episode and surprisingly it not that boring and really interesting. i find myself crying in each episode. that the best part of watching kdrama actually.

Kim Soo Hyun should be awarded best actor for this movie. Was a good story but rather sad in most episodes. But just imagine the King married to a woman for 8 years and never slept with her..of course in human life there is no such thing I am sure..I do like the movie and real good Director or perhaps screen writer or whoever who wrote the story..a movie one should not miss..one of the good movie for this year besides Rooftop Prince, King 2 Hearts and Love Rain….

I think this drama has been overrated. It is a good one but to me it is not enough to surpass other saguek drama that I’ve watched. I still prefer The Princess’ Man over this one because TPM has everything in it that blended so well. I am not against Han Ga En but if other actress have been selected other than her, I think it would make a difference maybe.
