    Does no one understand how hard it is to play a supporting character and be as memorable as JIW was :( Sure he didn’t have the most outstanding character but he played his role very well, the emotions were there and if the plot wasn’t so predictable, it was very well executed. KSH was also very good. But I think we are forgetting the Queen’s performance in episode 19, after the curse backfired, her acting was truly outstanding. The way she acted frightened it was very well done.

    hahaha, i sooo love your own version of the ending of TMETS.. hahaha love it! it is better if they end it that way so that we don’t have this sad feeling over all the scenes that we have watched. hhehe

    @1050 KDaddict

    I agree with what you said. KSH is great being the lead. It will be less sparkle if JIW didn’t act as Yang Myung.
    At first I am sad that YM died but later when he appear happily talking to Woon before disappearing from the screen, it makes me feel better to remember his happy side. :)
    Just a little disappointed it didn’t hit or cross over the 50% ratings due to football match bc that episode is the climax…

    Anyway – congratulations to METS :P

    KDaddict Says:

    @s3-1051,
    Who says we don’t understand how hard it is to play a support char n be as memorable as JIW? Why do u think we say METS would be less attractive if it wasn’t JIW playing YangM?
    It is bc we love JIW so much that it hurts more to see His YM suffer thru the whole drama n to watch His YangM die a painful death. I for one wouldn’t mind as much if it wasn’t JIW in that role.
    Indeed many of us love KMS as BK. We praised her lavishly much earlier for earlier eps. She is definitely a bright spot in METS.
    @mitch, hi-1052,
    We all like to see good ppl live well, n ppl who have done bad things suffer in a drama, don’t we? I soo want Seul to have a good ending, n MinHwa to get punished for her selfish love, which essentially killed Yeom’s father!! Too many ppl died UNnecessarily at the end.
    @OK3,
    So glad to see u again.
    I love this drama bc of KSH’s performance. It reminds me of Olympiads who show themselves to the world at their best after many years of preparation. Watching KSH in METS is pure pleasure bc we get to watch a human being at the top of his form, achieving his personal best, when he is caught at the perfect moment of his bloom. I go, “Ahhhhhhh…..”, in awe and in appreciation.

    Thank you Kim Soo Hyun for a lovely drama viewing time. May you have many more National dramas in years to come!

    Hello Ok3! Yes.. i will definitely watch this bec I fell in love with KSH from dream high. His acting and facial expression in the roles he plays are enough to make me look all over the dramas wanting him to act more and more. The sad part is when we like 2 actors in the drama, its always sad when one ends up the loser.. but still, a good story is enough to draw enough support bec everyone acted so well.

    I will buy the dvd for this drama and watch to my heart’s content and of course, cry like crazy.. I cannot comment here yet as i have not watch this drama fully yet.. only the beginning and the ending.. it’s enough to make me want to watch this drama.

    무척 인상 깊게 잘 보았읍니다. 연우 역활을 맏았던 여배우가 영— 어색하긴 했지만 연우 아가씨의 어릴때의 보습을 닮은 성인 배우임을 감안 해본다면 그렇게 나쁘진 않았어요. 이드라마의 하이 라이트는 김수현 군의 아직 들익은 “배” 같았이 순수한 연기가 아주 미래의 촉망이 보입니다.
    앞으로 좀더 실력있는 상대 배우를 만나서 연기에 접한다면 아주, 정말
    매력적이고 훌륭한 연기자가 될수있을것입니다. 참, 잘 생겼읍니다.
    김수현군 절대로 얼굴에 칼을 대지마세요. 모두들 높은 코를 만드는데…
    자연미가 없어짐과 동시에 정상 급으로 오를수가 없어요. 조언을 명심하세요. 많이 아쉽네요 짧게 끝나것이 말입니다. 대단히 감사드립니다. 이런 좋은 드라마를 보게되었음을….

    Don’t worry, you won’t cry like crazy. You will have full of praise for Kim Soo Hyun & some others.
    To me, this drama is to a more happy side than the sad.
    Most of the good hearted actors & actresses will make you happy. :)

    I only shed tears twice for these 20 episodes. Once when Wol’s female bodyguard Snow dies for protecting Wol’s brother being attack by assassinator. Another one is Yang Myung…… kekekeke :)

    I will also repeat all the episodes to catch all their expressions.

    so sad..my hero was die at last ep & totally hate the ending! such a stupid ending, how come all character just die! why dont yeon woo & king die together..or all character in this drama die. how come sol, queen, yang myung, shaman jang, queen dowager die together at last!! wow! & last ep. queen, shaman, yang myung just die like that! i think the ending is not good.that;s why the rating doesn’t reach above than fifty. i think it’ll bcome more awesome ending if this drama done by dong yi director! i think he;s good at doing historical or epic drama just like dong yi! oh! totally never agree wt the ending!

    at director!
    i told u already that if u dont change the ending will drop. u see it urself! the ratings goes down 0.5%! it means that ur ending was not good! i hope the rooftop prince will not be like this!!
    btw,thank u for attract me to watch this drama. love the opening, the middle & the climax! hate the ending!
    i think most of kdrama had the same like this! bad ending! but i dont remember what drama. hehe

    but im still sad & it won’t disappear! love him so much! to KSH, i love ur acting! ur acting was amaze me & made me angry wt u all the time! hehe
    good job JIW & KSH!
    & also i feel that i want cry when yang myung appear beside woon!
    when i look at woon face! ohhhh!!! so sad! i feel that i want to cry with woon.. love this drama!! hate ending part!

    cindy Says:

    i think the ending is simple but perfect.
    From the very beginning it was said that one day everything will be in their rightful place.The moment yeon u regain her memory the destiny must be done and what is hers should be returned. The death of those people were necessary and by the way they brought it to themselves. And the prince myeon death is epic her love for yeon u brought him to that decision even if he live she can’t have her and thinking of her will kill him so he decide to die so that he can freely think and love yeon u… uhhh so sweet :) I strongly believe the ending was right. I can’t think of any final episode moon-sun will have. I didn’t even dare think that the ending will be like forgiving everyone and not punishing them. hahaha

    Devi Says:

    I this drama is one of the best K Drama ever. It is very complete. Good story, good act from alll of the players, good costumes and good ending ( which is rare for the K drama). My salute for the Director. I think he is one of the best director in Korean. He is able to see the potensial of each players and build up their acting ability to the best in this drama. I wish there are many more K Drama like this.

    fannie Says:

    i really like to comment even if i’m only on ep 14.of all the historical dramas i’ve seen, this is the best. i love the young prince and the girl who portrayed yeun u.they are good and i think they help a lot in the drama.as i read all the comments about the ending, i think i can understand why the king cannot do or decide anything without thinking of his position, that would be selfish of him, thinking only of his own happiness when what is at stake is the entire kingdom.KSH really did a good job in his role, he showed so much emotions in his role and you can feel that he wish he could do something to people close to him, including his brother but since he is the king, he has to restrain himself.i love the scene, where he visited wol in her prison cell, and he breaks down after talking to her.wow!i still have 6 more episodes to go,there’s still so much to see and looking forward to a happy ending for the sun and the moon.

    Charlie Says:

    @KDaddict,
    Yeah, I guess I need to thank you for getting me prepared for YM’s death.
    Yes, indeed. YM deserved better, for he had been such kind person and acted by such great actor, my love, JIW. But I can perfectly understand why he chose to die. I think it’s primarily because he hadn’t been happy about his life due to his status given by his birth. YW did make him happy, but when she died, the first time, he lived, he didn’t follow her. I think, later, he saw less hope in his life. Of cause, life is precious; no one should choose to die. But this is no real life. So I have no complaining on that part. Especially, the bloody dying scene, made his departure more triumphed. If he couldn’t live gloriously as a king or a happy prince, at least, he could do so in his death. JIW in this drama was like in Take Care of the Young Lady; he’d never win, because of the needs of the role for the story. So I can only hope I’d see him more on the screen and happy and totally in control of the story, be the KING.

  17. 1067
    sara Says:

    i loved the drama so far.but the 2 last episodes really disappointed me.i still don’t get why YM should die? Hown is there with the bow,Woon with the sword-after all they call him sword ghost- but neither of them don’t move and wait for the soldier to kill YM?what?even if they wanted to kill him,they could make it better not in this ridiculous way.why YM should be suffering since the beginning till the end?they really waste JIW ‘s talent and his character in the drama.really,give me a reason why a girl should reject such a great man.also,i don’t get why YW is so different from her childhood.she was so smart to the point that she criticized the laws of the country but why she was so stupid and neutral when grown up.princess committed such a grave sin but still was forgiven.i don’t get it.

    KDaddict Says:

    @Charlie,
    I think #1066 makes perfect sense. It’s been an unhappy life for YM. It is a story, a KD, not real life, as u say. It is v impt for stories n dramas to show young ppl that when things don’t go well, don’t give up. I just wish the writer would give him that chance for a new beginning, to find meaning n happiness.

    @sara-1067,
    Nicely put! A lot of us feel the same way. If u go back 1 page, you’ll see that many comments addressed the same issues.
    You’ve brought up an additional one that we haven’t discussed as the show wrapped up; we talked abt it 10 eps back:
    The grown up Yeon Woo is a pale shadow of her younger self, just as u said. Maybe the time she spent in the nailed coffin caused some brain damage owing to oxygen deprivation! (I’m being facetious here).
    After she woke up, she was not as smart, as lively, as active, as funny as before. Part of it may be bc she no longer had a family n felt insecure n lost. At any rate, she became a much less interesting char to watch. IMO, that’s the most serious flaw of this drama: to have a leading char that leaves the audience wanting for more personality from her!
    But despite its flaws, for whatever reason, this has been an addicting show. We had fun during its run.

    overall is a good TV series. the story is SUPER, who ever write the stories is brilliant. all the character is good but actually I think the main actress is not suitable if we compare it with the main actor she is too old they should use the younger one. the crown prince and the crown princess their acting is VERY GOOD I like it, it’s SUPERBS.

    tc Says:

    So many deaths to keep the love of the OTPs alive. Find it hard to accept the death of YM(wish he died to save the King and not suicide) and Seol. It left a bitter taste in my mouth and I could not enjoy wholeheartedly the sweet moments between the OTPs right after YM’s death. Would have prefer a better ending for some of the characters but overall it is still an enjoyable drama.

    @KDaddict

    As you said, it was hard for most of us who watch this show to accept YM’s death because the role is played by JIW. By the way, I started watching Feast of Gods after METs and I was hooked straightaway due to the presence of 2 wonderful male leads. Please go to that thread and we (include Jennie and Mystisith) have left our comments for you

    @KDaddict
    that’s right.her brain should have been damaged.but i think the other reason is the child actor’s performance.she is so pretty,innocent and talented.it was so hard to take when she was dying or when she wrote the letter.i could feel her love for Hown.but i never felt the same with HGI.I don’t say she is a weak actress but she is just so-so.imagine Song hye kyu was playing the role.i always think Kim Yoo Jung looks like SHK.maybe it’s just me.
