Synopsis
MBC’s special 50th-anniversary drama production “Light and Shadow” draws a man’s up and down life with modern history as its background starting from the 1960s during the Vietnam War. Ahn Jae Wook will play the role of Kang Ki Tae who is the first national entertainer for soldiers in war fields.

Ep 35 – Congrats to your No. 1 ratings.
A little puzzle. Kang Ki Tae left South Korea to other country with Jo Tae Su.
Where is Kim Bu Zhang? – Bc the niteclub boss is “bullied’ by Jo Myeong Gook. Now it seems Cha Soo Hyuk got high ranking post n Jo Myeong Gook doing well in his biz.
Why Jang Chul Hwan can be out of prison and starts killing & bullying people.
Nam Sang Mi as Lee Jung Hye is Soo Hyuk kept woman?? I don’t think so. I think she agree to be near Soo Hyuk but nothing more.
Ep 36 – will be wonderful — Kang Ki Tae (Ahn Jae Wook) is back to S. Korea again with so many men under him. hehehehehe

Ep 33 & 34 is the most STRESSFUL ep for me bc KKT hv to escape to overseas………

i’ve been waiting for this good drama to be subbed to no avail however i started watching again & now on epi 7 & it’s getting better each time no wonder it stays at no. 1 in SK!! i see ahn jae wook’s hair transformed to a more cute curlish hair LOL it looks good on him; he’s such a baby-faced guy, he doesn’t seem to age, just luv this actor! anyway i decided not to wait till this drama is subbed, i can pick up some of the things they’re saying but it wld be better if it’s entirely subbed; this is where i wished i knew how to speak Korean so i can volunteer my time in subbing this wonderful drama!

hello to you here, it’s good to read some of the things that i’ve missed watching this nice drama! i’m a huge fan of ahn jae wook & i’ll come here once in a while to see some of the almost recapped stuff that while watching w/o subs on dramacrazy that some of you i think has an idea on what’s happening anyway.
i won’t wait for the subs anymore so i can keep up with this good drama, i hope it continues to soar in terms of high ratings coz it will be good for AJW coz i read last time his drama sarang hae didn’t do well he got so depresses & down, now with this drama i hope he’s feeling on top of the world! aja aja

@OK OK OK….hi, u seem to u/stand hangeul better than i do, pls continue to fill us in coz i’m only epis 7 watching w/o subs sigh sigh and can only figured out little things that’s been going on & i dunno if i had skipped some parts from when his father died but all i can determine is that his father was killed by accident? and that the senator had something to do with it; and then epis 7 i saw suddenly it was around xmas time already & his hair is curly (w/c is cute) and that they live in a small kinda poor neighborhood. I can only assume their possessions were taken by the looks of it done by of course the wicked senator (i happen to like this actor from Baker King but in this drama his role is quite hateful hahaha).
Could you please tell me what happened after his father’s death? also it seems he lost ownership of the theatre right?

i’m on epis 7 1/2 way this morning before heading to work but tonight i’ll surely be finished & cont with epi 8!! i agree with you kang ki tae is a smart individual (or our Ahn jae wook) but i hate those 3 villains esp the charac of Phil mo where KKT’s dad even sent him to school, where’s his loyalty? awwwwhhh so bad those 2 so-called ‘brother’ or hyung but they’re two-faced!

Kang Ki Tae’s father tortured, beaten & later died in the prison. Those govt official lied to KKT that his father admitted to his wrong doings and committed suicide so that kkt won’t probe too much though kkt cld not believe his dad character is like that.
So kkt father possession is all confiscated. KKT is staying in her sis house bc its a present to her from his father. But later they move to a smaller hse bc kkt mom got cheated by some con man and they move to even a smaller house……
DO YOU ALL KNOW HOW TO READ CHINESE. BC EVERYTIME U ALL REQUEST FOR SUB BUT DIDN’T MENTION ENG OR CHINESE.

oh yes, as for the Kang Ki Tae curly hair. I think is bc his family gone bankrupt and he got no money to do biz. And he also don’t know what to do….. and its been like that for a year. I can’t rem whether his mum pawn jewellery to get by or not…. bc its in the much earlier episodes , I need to watch twice to rem better ….. Sorry. hahaha

Jang Chul Hwan & Jo Myeong Gook swollow all KKT’s family wealth. JMGook took over the theatre. KKT later found out bc Nam Sam Mi’s orphanage brother tells KKT that he is a jerk bc how his father died and how his family become in such poor state also don’t know and he is still a happy go lucky guy.
Even NSM brother keep quiet later bc Myeong Gook agreed to join venture with him provided he keep his mouth shut.
KKT alr suspicious what had been told to him and he starts searching for answers how his father died – with his driver’s help & some other source

anyway i’m now on epi 8 it’s too bad a lot of online sites seemed to be broken & so happy that one site is still working i won’t mention here cause the station might cancel it too if i did hahaha! anyway viki doesn’t hv it yet this i can mention hahaha!
that’s what i thought that their wealth has been taken by these bad guys of course the senator et al! i also was right in thinking that his father died but the guy was angry & surprised coz i think they didn’t mean for him to die from torture. i felt sorry for KKT’s father, he luvd his father so much!
ok another qstn on epi 8 if u bear with me nam sam seems to be a victim of this senator too as if they’re trying to make her his mistress am i right? i’m so sorry that i’m quite behind with this drama coz i’ve been hoping someone would do the subs but in DC they only got it subbed 2 epis & that’s it!

No, I don’t know Korean. (SANGJIHOON – AT LEAST U A BETTER THAN ME. KNOW HOW TO READ AND WRITE KOREAN) NA, TA MURAYO.
I know only some basic sentences in Korean that we always hear in dramas, like saranghae, bogoshipo, haengbokae, etc. Haha.
Luckily there are chinese sub for me to read. As for english sub, I also can’t find any for Lights & Shadows.
You may ask as many questions as you want. As long as I got the time and know the answer, I will try my best to answer – of somewhere wrong – hope you all don’t mind. hee hee.

Nam Sang Mi – don’t worry. Until ep 36, no body touch her.
KKT became very strong bc Victoria Niteclub boss give him biz and also he is a person who are not afraid of others. So he protected NSM even Jang Chul Hwan threaten him many times.
But KKT & Jo Tae Su was frame later for killing “good” ganster boss and both was sent to jail. He escape from Prison with Jo Tae Su (another gangster head who earlier is bad to him but later became gd buddy which they return back at Ep 36)
Soo Hyuk lied to Nam Sang Mi that he will help KKT to escape or clear his name provided she keep by his side. Actually it is Kim Bu Zhang who help KKT & JTSu escape to oversea. They came back 4 yrs later. That is @ ep 36

Actually, she went for interview to be a singer. she does not know that actually that is a place for girls to sleep with high influential pp. Soo Hyuk likes her, Jang Chul Hwan also wants her…. When JCH instructs Soo Hyuk to arrange NSM to meet him again, Soo Hyuk gives all sorts of excuse. Later Soo Hyuk lies to JCHwan that NSM is his gf and threaten to resign if HCHwan want to own her. (something like that, hope I am right)
But Nam Sang Mi only interested in KKT and they go dating and bc an item.
KKT protects her…. so don’t worry. @ ep 36 by the time KKT returns 4 yrs later after escape from prison, she already a big star.
She only allow Soo Hyuk to visit her at her home and nothing more.
Her heart is still with KKT

i’m quite frustrated that DC episodes are not working anymore if u click & watch outside their site it takes u to tudou dot com but it’s all in chinese and the L&S drama isn’t showing like it used to! thank goodness one site still has it though it’s quite slow in loading! so i don’t know if i’m gonna progress watching this since i’m already far behind you guys!

hi OK OK OK woah really your family are all fans hahaha that’s so cool? i wanna see him in person too, i’ve been a big fan since his drama a star in my heart altho that’s an old one which i just saw a couple of yrs ago but since then i’ve been following his projects!
oh that’s me, i used that before given by my Kor friend since i also was a huge fan of kwon sang woo so we were so funny coz she was combining so many names that wld make it sound like kwon sang woo & she thought of sang hee as my user name, then i also fell for another K actor kim ji hoon which i still am so my friends on that board made up this name sangjhoon in combination with ji hoon hahaha we’re going crazy with these K actors i tell you!
OK OK OK is also made up name right? hehehe we can do anything about usernames so that’s just the fun part!
i’m getting frustrated now watching L&S bcoz DM is so slow in loading & so far that’s the only site that i can find to watch this drama. Any other suggestion/s where you watch this? Thnx again

Did you watch? – The Moon Embraces the Sun acted by Kim Soo Hyun. Very nice drama. His popularity shoots double triple fold after this drama. Great actor.
