    Synopsis seems rather boring -another mystery ( Vampire Prosecutor is also a mystery whi will also be shown at the same time), a saguek too and no romance mentioned. Don’t know the female actress but hey, Jang Hyuk is the lead so must b somethg there. Will keep an eye on this for sure.

    I saw Ep 1. Song Joong Ki is v impressive in it! He plays the young king, who is serious abt being a good king, but is frustrated by the meddling of his power-hungry father. It is a role quite opposite to the playboy in SKKS, and he does v well. Jang Hyuk on the other hand is much less impressive here, at least in ep 1, he hasn’t done anything impressive. (Don’t get me wrong, I do like Jang Hyuk, I’m just talking abt the role and what it calls for him to do.) But the story itself is kinda ho-hum: A smart kid w lots of guts has gt injustice done to him n his father, n is bent on revenge when he grows up. Eventually he becomes a guard in the palace so as to kill the king. I don’t find that attractive; at least after ep 1, I don’t feel the compulsion to watch ep 2. I think Song JK is the bright spot in this show, so when the young king grows up n is played by sb else, then this drama will be just another run-of-the-mill sageuk.

    Han Suk Kyu have the greatest acting ability.
    He is recognized as a great actor in korea.
    i want to say that you should not stop watching this drama because there is no Song Joong Ki.
    The musical is interesting drama, too. Goo Hye Sun act in the musical.
    Also, you can experience korean culture indirectly.
    Sorry for my bad english..

    @Cocoon Says:

    I wouldn’t expect fans of SJK to enjoy HSK, really. Their acting styles are too different. It’s almost impossible to dislike SJK: Would anyone in their right mind not be drawn to an attractive young man of great promise/spirit, suffocated by domineering father? Teen rebellion in a different form, that many of us can relate to.

    HSK is trying to imagine, what would the guy on the 10,000-won bill be in real life after holding office for lonnnnng time, coping with the “crap” (trappings and privilege of his position) and ambitions as he does daily. It’s not “remember you fancied me as a young man with horrible dad?…”

    I think both are enjoyable on their own terms, if we open our tastes up a little.

    with jang hyuk around how can it go wrong. he’s a great actor be it in historical drama, or any other type of dramas. He can play any kind of role. It’s so amazing that the rating just pull through, now it now the number 1 drama. What so great about watching historical drama is that not only it entertains but it also gives a lot of information. i hope that this drama will continue to amaze, entertain and inform me
