Synopsis
A drama that contrasts a woman who succeeds with knowledge and reason and a woman who weaponizes appearance and sensitivity.
Byun So Ra comes from an ordinary background, but she works very hard. She is then betrayed by her boyfriend and her dreams of becoming a professor fails. Byun So-Ra then joins a cosmetics company and she also meets a rival with whom she clashes in this cosmetics company.
Jae Hee will play the leading man, Yoon Joon Soo. His character is a good looking, smart, and talented chaebol, as he’s the head of this cosmetics company.

Actress Eugene was originally cast for the leading role of Byun So Ra. Her sister was then seriously in a car accident that occurred in Guam. Eugene then decided to withdraw from the drama series.

Even I love Jae Hee very much, I won’t be watching because I really don’t like the lead actress Yoon So Yi.
Why not put Lee Soo Kyung to pair up with Jae Hee instead…………….. please please please………………..

I force myself to watch Ep 2 because I like Jae Hee very very much. Still as charming & cute as before.
Yoon So Yi’s trying to act cute and lovely is not convincing at all.
She looks more mature and big size than Jae Hee and her acting is “stiff”
Its a torture watching her acting this role
The other drama 1 mom 3 dads, Jae Hee only got 1/3 of show time with Eugene bc there were 3 main male leads.
How nice if this drama is acted by Eugene.
Jae Hee & Eugene will have more screen time together. I will be enjoying 10000% then and will definitely buy the drama to keep

Just glancing thru and was surprised to see both Jae Hee and Yoon So Yi as the leads. Why surprise? Because I just can’t see these two being romantically involved, not even in a drama together! They are as different as night and day! Yoon So Yi has very matured looks and she can’t act cute nor adorable while Jae Hi has always acted in cute and childish roles. Hard to imagine these two together but will give it a chance once I can find one with subs!

Not watching this drama as I prefer Jae Hee to pair with Lee Soo Kyung. Yoon So Yi not so pretty. Don’t understand how the director put her as lead actress.

I find it funny how some of you guys are being so superficial … Not wanting to watch a drama just based on what the leads look like is a bit … don’t know, overboard? Stupid? But then, it’s all just my opinion. I prefer talent > looks.
Come to speak of it, Yoon So Yi is hella pretty in my opinion, pretty in an unconventional way while Lee Soo Kyung … I don’t dig her ‘prettiness’.
The plot is good (so far), acting is good (at least for the leads) — these 2 reasons are enough for me to watch.

I also find it funny that you guys are being called “superficial, overboard, stupid” just because you guys do not want to watch Yoon So Yi’s drama.
Who says we don’t prefer talent over looks. Jae Hee Has talent and looks. Lee Soo Kyung got talent and looks. If these 2 don’t have talents – I don’t think they have many followers esp Jae Hee.
FYI some feel that its a waste of time watching Yoon So Yi acts in this role because find her acting unnatural and artificial. Of course there are people who don’t mind bc diff PP got diff view and standards of a drama …….
Obviously many have watched Yoon So Yi acted in other dramas and that is how they feel about her – not just base on her looks (in Warrior Baek Dong Soo – thogh I didn’t watch, my friends dislike her very much bc her character is not so “attractive”)
I gave up Goodbye Solo after watching halfway and even did not start watching HERO even I like Chun Chung Myung and Lee Jun Ki very much because Yoon So Yi cannot attract me in her ACTING.
Not one but many viewer commented dislike YSI. Obviously there must be some reason besides a person’s looks. (“not pretty” got so many reason & meaning)
There are many actresses who are not very pretty but they still win our hearts with their superb acting – eg Kim Sun Ah & Gong Hyo Jin
Majority people started to watch this drama – credit goes to Jae Hee.
Jae Hee got talent and X- factor to attract and he is a good actor. If not I won’t be his fans since day 1.

@Soo I think everyone is entitled to their opinion and preference and the person who is going overboard is you by calling people you don’t know anything about ‘stupid’ or ‘superficial’ without rhyme or reason. One man’s meat is another man’s poison , beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder etc and that’s why God or the powers above created such a variety of human beings. If a person likes or dislikes a person, especially in this case film stars who are public figures who are open to the scrutiny of the public, he or she is entitled to it. Whether they are good or bad actors also depend on the viewers, that’s why we have critics so please refrain from calling people names. The success of a drama also depends on the viewers who vote for reasons of their own and you don’t call them names just because you don’t agree with their reasons. So no matter how good or bad a drama is, or how good or bad an actor is, how pretty or ugly the actor is, everyone is entitled to comment. Watch it if you want to but don’t criticize others for not wanting to watch for their own reasons. That’s why the world is round, my friend!

@ok ok ok I agree with you. Depends on how one interpret ‘pretty’. I wasn’t commenting on Yoon So Yi’s looks at Comment @35, just that she is an actress who is more suitable for serious roles and not cute or flirty roles. Agree with your friend there that she failed miserably in Warrior BDS because she was too matured for the role to make it believable. And it’s the same here. She is not compatible with Jae Hee because Jae Hee is cute as a button and famous for all his roles by being cute, childish and lovable. That’s why I said that they are as different as night and day. Yeh, most of us are smart enough to recognise fine actors and actresses who do not have the looks, people like Kim Sun Ah, Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Seo Jin etc but are so well loved because of their great acting.

Ha! The good thing is I’ve never watched the female lead before. Just so happen I never seen her dramas so I can accept her in any role. With that said, I can tell she is not made for comedies.

Why does everyone keep comparing Kim Sun Ah to the “not very pretty” analogy? She’s beautiful and has great charisma, which IMO is more important. Kim Sun Ah is so versatile with her looks. She can be sexy or the girl next door. Every character she plays, she does her best to make sure she fits the role…. some of which have been the “ruff around the edges, or spunky type”. But, outside of those characters, she’s sophisticated, elegant, and very pretty. Please don’t use her to compare to ugly. Doesn’t fit in the least.

My meaning Not “very” pretty does not mean she is not pretty. I agree with your all good points about Kim Sun Ah.
KSA is one of my fav actress because she is an excellent versatile actress…. That is an important point for me that adds into her beauty.
No one is saying she is ugly. We are trying to say as an actress or actor – most important X – factor is ACTING.
Even if you have great looks and your acting is so so, I don’t think that popularity will last…..
In my opinion — “A” list actors and actresses comprise of 2 most important factors in them – superb acting skills and pleasant looks (must have both – do not wish to go into detail what is “pleasant”)
KSA is 1 of my fav actress. Besides her movies, some dramas like My name is Kim Sam Soon, City Hall, Day & Nite, Scent of a woman – I have completed watching because I like her and also like her male lead partners which is an important factor to me.

ep 3 – Yoon So Yi look and behave like a big sister to Jae Hee. Both got no chemistry at all even at the “lipstick kissing” scene and other parts of the show………………

You mentioned Lee Seo Jin. Is he the male lead actor in Yisan and Lovers. If it is, I like him in the drama LOVERS – hv watched at least twice.
As for Yisan, I only watch half way out of 70 plus ep (when he started to fall sick) bc I don’t like sad ending drama.

All my other 3 sisters refuse to watch bc lead actress has changed from Eugene to Yoon So Yi.

@OK OK OK Yes Lee Seo Jin is that person. I like watching his dramas very much and Yisan is one of my favourite saguek. The ending couldn’t be avoided I guess becos of the historical facts which they were following. I haven’t started watching this drama as my time is almost consumed by all the other dramas that I am still following and which have not ended yet. I am also delaying this as I am not a fan of these two actresses.

I still find Lee Soo Kyung is cute and lovely even she act as a “flirty” lady and hope so much that she will win all the handsome guys hearts bc her rival is Yoon So Yi & not Eugene ………..
Lee Soo Kyung is a good actress. I really don’t mind she act as lead if Eugene hv to withdraw at this time. (Off course Eugene will be the best choice pairing with Jae Hee for this lovely comedy). So sad & disappointed !!!!
